IGN recently visited Paragon Studios to get a sneak peek of City of Heroes Going Rogue™! They got an up close and personal view of the expansion and experienced first hand some of its most exciting features. Now they want to share their initial impressions with you, so head on over to IGN to see their thoughts on City of Heroes Going Rogue!

This week's winner managed the rare achievement of getting both myself and EMpulse to laugh out loud at the same time.
Congrats RedSwitchblade!
Hang on, hang on... trying not to laugh here... it's just that 'seers' in my world didn't have buckets on their heads. We saved that honor for Tyrant.
Please contact me Red with the costume code of your choice!
Thanks, -

San Diego Comic-Con is only a week away and Going Rogue is just around the corner...which is why we're celebrating it with a Preview Party/Player Meet and Greet at the show!
But now, in addition to previewing Going Rogue, hanging out with the Developers and the Community Teams, enjoying some refreshments and partying down, there is even more fun available for those attending!
We're going to be running some activities during the event that could win you a memento! But you'll only know about them if you become a "Fan" of ours on Facebook or if you "Follow" us on Twitter and then link your smart phone to receive notifications from our pages during the event! Don't miss out...do it now!
Go here to become a Fan of our Facebook Page: http://www.facebook.com/CityofHeroes
Go here to Follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/CoH_OCR
Comic-Con is all about getting in touch with your inner pop culture geek, so we'd like to encourage those of you planning on wearing a costume during the convention to wear it to our event! Everyone who comes to the party in their Comic-Con Costume will receive a special raffle ticket that will go into a ballot box. During the party, three lucky individuals will be randomly picked to have a custom made drawing of themselves in their costumes sketched by our Art Lead and Comic Book Artist, David Nakayama! So strut your stuff all dressed up and win perhaps one of the best remembrances from the show that anyone can offer you!
If you have already RSVP'ed for the festivities from 7:30pm - 11:00pm on Friday, July 23rd at the Hard Rock Hotel's "Edge Room" you should have already received your confirmation email (check your account!). If you haven't RSVP'ed yet, there is still time to do so and space is limited so it's important that you RSVP and arrive as close to 7:30pm as possible, for when we hit capacity (400 bodies), no one else will be let in until people start leaving! Remember, you must be 21 years of age or older to attend.
Go here to read about all of our San Diego Comic-Con activities and to find out how to RSVP to the Going Rogue Preview Party/Player Meet and Greet. PLEASE check with the people you are RSVPing for before you do so to make sure they are not RSVPing for themselves! Too many people are RSVPing for the same group of individuals resulting in duplicates and triplicates of the same names!
We hope to see you there (in costume and with your cell phones hooked up to Facebook and Twitter!)

As part of our ongoing "Ask a Dev" article series, we are proud to introduce you to our next developer: Lead Programmer Matt The Television Stults!
Self portrait in oil. Im way prettier in person.
City of Heroes "Ask a Dev" with CoH Tech Lead Matt The Television Stults

What The Television does on the City of Heroes Team:
14 hours in on Thursday, 9:35 PM:
A Tech Lead does not program. Well, sometimes, if he is lucky. But not as much as he would like. And come to think of it, he probably over committed himself this morning when he agreed to fix bug 14386 himself because, frankly, hes got to find out what is going on with the new L***** requirements and put together a proposal for getting it into the game sometime this year. Lets face it, if the team doesnt get started yesterday, a 2010 ship date on the L***** is basically as likely as getting out of here before 12:00AM, and yeah, thats going to happen. Also, whats up with bug 14382 that K***** is working on? Design has been waiting on that for, like, 12 years now and if K***** isnt done yet, theyre either going to be late on the M***** task, or have to work all night again. And another all-nighter by the design team is not something the tech lead wants on his head. So its follow up on 14382, L*****, 14386 and then (please, please) sleep. But a Tech Lead does not sleep.
Please use this thread to post your questions for The Television!
Questions will be collected on July 24th from the forums and not long after that, we'll post Matts answers and introduce our next dev and ask for your questions for them. -

Brand new comic series!
"Tales from Paragon City" #1
(Click on the image to download the PDF)
"Tales from Paragon City" is a look at life in Paragon City (and beyond) from the eyes of many of the unsung heroes (and eventually villains).
In this first issue, we look at the start of the heroic career of KDave, an otherwise ordinary civil servant who is willing to do anything to shake off years of being stigmatized as the worst that one could ever be in the City of Heroes... "normal".
For more about "Tales from Paragon City", visit The Battlerock X Chronicles at:

Hey folks,
Just wanted to let you know you might be seeing a new face around. Moderator12 has joined us in helping to keep the forums fun and safe, so please feel free to say hi to him in this thread.
I know you all will be on your best behavior for the next couple weeks to give Mod12 a chance to ease into things.
Thanks, -
From all of us on the OCR Team;
Happy Fourth of July!
Enjoy the time off (if you get it)! We're all spending the weekend trying to think of compelling arguments to give management that we deserve Bastille day off as well. -
Congrats Gumba Masta on this week's winning caption!
Left Officer: "Mmm-mmm, this new creme filling's delicious. It's completely covering the taste of mind control drugs."
Right Officer: (in a monotone-voice)"All hail Emperor Cole."

Quote:There is a minimum 8 weeks in between wins. And to those who feel like they might never win, don't lose heart! The next image might be the one you have the perfect caption for.A bit late to notice this...
YAY!
Now to go look at the list...
You tease.
Also, not to be greedy, does winning put me out of consideration for another code? If so, I'd like to still participate (these are fun), but would, in the event that lightning strikes twice, bequeath my winning unto another. -

Don't make me use this SuperSoaker(TM) lady! Just do what I tell you! Don't mess with me! I'm all wound up today.
Go ahead and PM with your choice of costume Hallowed.
And for all of you who didn't win this week, I strongly recommend checking in next week. I've got a sneaking suspicion that an image from Praetoria might be showing up. -

Just a quick reminder to everyone that this is happening tomorrow. I hope you all are as excited about Super Booster V: Mutant as we are!
Good luck all, -
Couple more interesting tidbits:
With less than two months until the launch of City of Heroes Going Rogue, many of our partners are working to promote Going Rogue.
If you visit the AMD Games site at game.amd.com, you may see some familiar faces. Or check out Razer Zone, where Going Rogue is now one of the featured games -
Another week with a lot of strong entries. Sometimes however, it's the short and simple ones which work best.
Congrats Lord_Goat!
You must be this tall to buy Going Rouge!
Please PM me with your choice of costume code.
Thanks, -
The folks over at BigDownload have sat down with Melissa Bianco as part of their E3 coverage, and asked her a variety of questions about City of Heroes® and City of Heroes® Going Rogue. Learn about the origins of Going Rogue, Praetoria and its ruler Tyrant, as well as a few hints on the future of CoH beyond Going Rogue. Its definitely worth a read!
