The +run speed bonii are nice to have for sure as you rarely need both Granite and Rooted. They also offset the penalty of each power separately. I have 3 Gift of Ancients global and you move nicely with that.

As far as a sample build goes, Call_me_Awesome's is nice. While I personally wouldn't take Tremor and would instead take Minerals or BU, it has its uses
I built my Stone/Fire for Regen/HP/Recharge in that order and haven't been disappointed (I also softcapped Psi def but I run quite a bit of Psi content).

Fighting is overkill to me and way too many selections (in powers and slots) to get a meaningful return. Same with Presence.

Pyre is the obvious choice (Fireblast can even become part of your single target chain)

Stone has some merits for leveraging burn better. I'm unsure if it's worth it but it's definitely worth a try (and quite a bit of people are looking into it, so we should have meaningful data at some point)

Given how MCM always asks on Freedom's global channels how he should roll and in which pool for best bang for your buck recipes, I slightly doubt Cavatina's rant was aimed at him specifically.

Swiss Draw is limited by the fact that you absolutelty need 8 characters (so that's generally 4 players or more). The process of obtaining the badge, is certainly not hard.

Pentad (by only needing 2 of the same AT, non Khelds) and Free for All (by having a min 3 players) can be achieved by a sole player with access to multiple accounts.

I like PBAOE much better for my tanks, ty I suspect Brutes feel the same.

2,25 HP and 10% regen in 6 slots is nice.

Got all the badges yesterday in one session.

The swiss draw was a little tedious (due to the strict requirement of 8 players) but getting the badges was easy.

Now to do the TF and I can start working on AE badges

It's sake, as in the drink.

Finally managed to stop spending as I earned and reached my first billion on my Fire/ice tank, Arctic Firefly.

Most of it was TF'ing and random rolling then selling proceedings while continuing to outfit my toons, hence why I didn't break the grin and the monocle

Started with a bankroll of about 200 millions and 1 toon IO'ed out (non purpled) when merits were introduced and I'm at 1 billion now with almost all my blueside toons (11) completely outfitted (missing a lotg here and there). Merits and random rolls have been a blessing for me, and have certainly played a part into keeping me interested in the game.

Maybe I'll cave in now and will finish purpling that mind/rad that is still missing some set pieces

Thanks to everyone that encouraged rolling random rolls and for the guides on how to make some money with just about nothing. While this toon hasn't used them, other toons, as I created them, used them to get comfortably into their 30 IOs.

WP/Stone is silly good. Good ST for rather fast pace soloing, Group mitigation with fault spamming.
War Mace shouldn't be too bad either but slower solo IMHO.

And SoW has saved my bacon on several occasions so it sure isn't leaving my build YMMV

Considering I woke up at 5:30 for a MoSTF the other day, I can wake at 5 for another badge if I don't have it yet.

I have started a DA/WM tank recently and it's fun. doesn't put a lot of hurt early and requires looking at the end bar some, but once you get shatter... oh my!

Build is damn tight though.

Luckily, I had used all mine previously save on one toon (but he's pretty much done) so I didn't "lose" freespecs with this issue, which is very welcome since swapping sets around is respecs intensive

Still have vetspecs on most my toons though, but without the freespecs, they'd be long gone.
