Apart from the fact throwing cars and wall crawling are normal for superheroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So is shapechanging, shockingly enough.
  2. [ QUOTE ]

You're telling me, if Superman, or Spiderman got his bits swapped, and started sporting a pair of breasts, you WOULD'NT find that odd? Or bizarre?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Given these same people benchpress cars on a regular basis, no.
  3. [ QUOTE ]
Was CoH an age 12 rated game? Or soemthing... anyway, i think because there could be players of a young age playing, the idea of trans-gender characters is a bit... well let's say it's more mature content. Does that sound reasonable to people?

    [/ QUOTE ]

A villain group dedicated to tearing apart innocent civilians and harvesting their organs isn't mature content?

I haven't seen any children traumatised by that, so I think they'd be able to handle a character switching genders tbh.
  4. Eh, maybe. My standards are usually a bit off when it comes to this kind of thing, I guess.

Skulking around in the dark avoiding some flesh-craving maniac with an axe, fleeing through ruined buildings gets my adrenaline going.

Mowing down legions of The Generic Demonic Force(tm) with a massive chaingun gets the adrenaline going.

Watching waves upon waves of my robotic minions crash into a hunkered down human military force gets the adrenaline going.

Skulking after someone in an opera house, trying to seperate them from their guards and making their eventual death look a tragic accident gets my adrenaline going.

Doing these things in computer games? That too gets my adrenaline going. Being forced to avoid massively over-levelled enemies with no real way to counter them at that level never struck me as anything of a challenge; just irritating.
  5. I didn't find it challenging tbh, just tedious.

Same with the "challenging" or "risky" fights against Arch-Villains. Wailing on something for five minutes straight isn't either of those things. It's just boring.

If you get 8 Crabs at once I say you'd be able to knock around a few AV's. I killed 4 bosses with 4 Crabs in 2mins

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eight Crabs at once is not doing things solo.
  7. Crabs can solo quite well, but their key strength is definitely in the - quite frankly disgusting at times - AOE we dish out. I'm sure you can solo a few EBs here and there, but the lack of consistent single target damage and mitigation means you'll likely be struggling to do so (especially without pets).

Would be an interesting project, but far from the best VEAT for it.

My own experience has shown that eight man minion/Lt spawns go down in the blink of an eye (even without the aid of others), but Bosses are rather iffy unless team mates back me up.

    Respecs and SOA

You can change everything, except which Patron you chose.

So feel free to flick between Bane/Crab or Widow/Fortunata as much as you like. You'll lose any power pool appropiate costme pieces (Crab legs, Bane mace, etc) in the process.

actually its through general playtesting that the bugs are found and noted, if people didnt play on test then they would have a significantly buggier launch. It only takes on person "playing" on test to find a game breaking bug.

Testing and playing on test are not mutually exclusive.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If you're finding bugs and noting them, rather than playing for the sake of seeing stuff early, then you fall under the "tester" category in my view.
  10. [ QUOTE ]
playing on test may indeed spoil it for the people that do it but without them it would be a considerably longer time untill you got to see them in light of day on live. You should be grateful for the free service they provide for your gaming experience

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Good grief.

Playing on test doesn't achieve jack squat other than e-peen inflation.

Testing on the test server, reporting bugs, working with the devs...etc. Those are the folk who should be "thanked".
  11. [ QUOTE ]
EAT's not being able to solo on relentless is just bad design on the dev's part.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, it's hilariously OTT expectations on the playerbase's part.

Soloing effortlessly on the highest difficulty without buffs or inspirations? lawls. You've really misunderstood the whole idea behind epic archetypes in CoX.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
But at least I went out and looked, I didn't just whine that I should get the content for free because I'm too lazy or stupid to actually get the pre-order pack. After all it wasn't exactly hard to look at the main City Of Heroes/Villains site and pick from a list of pre-order retailers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I went out and looked. Didn't find it. Try again. Maybe you can insert that story about lions and tigers and bears assaulting you every step of the way now, too.

    [ QUOTE ]
    Because you're right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    No, because it's a strawman.

