people in many areas of lancaster, pennsylvania are so hosed.
(intercourse, blue ball and bird in hand) -
I have always seen the antagonism that people read into jack's statements as people emotionally reading the words of someone who is not "one of us" he made good and bad decisions, so has posi, so will war witch, all three will also make unpopular good decisions and popular bad decisions. I have no malice for any of them, they made a game i play a lot, heck, jack has thus far made two games that i play, not a bad record for the guy. but i have had this discussion before with a poster who, humorously enough, later flipped and became a screeching fangirl for jacks new projects and a raging, spelling challenged harpy against coh..how times change, but as i said back then, i imagine that he still thinks about coh, you simply cant do something for this long without feeling some kind of attachment, no matter how much you move on.

well, i think its just how he put it. its that he is not losing weight to lose weight or for cosmetic reasons, he is doing it for health reasons, losing weight will be the way to improve his health, and they are, as you correctly said, inseparable, but his total goal is for health. the loss of weight in this case is a necessity or the goal, getting healthier, and he will lose weight to attain his goal, but weight loss is not a goal itself. thats what i got out of it.
The deal seems to be that there is some unstated issue that is a mitigating problem with transportation, and i do not want you to feel that you have to give personal info here to us, its not our business, but the fact is, we can only give help with as much information as we have to work with. but my working notes on that issue are, must be local or in home.
glad to hear about the bike though, please try one out first, i dont want to waste your time on something that wont work, but if they dont exacerbate your back issues and can work keep us abreast of how things are going, did you look up the seated exercises? they arent a magic bullet, due to their low intensity but they may be able to fit in the currently stated issues that you have told us, and will at least give some measure of doable calorie expenditure. i have to stress that to my knowledge, none of us are professionals, so our help is not going to be as good as you could get with a nutritionist or professional personal trainer, please make sure that you exhaust all avenues of getting these assets, because they can do a lot more than we can. -
you know, what would be an interesting idea, we have power and animation customization, could we get sound customization? i really want the clockwork laser blast sounds. that said, the odler sounds arent good at all, they are bad in fact, recently new powers sounds have more personality, that personality can eb annoying or good.

mon calamari are not telepathic, are they?

you are where chase arcanum and his wife have been every time they see in sg chat:"hey guys, i just went to the tailor." its like if your buddy just sent you a "books on tape" edition of the necronomicon narrated by gilbert godfrey.

where there was only one set of footprints, that is where marcian carried you. i just realized my avatar could be considered jingoistic, maybe its me?

one thing about reading "bloom county" as a kid, it spiked my vocab. so i knew that word

ok, jsut talked to my mother(a fitness nut as well) she had two additional bits of advice. 1. resistance bands, you can get them for a relatively inexpensive price, a number of workouts are readily available online for them, and they generally do nto require other exotic or space consuming equipment. also, have you checked for seated exercises? they do exist and much info is online, they incorporate resistance bands and the dumbells you already have. look those up, they wont put pressure on your back and are specially made for people with similar issues as you.

i had a dual blades/nin stalker..his costume is great, his bio rocks in a gloomy emo sense, the swords Look amazing db animations look amazing...but im really not of a mindset for playing a stalker..im working at it, i think i'll get there, but i am not a patient man, not even remotely.
as for dual pistols, i am seeing one of the issues is tha the animations do give the set a weird feeling of flow, you do feel like you stand around a lot, given how perfectly km flows, dp does have a "feel" issue. im getting better with it, i have a dp/pain corr and on groups he is very strong, but solo..its a definite feel issue.
i also have sapph's issue with mm's, i want to be the fighter, not standing back directing the fighters. my style is really kind of set with brutes, doms and scrappers, and maybe some blasters. attack, attack and attack. i do play defs and controllers, but they are mostly when i can find a pug only. -
i wouldnt go that far. i dont agree with it, but he seemed more like how the french try to preserve french culture by discouraging outside sources and even some words of foreign origin, and i have seen similar things with china and japan, there will always be people who try to preserve something they feel is uniquely theirs, I feel that that mindset can go into unfortunate ways, but mostly it is just a bit backwards. i have seen jerks with this attitude as well, but the op has not gone that far so i dont think its fair to lump him in with them.

