Rights are important because she'll be making money off this logo and will need the full, legal rights to the design to get products made.
Without the full rights, not only can the artist use the design, but they can stop her from making money with it. Which is why logo design work is expensive; the artist loses the right to that piece. -
Whoa this is a record for me; two posts in one day!
Anyhoo, I posted the giftart I did for the devs on my dA:
Posi, BABs and The Honoree.
This further proves I need a better scanner. I had to correct the reds and blues which were too bright. The reds were fixed pretty well but the blues didn't quite get there. They should be darker and stronger and I'm just lazy; not up to masking out the right places and fixing it properly. -
He only mentioned me 'cause I gave him arts (and a hard time). ;p

I will be holding a sale on marker portraits, most likely, after my return from Hero Con, for I expect to be broke. @_@

If Holdens doesn't take reservations and there's a large group going, maybe you could stagger the groups by 20-30min intervals? It would be harder to set up ahead of time, I think, but that way the place doesn't get swamped by so many very loud, obnoxoius, non-morning-type gamers. ;P

Bumping up the time a lil in light of board games fun sounds like a good idea to me, if possible.

And here I was hoping for Connect4.

I'll bring along my Rad/Elec Defender, Capacitor Tekk.

Quote:Pfft what makes you think:Oh snap, Liz is comin too? I need to get my gameface on then!
I owe her a bunch of noogies for the Bizzaroland series lol.
1) You'll get the chance to noogie me and
2) You won't be getting another. I am thinking 'Pretty Pretty TA'

I started with a 9x12" tablet which was very, very nice. But holy cow I had to make these gigantic arm movements to do anything. In college I used that tablet at my apartment and 4x5 graphires in the lab. The graphires were lower quality but the size comfort made up for that. 5yrs later I downsized and upgraded to an intuos3 6x8" and boy howdy what a comfort difference.

I did a lot of inking with a pen holder and metal nib. It's nice for expressive lines. But I found I also tended to dig into the paper a lot to get thicker lines, and got tired of that. I still have some nibs and the inks but I've gone back to pens.
Usually I ink with Micron or gel pens, tho' some of my artist buddies have these great, I think, Pentel brush pens that just do not bleed or smudge when gone over with markers. So if I can find some locally I'mma pick one up. Microns are nice because they're fairly inexpensive and come in multiple sizes and colors. Gel pens are nice because they come in an extreme variety of colors including metallics and glitter, but don't offer much in the way of size variety. And let's face it, some times you need that .005 tip. -
Quote:I generally don't have problems with constructive criticism. I weathered a painting professor who thought all stylized (non-western, non-realistic) art was a complete ripoff and non-original. She almost never had anything good to say about what I did back then unless I was painting still life. (I was SO happy when she went to China my final year and I got an open minded instructor who let me use watercolor instead of oils!)
Beautiful piece Liz.
I don't recall seeing any mention if you prefer constructive comments or not so I will
just say that is a very attractive style and I like the highly stylized faces and hair.
ZOMG is my fave...cuz she's hawt.
Does my art have problems and mistakes? Sure it does. I'm still happy with it, tho'. -
I'll come along, and bring some flavor Defender that doesn't have the badge.

Quote:I worked as a caricature artist one summer at a local theme park. We had to do the lines with these really stiff... wait I bet I still have one of the damn things. Yes, Design Art markers. They had cone nibs that allowed for great line width variation in the sketch. I found that a summer of working with those pens did wonders to steady my hands while inking on the PC, and all that line expression also translated into my digital inking.Yes. I have a Intuos, but it's really more a matter of my hands not being very digital-friendly in that regard.
It works for the roughs, but when I want to clean up the lineart it just doesn't get the crisp result I'm looking for, even at high-res.
Also, I found that a smaller tablet is much easier to work with as an artist, but you don't have to buy a new tablet if you have a large one. (I consider large 9x12" and up.) You can also set up in the tablet configuration a specific sized drawing area to work in. Smaller strokes are usually cleaner with fewer mistakes. -
This has been consuming me the past few days. But I finished it last night, the commissioner and I are happy, and I can show it off.
Why I love markers.
Now back to the chibis. :3 -
