  1. Ah okay cool, I wasn't sure what to take for Def bonuses to be honest.

    Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the replies guys. The reason I would say my build was redundant was because it still had powers like Stamina taken, whereas now they are inherent, so I can take those out of the build plan and make room for others.

I think the best thing is to play for a while, get some inf built up and then respec again to slot in the new enhancements. As long as the build doesn't have any stupid mistakes in there then that's good!
  3. Hi everyone,

I've recently returned to CoH, due to being able to play free, and it looks like with all the changes my old build is now redundant. I haven't played since around I14, so obviously a huge amount has changed in that time. I've done a quick build in MIDS up to level 39 as that's my current level, but could you please help me out with the build so I can play effectively again?

I haven't slotted yet as I need to get the basic build down, but I also only have about 4.5 million inf which I gather isn't enough to do much with these days? Also I've taken Fly as I like the power and it fits in with my idea of a character, rather than anything else. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT: I should add I've had a look at the guides and there doesn't seem to be one more recent than I16, so they aren't much help.

  4. So, something which I think would be fairy simple and just save everyone a small bit of time, and make it faster to get around, especially in teams.

When a mission is accepted that is in a different zone to the current one, then the compass points to the exit leading to that zone, or perhaps to the trainline. It can be a bit annoying to have to check where a location is, and not know if you have to take the train or can just exit from the current zone to the needed one.

So my suggestion is that when you take a mission which isn't in your current zone, the compass points towards the zone exit. I think it would be quite simple.

    Make sense? Good idea?

Cool, cheers. Think I know what I'm taking now, just need to get the slotting right.
  6. Thanks guys!

Wilfred, that was exceptionally helpful, and well explained, thanks for taking the time to write all that out. I think I've got my build I want, its just the slots to get down now. I won't worry about he IOs for now, but go with SOs and save the inf up.

This is my build, with no slots. There a couple of times I was unsure of what to take, most notably at 38 and 49. Any suggestions are welcome, and slotting advice is always appreciated! I took Super Speed because of taking hasten, as I thought I might as well. Combat Jumping handles the verticle aswell as knockback protection.

Hours and hours working off debt? Has Ouroboros sent you back several issues?

    I assume its char specific.
  10. Ok, so I've done a build in the planner, what do you think? I've only slotted up to 39 as that is what I am, but are there any glaring issues?

    Thanks.

  11. Hey everybody. I'm returning after a couple of years, and so I have a free Respec (or two) to use. I've done some hunting around the interweb, but there doesn't seem to be guides from after about 2007, and obviously things have changed since then!

Has anyone got a good guide, or can help me with what powers and slotting to choose? It will be for PvE, and as I'm only a level 39, it will be a levelling guide too.

    Cheers guys!
  12. the base defence is 2.5%, with 3 slots its 3.9% but only goes up .1% with each slot after that. so i think the 3 slots is worth it but no more really
  13. cool cool. yeah i think i will go for cj and acrobatics, i can run all my toggles with 3 slotted stamina and not lose end so thats good!
  14. [ QUOTE ]

Putting more than 3 of any one type of enhancement in a power really doesn't do much (the last 3 do ~5% extra each) so unless you've really not got anything else to slot, it's probably not worth it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

ah yes, i forgot that! ill swap out damage for acc or recharge reduc

    [ QUOTE ]

CJ and acrobatics only have a very small defence bonus, personally I've never found it worth slotting for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

but is it still worth it? i was trying to cut down on my power pools, and so rather than take SS for travel and Hover for defence, i could take the one pool. is it not worth it?or should i take concealment instead?

    [ QUOTE ]

Possible power suggestion. Air Superiority - I'm a big fan of this power since I started using it in a couple of my blaster builds. For a set with no control you may find it useful. It's a one hit knockdown (mele) and slotted with 2 or 3 acc and 1 recharge you can keep a boss pretty much permanently on it's bum. It really depends if you're comfortable in mele or not, but with no flight, and no control, things are going to close you anyway so I'd probably recommend giving it a go on the test server.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well i've never taken it as i've always gone with fly for the defence bonus and dont really think i'll use it, i try to stay away from melee, but have got the old fire sword and blaze there

    [ QUOTE ]

Consume I find exceptionally useful, it might be worth shuffling a couple more slots in there. I'm slotting mine with 2 acc/2 end modification/2 recharge which allows me to run my toggles and also to put increase attack rates in all my attacks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Never taken it before but heard many a good thing so thought i'd give it a go
  15. Ok so i have one free respec left, and i want to get it right! as i'm level 38, my next lot of powers will be the ancillery/epic ones, so no thought required really (going with fire as it fits char/power concept). But i want to get the rest of the build right, so im offering it up to criticism (be nice) before i go ahead and change it. So, what does everyone think?
Oh i planned all the ancillery/epics too