Quote:america doesnt have roots, that is the awesome thing about it. we are a nation of immigrants, both in people and ideas. oh, and didnt see if anyone posted this but anime's evolving style is because of American comics, specifically betty boop and disney. the character design influenced osamu tezuka who took the larger headed, larger eyed character style to his works, so in a way its like when rod stewart does American music standards, its a returning of a style created here and refracted through another culture's lens.(i mention him because he directly said that he just takes american music and resells it to americans)I just find it sad that a country like America is losing its roots. You know what i mean.. just list the super heroes from America. People are getting more into the Japanese culture which isn't a bad thing of course, but it can be because when the Japanese experience the American culture in say 50 years from now.. comic books could be completely gone from shops or production.
bugger, dj beat me to the disney thing, but at least i got to work in the tezuka info -
ok, one thing on the recumbent bikes. my reason for suggesting them is that they sit back, not straight up, my hope was that it would help your back issue since you would not be sitting upright while exercising. the foot pedal thing i sympathize with, but you know, my feet are a size 14 wide and i can fit in the recumbent exercise bike at my gym(which really is just the local ymca, they really do tend to be fairly well stocked) so how uncomfortable are the pads really? you cant eb hurting your foot or gettign blisters, but on the same token, you may have to compromise. as for boring, hell yeah, if it were me then i'd just continue to do heavy weight lifting and karate, but working within your limitations, a lot of the more fun exercise(heavy weights, heavy bag, speed bag, various martial arts) are out of the picture, so we gotta go with what we have. if you have a portable music player that has a shuffle function, thats the best of how i get through any cardio i do. one last question, you mentioned living space issues with weight lifting..i dont need any personal info, but would you be able to get a simple weight bench in your dwelling? if it is at all feasable, then most weight benches are not hugely expensive usually come with some extra weight, because you are going to find the 20 lb dumbbells of limited use, you really should look into that. yeah there is some outly of cash here, not a huge amount, mind you, but getting you to where you want to go is going to be a task, so you pretty much have to commit here.
right now your biggest issues are transportation, space and back injury, right? (regarding exercise, im useless on diet so i am bowing out of that end) that is what we have to work around, and those are the avenues i see, the pool, the possibility of the bench, and the recumbent bike. see if any local stores have a recumbent exercise bike set up for you to try, to see if that alleviates the back issue.

well, in the all things art thread, i did suggest that you coudl roll a number of gothic looking costume options into the "supernatural" booster as it is a common and popular conception of vampires, guess we will see soon enough if that happens.

well, things to expect/not expect. the muscle sliders adding more musculature is unlikely, that would add more polygons and could lead to performance hits, so we wont be seeing ms. everson's defined shoulders in this game in all likelihood unless something drastic changes. furthermore, much like reptillian and bioluminescent, if there is a new skin texture, it will likely be limited in what it works with, so dont get your hopes up for mixing a muscular hearts plus character. that said i, as i was in the art thread, think its entirely genre appropriate to have more muscular women, and am looking forward to what comes of sam's legwork. If nothing else, dave seemed enthused, but dave seems enthused a lot, he's an energetic guy, dave is

Quote:ok, pool is good, hadnt thought of that, its an indoor setup right? because you need a all year situation to deal with your issues. as for bikes, have you tried a recumbent bike? they are in a nearly prone position, so that might work better with your back. i say this both in the transport and exercise situation. i'm 6'2 so i'm close to your height, and the one at the gym i go to fits ok(though i find cardio too boring to maintain a serious regimen in, its weights or bust for me.), maybe thats an option.I went to a rehab place a while ago for my knee, but I stopped going largely because of the people weren't listening tho what i was saying. They were having me do weight lifting a bit, a balance thing, and the bike thing, the lifting did no good because they made me put it at such a low weight/rep that it had no impact what so ever. The balance issues i had was more to do with not knowing that my pelvis was messing with my weight distribution and the bike if i remember right was not as big a problem as walking, but not enough to really do me any good exercise wise before i couldn't do it... since then the back issue has grown so i'm not sure whether it'd be worth it.
The best i can think of is there is a pool somewhere around here that has a year long membership for $100... and I could bike over there if i could find one that i can ride... which height wise is always a problem. The world doesn't like tall or short people ^.^ -
hmm, that is weird, there was a link a few hours ago, there may have been moderator intervention because technically it was a locked thread, and we were continuing the topic.

