  1. my creativity beat me. now...I've written the thing a day early..ah well it's only a day and I'll give myself a handicape of minus a day against me so that it can be fair.

whats everyones title for the book

Mines gona be a dark, evil, good vs evil, kind of idea, and a fantasy. And of course Magic is invovled! :P Its called!
"Shards of Darkness". Kind of dramatic i know....

    [/ QUOTE ]
mine is kinda romantic on some levels and a tradgity on others as well as iflling it with twisty plots. Mine shall be called. Lost memories.

That's a pretty nifty program actually.. I've just set up all of my chapters/scenes and it's all ready to go on Wednesday!

    *gulp*

    [/ QUOTE ]
well good luck to you. Differnet writers writer different ways. I onl y have the outline of the story in my mind but most truely cinematic things play through my head as I start writeing it. I myself would find it in the way if I got new ideas and had to squeese them in..but then again that's me. I'm not saying no one should choose that program. Anyone can. It's just not for me.

There have been some guys arround, who have never known a typewriter or computer and have done extremly good writing, e.g. Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare .....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which probably explains why, between the two of them, they've added over 1,000 words to the English language.

    No computer = no spellchecker.

    [/ QUOTE ]
lol...you know I always felt strange because in a school full of Chavs (the bad kind of teenages hanging outside nearby offlicence's) I was the only one who actualy understood what Macbeth said in the play when watching both the traditional and remade one. Everyone else couldn't speak normal english let alone understand the old way of the english language...OMG I said Macbeth!! *Goes outside, spits on the floor. Curses loudly. spins around in a circle 3 time before reentering the room adn sitting back down at the comp* I'm too supersticiouse sometimes.

You don't need to change your way of writing, it just makes it à little bit easier to structure your work and keep a steady line in your work.

And after all, why bother as long as you are happy with your way of writing!

There have been some guys arround, who have never known a typewriter or computer and have done extremly good writing, e.g. Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare .....

    [/ QUOTE ]
ah true. I perfer ot not structure my writeing like me life. WIth me liveing with my parents if I dare plan on anything it often get's ruined, BUT NOT THIS TIME!!
  6. Anyone here like DAvid Gemmel? I know he'd dead now but t ome he isn't. a Writer lives on in his work. So technically I got a peice of him with me...oh wait that sounds so...morbid.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Just a little tool for all you writers, I use it for novels and even for scripting comics!

    yWriter

Works fine for me and might be a help for others, just have fun!

And good luck for all November Writers!

    [/ QUOTE ]
sounds interesting but I mostly write the tradition al creative way. I start from ablank page, put music one that get's my blood pumping and then the inspiration circles my brain makeing my type so much that when I come to my sensse I realise I had just been doing it for 5 hours and I'm late for something important. lol.

I could write 50,000 words in under a day.

The word "A" written fifty thousand times over counts, yes?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I woudln't think so unless you had the 50k as just the starting point "A (X50k) Car drove down the road."
  9. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
50,000 words in a month works out at 1700 a day, which is a lot...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Naaaah. It's only, what? 2.5, 2.6 pages a day. Of course, once you get into that groove, you'll do a large stretch of wordage. Back in '99, I did 30 pages in a week...and that was when I had a deadline of six months.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm just teh same with being able ot make 2.5 or more pages daily. Really 1700 words a day seems kinda small unless I am on one of my off days when nothing comes to mind..but that's when my music comes in.

Luke and Han stared at each other, naked, under the soft glow of the lumo. "Hey, kid." Han mumbled, more nervous than he would let on. "That's a pretty big lightsabre you've got there."
"Let The Force flow through you, Han." The tow-headed Jedi Knight smiled.
"The Force? Is that your nickname for your..."

I'd love to have a go at this but I'm sure I'd never be able to write 50,000 words in one month. It seems very tough. Having never written anything more than a few pages long someting of this size, in such a short space of time, is a bit daunting.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My goal is of course to get 50k words together and be a NaNoWriMo winner. Of course it is. However, I don't think it'll by the end of the day be the main achievement.

I'm interested to see if I could write a novel in my current situation in life. Work, family, the stuff. I haven't written fiction since 'Magenta Brand of Darkness'. I don't have the time and energy. Or so I say to myself.

Could I make a plot and write a novel which I might try to sell to some publisher? I can always dream but if that's all I do I'll end up with some nice dreams and a blank screen. Or I can wait and see how my life turns out to be in ten or twenty years time - maybe I'll have more time to write later? OR I can go for it and prove to myself that no matter what I can write and get it all done.

I won't know unless I try. Usually I wouldn't. But, NaNoWriMo is an excellent excuse to drive myself to the limits and beyond!

Will I complete the 50k challenge? I'll know by the end of November 30th. But by golly & gosh I'll give it my best shot.

What if I get only 30k words together? Is it a failure? I don't think so. It's 30k words more than I would have otherwise written. In my book (pun almost not intended) that's on the plus side.

    [/ QUOTE ]
well personally I don't care if I win or not. I'll probably still be writing after the end of novemenber...but the plot I have is for both my main CoV and CoH characters. They're linked as lovers at the begining, but in the world of contests and "accidents" (caused by a certain Dr Aeon) they get split up and the result is phanominal powers...but complete loss of memory.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
For anyone who's worried about the amount of words needed:

    It's only 80 A4 pages, using size 12 font.

Doesn't sound too daunting that way .

    [/ QUOTE ]
mwhahahahaa 80 pages you say? now that's gonna be cake...if I don't get bother by work or my parents that is.

Edit: well I signed up now and I hope I'm able to do it. I'm already getting so many ideas but I must store them. must store them till wednesday. Then I'll make sure I start writeing for story of heaven's wing and Hell's wing and tragic story of how they came to be.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I am having great fun doing it actually. It's incredably frustrating to me at the same time though as I spent so long with the Guitar and have got stuck into that sort of learning structure. I find drawing alot different to that.

I did pick up the D&K Marvel book that Mothers Love suggested and I have found that alot better than the "How to draw comics the Marvel way" one.

I'm getting there but I am a terrable perfectionist (actually I am rather good at it) so I probably won't post anything until I am REALLY happy with it.
