Ohmygod ohmygod ohmygod...
ChristopherRobin thank you so much for the chance for me and my fellow players to preserve a part of this game and a extra huge thanks to the artists for giving their time and talent.
My best friend and I have been playing this game for about 7 years, and my wife has been playing for about 6. The three of us have been getting together at least once a week to play and like so many other folks have posted, the news of the game shutting down was just so sad. We had a small supergroup on Triumph (D.Y.S.F.U.N.C.T.I.O.N.A.L. Misfits) and Liberty (The Ombudsmen) and got a chance to play with some great people- special shout outs to the sg mates @Juniper Tonic @Acataclysm @Arched Angel, @Doc Nite Shock , and @K2 Spirit
As bad luck would have it, my video card crapped out last Friday night and I haven't logged on since, and don't think I will have the computer fixed in time for sunset. When I came upon this puzzle this morning I decided that if I won I would give the prize to my wife so she could have a souvenir of a game we shared, something to immortalize her main. So anyway, early xmas present for you hon!
This game has been so much fun and I was really bummed the way my playing time ended, but this makes up for it to have something for her. Again thanks for those sharing their artistic talent for this gift.
I never posted very much on the forums but lurked regularly and ran PUGs all the time in game. The fans of this game are unlike any other, truly Super.
I could really go on for pages because the game memories are playing in my head right now, but it's all just "tears in rain". Take care, be safe, good luck to all. -

So if you wanted to get your sg members with all of their alts would you just keep a demorecorder running while they log in and out, making one large demorecord file or stop recording each time they log in and out, so that travel time to the recording spot isn't "wasted".
If you wanted to get a shot of a hero with all of their different costumes, how would you do that?
Thanks for this tutorial, Leandro. -
Earth/trick arrow offers a great natural theme with a wide selection of powers to lock down mobs.
Earth/cold (with ice blue crystal customized earth powers!) give you some great options visually as well as great debuffs.
Earth/storm for the elemental master theme.
Earth/sonic gets style points just because I don't see many around.
Try several builds and have fun! -
Slotting a perf. shifter + endurance in Superior Conditioning ( epic power pool for a brute). Any issues with this, any reason why it would not work?
-
On my time/elec defender i'm going with soul mastery. I'll have a pbaoe to hit/damage buff with soul drain, a resistance aura that can mule a 3% steadfast protection, power boost for synergy with farsight, and soul storm if I can find the slots.

