Hello all,

I’ve been on CoH/V for about four years. I moved to China about six months ago. At first, I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was able to play the game from behind the ‘Great Firewall’, though game update downloads were crazy slow. Anyway, my last subscription ran out three months ago and I have no idea how to get my money to NC Soft to resubscribe. My PayPal has been frozen since I have canceled my US credit card. A friend of mine let me use her ‘verified by Visa’ debit card. The automated NC Soft payment system says that the payment was blocked because it looked fraudulent, though Skype accepted it just fine.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hello all,

I have been doing a lot of Ouroboros arcs (Virtue, blue side); trying to get some quick merits. On two of the arcs, there are missions that will not load. I click on the door, and get the load screen, but the status bar freezes at about 10%. After about 4 minutes, COH just times out and sends me to the login screen. My internet connection and graphics are rock solid. I am sure this is not a problem on my end. I have been on COH for the last 4 years and have never seen an error like this. If I had to guess, I would say that it was a bug that came with the trick-or-treat event. Maybe the code in the door doesn't know whether to send you in the mish or give you a 'T or T' response. The specific arcs and missions are listed below.

arc: The Organ Grinders
mission: Rescue Dr. Snider

arc: Flux the Outcast
mission: Defeat all Trolls in base

Does anyone have any information about this bug...or at least a list of other arcs to avoid?

I hate to pile on, but...

I think that obsolescence a relative thing. If you are a controller on a team with a good tank/defender combination you will feel obsolete. If you are a scrapper on a team stocked with good AOE damage, you might feel useless as well. Even tanks get frustrated when they team with trigger-happy trollers. Of course, since it is the object of the game to take out big groups of bad guys, AOE damage will probably never feel out of place.

It helps to pick your spots when playing a def. Some team leaders invite defenders as insurance or just simply to get a full team. When I'm invited to a team, I try to find out if they really need a defender. If it looks like they don't need my power set, I politely decline.

Sever traffic can also be a problem. I only make my support toons on Virtue and Freedom to maximize my chance of finding teams. During low volume hours, I just play other archetypes.

I've been trying to get a complete set of badges on my main toon (lvl 50 emp def, on virtue) for a long time. Are there any badge-focused SGs out there? I would be more than happy to help others with their badges, if I could get some help as well.

I've played alot on my emp def for five years and I am still 500k points away.

Thanks to all for the constructive criticism of my arc (A Paragon of the Past). Because of your feedback, I have made the following changes:
*Added descriptions for all of the custom characters
*Tried to do a better job of explaining why there were modern weapons in the French and Indian War
*Changed the Freakshow to the Nemesis. This should be a better group for creating a “fake” android.
*Made grammatical changes throughout. Sorry about that. I wrote most of it while I was quite tired
*Changed the War of 1812 map from a lab to a forest map.

I have made it through page 9 of this thread. I’ve played all of the arcs from pages 1 to 9, except the 4 or 5 that would not load for me.

I tried to do Badstorm's and IanTheM1's arcs, but I can't access them for some reason. The last COX update probably put a bug in them.

Great idea. I had given up on getting the AE rating badges. I had my arc up and running on day one of I-14, but only have five ratings so far.

I will do as many of the arcs posted in this thread as possible.

I've been frustrated about this ever since they added the last three healing badges. My badge collecting toon happens to be a four-year-old emp def. I've probably logged over a thousand hours with him and he's been sitting between 8 and 9 million points for the last year. I see 2 possible solutions to this problem:

1. Allow heals done in AE missions to count. Of course, this will not happen; as the devs don't want to increase the motivation for playing AEs

2. Increase the amount of heal points that you are given credit for while exemplared. This would encourage high level emp defs to help out the lowbie level teams that need them. If I could make significant progress toward my healing badges while on a Positron TF, I'd probably do about 2 a month.
