  1. It was the -slow of Oil slick arrow, I was aiming for.

Fire was to ignite the oil slick (I dont know how it works).
  2. Assault riffle is probably the best choice in a group of 8 /rads. AoE nasty and you dont need aim.

When I tried, I found the lack of mes protection and alphastriking a problem.

A better setup would be 2 sonics, 2 colds, 4 rads. Maybe therms instead of sonics, but I kinda like the "bubble" for mez protection.
Your dmg and endurance would drop a bit, but it should be good enough. You gain so much dmg mitigation, I think its worth it.
  3. I was going over the sets to see if ther was any nice combos that seemed less used, and my eyes came across Fire/TA. Its gotta be awesome in 1on1's.

You get 2 single target holds, 2 single target immobs, An ice patch like power, 2 -perception powers, a -jump power, -res powers.

All of which are really, really cool in PvP.

The big questions is: Does the animation time ruin the combo?
  4. So when are we gonna fight Sanity Inc?
  5. [ QUOTE ]

Health is 3 slotted as I had some spare slots available. Plus more regen is good.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The added regen doesnt add surviablity! It moderetly lowers downtime (which has no use in PvP). The isnt the reason not to get it thou.
The reason why you dont want health or in anyway slot is defiance. It makes it much harder to use cause you regen over the good values.
Regen works by adding more ticks, and not how much you heal/tick if I remember corectly. So if the tick comes to fast, you cant get the blast of with full defiance.

Do you guys mind if im not in the pa drop team, i will if there isnt enough but i wouldnt mind being down there in the action , but i duno... i guess i will think about it

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mmmm , i just got my Empath after a years work to the required lvl and was going to try her out for a change instead of my usual place in the PA team.

If we are short on the night for PA droppers (we had 2 teams last time) i'll bring on Hib instead of Empath.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If hes only lvl45, I wouldnt go with him. You might get a lower lvl HO.
  7. Friday 19.00 UK time.
    Talos Arena - Emerald.

What do you prefer to fight blaster or controller? Scrapper vs. Scrapper is kinda pointless since its always a draw between skilled players.
  8. wednesday, fights, smooth ... Im good.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
...and a well balanced team will have a much easier way of achieving the same objective, such as stacked dispersion bubbles....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Stacked dispersion bubbles isnt always good. It makes you stand still, and that leaves you open to teams with lots of debuffs, nukes, AoE's in general.
A heavily fortified team can often be split up by a few good punches.
Besides if someone sonic cages the /bubble, you have no mez protection.

Kinslayer - PvP at high lvl's use 4-5 buffers/debuffers/control for every 1 dmg dealer.
Roles in PvP are very important. You have to nominate tasks. Some roles are flexible, but most arent.

As a buffer your team has to be able to trust you. They have to have the buffs, so they can adjust playstyle after it. A buffed up staker is almost unkillable if his opponents arent buffed themselves.
A buffed up stalker can run in kill the bubblers with little problem. They dont have the means to take him down. In the previous example.
When we start PvPing (which we do at lvl30), you will see the basic outlines for teaming.
1 kin, 1 therm, 1 sonic is mandatory in each and every team.
  10. [ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't say this unless I misunderstand you, it's the 'buffiest' of all Corruptor secondaries. It has 2 offensive powers, everything else is a buff or heal. If I wanted to play something more offensive or balanced, Thermal would be the last on my list, scratch that, it wouldn't be on my list at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Go with /rad or /cold if you wanna play more offensive.
  11. nightbringer_EU

    PvE, MA or BS?

The dmg difference isnt that big. BS is a little bit better in the AoE department. MA has a better frontload damage.
Eagle Claw does damage at the start of the animation, headsplitter does late in the animation.

MA can get away with having fewer attacks. You can cycle storm kick, crip. axe kick, eagle clae and crane kick.

While BS needs more attacks to have a full attack chain.

IIrc MA has a better dmg chain than broadsword though Im not sure here.

In PvE it doesnt matter all that much. Both sets a fine and the difference is minimal.
  12. I dont plan on hitting or holding anything.

My job is buffing/debuffing and healing.

Thaw is a must. In the arena it allows you to bring reds instead of bf's. In the zones it allows you to stay in the zone instead of running.

Range in shields and thaw... Have you ever tried to buff in PvP combat? Im still thinking about 2 res, 2 ranges as an alternate slotting. Maybe cutting the slots in my attacks since I dont need them.
Bitter Ice blast and Ice blast are for my amuzement only.
Holds are easily resisted by powers like thaw. Thats why I choose the dmg instead. I could have chosen assault riffle, and it wouldnt have gimped my build. Primary doesnt matter at all.
My biggest problem could be the slotting of the last powers, since I have never tried them.

End reductions in SS and Acro are a must. They are on always in PvP. The reason I prefer slotting acro and SS to the shields which gives an overall better reduction is my own protection from end drains. If Im end drained, I must be able to get back to healing as fast as posible, but I cant stop using my travel powers.

Grant Invis is for the stalkers of my team. The difference between the perception cap and the stealth cap of stalkers is only 10 yds! With enough grant invis/stealth it doesnt matter how much +perception the heroes have, stalkers can still get near the targets quite easily. Invis adds nothing to the regular hero/villain IMO since its easily countered. At lvl50 all scrappers will have focussed accuracy and can see me or my teammates anyway.

Super Jump gives me movement, and movement is what keeps everyone alive. He who doesnt know when to flee dies. A guy with melee attacks only cant kill a SJ'er unless he -jumps me. SJ allows me to stay near my team without fear of getting killed and besides I need acrobatics. Buffing doesnt suppress your movement so SJ is better than slotted hurdle/cm.
  13. Its an arena fight, not the buggy baseraid.

    BS/Regen build.

    [ QUOTE ]
You can live without stamina so early, my BS/Regen took stamina with one slot at 30, I didn't slot it with three until 37 (respec) and did fine.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aye. You wont need stamina untill focussed accuracy.

Get BU and DP earlier instead.

That doesn't count and you damn well know it!

  16. Come on guys. This should be a simple thread with "fightin' words". You're turning it into something negative.

Violators have every right to claim uberness. Hell, I do the same with the Paragon Defenders. They just have to back up the claim, and every thing is good.

    So please guys, behave.
  17. Good thing. Its looks good, and is therefor fine.

I like the fact that PvE interferes. Its gives a more complete feel IMO.
  18. WB man.

Tohits in aim will follow when I get the slots.

The endurance redux in shields. I gave it some thought. If we play in 8 man teams, we will have kins on the team.
If we use 5 people I dont have to use shields nearly as much, so I would rather have range.
  19. Thaw is a must - I wouldnt even considder going to PvP without it.

I dont like fly in PvP. I find it slow, endurance heavy and worst of all easily negated with the multible -fly powers.

This is a team build, and I fully expect others in my team will have grant invis for me too. Plus grant invis has tactical uses.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Also there is that one hero that will attack any other hero... If they think they can get away with it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Aye. Some of those arround.
  21. Does anyone have a list of toggle droppers for dominators?
  22. Ok, Im lvl 19 atm, so I still need to do some lvl'ling. So far Ive been thinking this build. Any huge mistakes?

  23. Gorgog.

    You have listed brawl index's.

Tankers brawl hits much harder than defenders. Iirc tankers have a brawl arround 90% of a blaster.
Defenders have a brawl at arround 55% of a blaster.

You gotta calculate with these too.