My friend has a FA/SS tanker and he plays him like a regionally famous wrestler from the south in the 1980s. I'm going to make another wrestler tank SR/StJ so we can tag in/out (/em slap) on AVs and challenge people to posedowns in Atlas Park.
Then Inv/TW most likely. -
So, if you take those numbers 6583-3254 and use a phone keypad as a key for word combination:
6 = MNO
5 = JKL
8 = TUV
3 = DEF
3 = DEF
2 = ABC
5 = JKL
4 = GHI
It's obvious we come up with OKUDFAKI - Ok, You're The Fakie
So if you see a Fake Nemesis in game without one of those barcode that means it's the real... wait... dang lost it. What were we talking about? -
That's awesome, thanks for the quick response folks. Just what I needed to know.
What we're doing is a team of 3, so we'll have a hero/villain each and level pact each other so at 20 we can bring the villains over to hero side.
Might look at the AE arcs too.
Thanks for the info and ideas Zombie Man, Noxilicious, Psychoti. -
Apologies in advance if this question has been asked, could not find an answer on the forums.
Can you level pact if the two characters start in different zones?
Example: 1 hero starts in Atlas, one villain starts in Praetoria.
Thanks! -
It has been a couple of days and whoever was the kin hasn't found this thread, so I will assume they do not post on the forums.
What I will say regarding their play style is this: sb/id kept up consistently, fulcrum shift and transference firing off regularly, short circuit sapping/damaging the enemies, I was hit with inertial reduction a time or two for crying out loud.
I will not call out the name of the toon, but the name suggested that sapping was a big part of their strategy/contribution to a team.
Before the Malta mission, I asked the team to pass any spare breakfrees to the defenders and controller to cut down on the mezzing I knew would come our way (Malta stun grenades last sooo long).
I tried passing greens to Psylenz at least once that I remember, and he was full. So, the comment about inspiration usage/management may have been a factor. In hindsight should I have stopped and asked if anyone needed greens? That could have kept things from getting bad and the ensuing quoted chat. Shoulda coulda, if I was wrong I was wrong.
Then again, in the quoted chat the kin calls Psylenz by global name. Maybe they had a run in some time back on other toons. Who the heck knows?
Psylenz was playing in melee range and died a few times. The kin was also in melee range. I did not see transfusion fire off at all, so the kin would not even heal himself I assume. (granted with cold shields on he may not have needed to). I could definitely be wrong about transfusion firing off, though. I wasn't expecting to see it, so could have turned a blind eye.
I am not against anyone getting in melee if they want, because I do the same on a few of my non melee toons. If I get knocked down then I take my lumps and get up again, but I do not blame others and "take it to the forums" under the guise of a debate. This is no debate, one person got a virtual bloody nose and started name calling.
Heals aren't buffs anyway. Now there's a debate! -
Well, I was expecting this to show up.
As pug runs go, it was short and ended on a sour note, but I can only offer my point of view. If I'm in the wrong, so be it.
I was leading and tanking Dark/Ice, so I built the team. Psylenz was the first to join, cold/sonic defender. Great. I have one myself and know it's a great for teams.
Second was the kin/ele defender with the search message "If you're looking for a healer look elsewhere". Ok, if you don't want to spam transfusion as a filler that's your choice, I didn't even check his powers because that gave me a warning before I even sent a tell.
Grav/emp controller, ok some heal support if we needed it but I'm not pushing someone to play their seconday, I want them to lock things down.
Claws scrapper and ele/shield scrapper. Not much to say, they did as you can guess.
Missions +1/8
Our run lasted 4 missions. First mission was Nemesis, a bit rough for a "getting to know you" start but we did ok. Aoes caused a couple of isolated deaths, no wipes. Next two missions where Crey, we walked over them. And the last mission where some here keeping up with the thread may say "Oh well sure..." was the Save the Oranbegans from the Malta group.
Now I was playing a Dark/Ice tank and I have him slotted pretty well with IOs. Dark regeneration was up when I needed it, and yes while I did dip below half sometimes, I was up to full soon after. By level 44 I know when to hit it and it's usually when the last couple of mobs are beating on me.
I saw the sonic nuke as something cool that defenders don't get to do enough of and when the kin hit transference right after I was all "Heck Yeah." Little did I know you were saving my llife. Thanks bro.
I'm not the most vocal person when it comes to team conflict, because not everyone will like the team mix, some people recognize each other and have old beefs, certain missions have been seen/done enough, but pugs are like that. On Triumph I've seen a lot of experienced opinionated players and I tend to go the route of offer advice if it is hurting the team to the point of multiple wipes but other than that don't tell someone how to play their character.
So after the quoted chat above occurred, I said "Ok guys let's save it for the Malta." I knew it was the last mission because I didn't pick a side in the cold/sonic vs kin/ele. I felt a team disintegration coming and the first to bail was Psylenz.
When I said "Gj all/guys/team on a tough mission" and Psylenz responded with "bite me" and left, I sent him a tell. The jist was, "I'm sorry you had a bad run, I can't tell people how to play their toon, I hope we can team again sometime." I got no response. In the meantime others had dinner/break/cat on fire and left.
So the side I pick is, if you want to play a defender up front that's cool with me, I have a couple of defenders like that too. (kin/ele, traps/ele, dark/dark) When I get knocked down, I can either play more cautiously or I can get knocked down multiple times in one mission then blame others for not healing me. It sounds rude but yeah learn to play, bud. -
I build my ice tanks for tanking, they all have hibernate and tough/weave. That's just the way I like to play them.
I've slotted EA a few different ways depending on the availability of IOs/SOs at the time. I've used 2 ea recharge, defense, end mod ... 3 recharge, 2 defense, 1 end mod...5 slotted Red Fortune 1 end mod... 1 ea Def/Recharge from each of the defense sets... 4 LOTG 2 end mod/rech. They all work fine for me, although I haven't slotted SOs since the invention system was in place.
End mods in EA aren't critical for my level 50 ice tanks so I can play around with wringing as much defense (or set bonii) as I can. By that time end management is under control.
Once I've soft capped defenses, EA becomes more insurance against my kryptonite enemies, especially if I can double stack EA for 10+ seconds with recharge set bonii / hasten. It's also an attention grabber on my ice/em who is lacking in aoes.
Then Hoarfrost if I get in trouble. Then Hibernate if there's more trouble, organize inspirations to pop after emerging. It rarely comes to that, even when it does I'm grinning because it's a challenge.
I haven't put more than 1 recharge in Hibernate since the phase timer change. I don't put slots into Hibernate unless I'm going for some specific IO set bonus. -

Thanks for putting on the contest Bubblegumpop! Great to see some heroes out in the Storm Palace!

I've played a couple of ice tanks to 50 and taken Tough and Weave each time. Granted once I got my defenses softcapped with IO set bonuses the bad guys don't hit often, but when facing defense shredding baddies or high accuracy AVs (or both!) I can tell the difference.
Smashing/lethal being so common, Tough can give you enough time to regroup, Hoarfrost, Hibernate, etc. Without it, if something gets through your defense you take the full brunt of damage.
Just my 2 cents. My latest Ice Tank happens to be Ice/Dark lvl 26 right now, it's a fun combo.