Quote:ok, yeah that is a number of issues, that really makes it very difficult to go anywhere with this, at elast not with me being relatively unfamiliar with your local situation, which i'd be unlikely to be helpfully aware of in this set-up. but yeah, you really are in a situation that i cant be of much help with.rian,
As far as doctors go... I'm screwed. I have no health insurance right now. So >.>
Part of the problem with the gym idea is transportation and to discuss that I pretty much would have divulge info that I'd rather not so >.>
Larcen3 and Mr. DJ,
My eating habits stem from a few things...
#1 I hate leaving left overs that likely will never get eaten.
#2 I hate cooking... it's boring to me.
#3 I am not a food minded person. I don't quite know how to communicate what i mean by that... I know how much food i should be eating by the numbers, but just basing what i eat on numbers is not really a good idea. I like good food, but creating, preparing, and even figuring out what is the good food just doesn't really cross my mind and if it does it either at the wrong time or too late or i can't do anything about it.
#4 I eat really really really fast. I've tried slowing down but it's still really fast, even compared to fast eaters. It's not like i'm eating like a pig either. I just chew and such fast so when there is food i like i want more and because i'm not "full" i just keep eating.
As far as weights and such...i do have a some weight lifting stuff around but i don't know how to use it within the confines of where i'm at and limits of the equipment i have. If i remember right i have a barbell and 2 dumbells... and i think up to 20lbs weights, but i have no weight lifting gloves (i need those the rubber on the *bells messes with my skin), not much room to work with, and no lifting bench, or spotter so the only thing i can think to do with them is only use the dumbells to lift >.>
Are there any local charities you can turn to for help? if you are around the same size you were last time, things are going to be difficult, and given the limitations you have mentioned, im really drawing a blank for options. at the very least have you seen wether a exercise bike is in your budget? look in the local paper, people often get them with the best intentions, but then sell them after giving up, might be able to get a deal there. garage sales also might work. given your description of your issue, im a little worried about your pelvis having an issue with the seat, as well as the leg length issue . best i can say is if you can secure transport and payment for one of them, try it first, to see if your issues translate to the bike as well. -
I pvp every time i enter icon/facemaker. pretty sure i critted arbie fab.

yeah really watch yourself around this, its cool that it worked for you, but there are several on the market that range from placebos to actively dangerous, id use these as a very last resort and only under the strict supervision of a competent doctor.
-
well, the short walks aren't something i would really recommend, you really only get the benefit of aerobic exercise after your heartrate is elevated to a certain point, and raising and lowering it in short spurts would be more likely to cause damage than help. have you tried using a exercise bike, since it would lack the impacts of walking that may work better on your back. also, have you tried weight lifting? as odd as it seems to do an activity that is used to add mass to people, it is a reliable burner of 475-250 calories per hour depending on intensity. not as good as jogging, but if your back limits that, you can work with what you have. particularly since a lot of weight exercises can be done while prone or sitting, and i'd argue its significantly more fun and thus easier to motivate yourself to do.
i remember from last time you mentioned your doctor was not much help, is there any chance of you seeing another one? not sure what he particulars of your health care plan is but a useless doctor who is just fixated on gastric bypass surgery(i seem to remember you mentioning that eh was hung up on this) is not much help. have you checked any local gyms that have both accredited personal trainers and dietitians ? some do include these services, an they can do a heck of a lot more for you than we realistically can. I think i asked you to do this last time and we never really had a follow up. -
Quote:that is another deal that got to me. some guys are funny when they are angry, yahtzee does ok, don rickles worked it, but until you establish yourself as someone who actually has an opinion worth listening to and can be rational and give either a valid or at elast entertaining review on your own merits, maybe the ranting jerk on the internet niche is a tad snug at the moment. maybe you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar and water..and a plastic applicator. It's something he seems to do in his 'The Amazing Atheist' videos too. Although some of the recent ones I saw seemed to be a lot better filmed and his incessant rocking kind of fits into the shots more.
He seems pretty popular as far as it goes. Can't say I like his stuff though. His 'schtick' seems to focus around being confrontational which isn't really my cup of tea even when I agree with him.
just seems kind of played right now to be the angry guy, and part of mr shakey cam's issues outside of his movement was his relentlessly arrogent and condescending attitude. you are a fat nerd with a neckbeard, dont try to establish your pack's mating priviliges, just establish why i care about your opinion.
(and yes, i know that i am coming off as angry in my pot, but im speaking from a customer's persective not a reviewers, and as the saying goes."the customer is always a sociopath"...people who work in retail are nodding.) -
the funny thing is, i have a lot of charactrs that dont have stamina, and i just get by on playing smart and not over-arresting enemies, so they just got a early kwanzaa present. a lot of my melees are looking at picking up tough and weave to get that much tougher. my controllers might look into gettign more soft control with presence..most of them already have the leaderships. im anticipating making my crab soldier really team friendly with stacked leaderships and secondary leaderships. i suspect she will be popular.

also, not related to the other guy, but instead the guy who was in the scott pilgrim review, STAND STILL. its a thing a lot of us take for granted, most professional camera operators keep a nice, stead and pleasingly framed shot of actors and tv personalities, it draws our attention, keeps the picture focused, its easy to pay attention to. waddling around and rocking back and forth (i do this all the time, that is one reason i dont do these) will drive the audience duck-strangling crazy. the scott pilgrim guy was someone who,on points, i agreed with, but he was physically painful to watch because he looked like he had to pee.