    [ QUOTE ]
In a word no. You aren't right, you think that because I didn't spend money on something everyone else should have the same thing? I didn't spend any money to get my fifties, should everyone else get one for free? I wrote a book, perhaps not a very good one, but it cost me nothing to write, should everyone get one for free because it cost me no money? This isn't some communist utopia where everyone is equal, if you don't put the effort in, you shouldn't get the rewards. And when as you have pointed out the effort is so minimal I don't see why you are taking issue with putting effort in. Maybe you just want everything given to you on a platter.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The strawmen continue. \n/

You didn't put jack squat worth of effort in. You had a retailer nearby that was taking pre-orders. End of. You were not out writing fantastic novels, curing Cancer or doing anything worthy of calling "effort". You got lucky, pure and simple.

    [ QUOTE ]
They bought two games and got a freebie, I bought two games and had to buy the extra content for extra money. By your system of logic I should have got the freebie for free

    [/ QUOTE ]

They still put down money for it. They put more effort into earning the money for it than you put effort into finding a retail outlet with pre-orders.

But I'm going in circles. Ducking and evading the point just shows shoddy your base argument is. Puff yourself up all you want, but all you did was find a nearby store with pre-orders. That's it. People shouldn't have to put down money for something they, for whatever reason, couldn't get to when others had it for zero cost to themselves.

But hey, I'm sure those crippling wounds the Ninja Assassins gave you during your deadly voyage were all worth it.
  13. [ QUOTE ]
No effort at all to buy over the internet rather than making a journey to a store that doesn't even have the product you want to buy. Plus what is more a lot of the internet retailers cost less than the high street retailers.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, no effort - just luck that you can find a website which was doing the offer, or that you had a credit card for it.

    [ QUOTE ]

Good vs. Evil pack came with some nice toys but as I already had both games I had to buy the addon pack. Should I just have sat on the forum and whined that I should get extra content for free?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pathetic strawman. If you bothered reading the rest of the thread, you'll notice this is about making the playerbase pay for things that were once free. The Good vs Evil additions were not in a free bundle. Drop that argument.

    [ QUOTE ]
After all I already had both games, I had been playing since launch in the EU of both, why should I have to pay for something others got for free?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They didn't get it for free. They paid money for it.
  14. Brick Johnson. Your first contact should have introduced you to him.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
You could pre-order online from a different country you know.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which would have cost a staggering amount of money for a lot of people.

Ninja's bleating about "effort" is hilarious. There's no effort in hoping a store you can get to had the offer going on.
  16. And next you'll be saying you journeyed through a terrifying storm, attacked by lions as you travelled up-hill. Both ways.

So you were able to get ahold of one. Big whoop, there's still a fair few people excluded and nor does it address why someone should have to pay for items that their peers got for free.
  17. I, personally, wouldn't bother.

I just think that if something is gained for no additional cost - in this case the helmets - then I think it's incredibly silly to later ask money for them. If it was the Collectors Edition items then I could understand, but it's the pre-order helmets.
  18. [ QUOTE ]

So why didn't you get a pre-order of the game too?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Because they weren't available in my area.
  19. [ QUOTE ]
If the some more people now want to share in these items, then why shouldn't they remain at least a little bit elitist and be for those who want to invest a little in NCSoft to get them?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why should someone have to pay for them when they were given away completely free in the first place? There'd be hell to pay from the players if they started dishing out the CE things like that.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Actually every AT is perfectly capable of running at highest level difficulty (possibly with the exception of khelds ), every AT has some real gem sets. Every powerset is another matter

    [/ QUOTE ]

Therefore there's no problem, right? The Arachnos Soldier can solo on the highest difficulty, but the Bane powerset can't. Going by those standards, things are pretty consistent.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
AFAIK, bosses are meant to be tough for most ATs... not that they are, but they're supposed to be

    [/ QUOTE ]

Certainly the case with Crab Spiders, so there's some consistency there. I just find it odd how he wants to solo on the highest difficulty possible before saying the class is decent. By that criteria very few ATs are up to any sort of standard.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
Actually, my complaint was they're weak, and can't survive a confrontation with anything boss+.

As long as i can solo, and solo easily on relentless, and have good (great) damage, i don't mind how they compare to anything, that's when crying about pvp comes in, but that's a different case.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Can all ATs solo at the highest difficulty?
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I don't think praf's trying to pick apart everything you say out of spite, but still, it's like comparing apples and oranges. The AT's are ALL unique in someway, so why the hell compare them? Just find something that makes bane spiders work i say.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    ...

Isn't the complaint about Banes "they're weak compared to other ATs"?

  24. [ QUOTE ]
As I said in the suggestion thread is seems a little unfair on those who actually got the pre-order pack to just give away the special bits they got.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why? You didn't pay anything extra to get them after all.
