    100% defender teams suffer in 1 point or another.
    100% rads - Mezzes
    100% Emp - Uhm. No
    100% Darks, same as rads and they are even worse at every thing rad can. Plus they have endurance issues.
    100% Sonics, Could work. Still the res cap is only 75% and you cant heal.

    100% Storm. Thats an idea, but I seriously doubt you can find 8 of them. The damage is ok, but I think mez protection could be an issue. A couple of spectral terrors on top of you, and your screwed. You dont have any slow resistance either which means Ice/earth trollers will be really annoying.
    100% Kin. These guy suffer from smash/nrg resistance only. The rest of the damage mitigation, is from heals. A team with a lot of defence, would be nifty against these.
    Also all that buffing might take too long. I still think this is one of the best solutions for an all def team. Everyone should get vengence, and with the added recharge from sb, you might be able to get it perm.

    EDIT: this thread is obviously as Syn said for the server population that have proven themselves within the PvP zones indeed since the teams are mainly consisted from the server champions and people that generally are very focused on PvP.My advice would be to start getting some practise in the Defiant PvP zones and maybe attend some PvP nights on Defiant to start getting the hand of it

    Well as I see it, someone was kind enough to tell him that he wouldnt get an invite, and explain how these matches work. I think you see it the wrong way TG. It wasnt to put him down, just to tell him, that there is a difference between lvl's of PvP.

    To make a tank/brute of any type cry run in with autobrawl on. Had 5 squishies in Sirens brawl a stone tank to death in a remarbably short amount of time before

    Why does it work with stone tanks? Ok I admit the mental image of this is quite disconcerting.. Instead of crying I'd propably click unstop and whack at least one squishy... Its not like tank toggles are any good in PvP anyway.

    The reason people say stone is cause granite cant be toggle knocked, but I guess you allready knew this.
    Stone tanks dont get granite till warburg, so it doesnt matter in Sirens.

    Focussed accuracy for tanks and scrappers, mind trollers, Psy defenders, aim/bu for blasters plus loads of more things.

    No, ice tanks arent very hard to hit through.
  7. We from defiant have a hard time getting a regular 8 man team for PvP (I know, I have). We dont have a lot of sg's with 8 or more PvP'ers. When we face you french guys, we brought a long 2-3 non experienced PvP'ers, and thats no good against a skilled group. And we need time to start playing as a group.

    Im proposing that we drop the number of players to 4 or 5 which should be a manageable for a lot of players/sg's.
    Perhaps still with the limit of no more than 2 of the same AT. I know, we would have more ballance issues, but I see getting more people interested as the primary concern, as this would give us more PvP.

    How does this sound?
  8. I think you read it wrong Apex_twin. He said defence prolly doesnt work cause there is too many power with either tohit buffs or defence debuffs in different sets, so stacking defence isnt the best idea. Thats why he preferes sonic.

    Powers like; focussed accuracy, targetting drone, build up, aim, fortitude, vengence.
    Lots of defence debuffs too; radiant infection, earth control (entire set), Radiation blast (entire set), Broadsword (entire set), Katana (entire set), tornado, freezing rain and [censored] loads more.

    I dont think Imaginary wanted those toons to stack defence. I think he wanted them cause of resistance to slow effects, and the bubbler for force bubble. Sonic doesnt get a similar power.
  9. Earth? The team Imag proposed has slow res on the scrapper and tank, plus AB for the blaster. 3 of them cant be slow'ed.

    This means you can only use the slows with any effect on the defender and controller.

  12. supression is 10 secs for all most everything.

    20 secs hold/stun/Immob --> 10 secs suppression --> 20 secs held/stun/immob.

    same with fear, stealth... almost everything.

    Im not sure intangebility is suppressed (sonic cage/detention field), but it seems that you are no longer able to perma it like you used to be. Could be suppression, could be lower duration. I only think this cause of the things I read on the US boards. I have only ever been hit by them about 5 times.

    I think something like this would be a good build. Make sure everyone has the shields on, and spam clarity when you have more time.

    Ignore most of your secondary set. It wont really help the team much.

    Havnt tried kin, but I think 2 runs, 2 end mod, 1 range is the way to go with 5 slots.

    Hmm. I would tend to think 3 res is a good thing. Helps the tank against the AV, and helps anyone who is taking damage. You dont need to spam it on everybody all the time. IMO 3 res is the only way to go.

  17. Trollers are used in different ways in team PvP, and you have to think about your role before choosing epic.
    In team PvP, its so important to stick to your role. Your teams has to be sure, you are buffing them, otherwise you gimp your team. The main problem in team PvP on defiant is the lack of good buffing/buffers.

    Protection trollers. Storm/ff trollers need all the protection they can get. indomitable will isnt a bad choice here. They are often main targets cause of their ability to protec squishies with hurricane/forcebubble. Actually FF's have their own mezprotection, so even here you have to think about before you take it. It will help against hold spiking of cause.

    Support trollers. These are basicly defenders, but with a holding primary instead. Emp and kin secondaries.
    Here powerboost is a wise choice since they add to the amount of healing/buffing they are doing.

    Fire is often a good primary for the aggressive/attacking controller. Yes, you can use trollers for damage, if the opposing team has weak mez protection (no kins/emps/sonics).

    Ice epic has a phaseshift power which is kinda nifty. Hibernate is really good, if the opposing team is trying to spike you + plus it adds more slows, which is very, very good if the team you are fighting has no kin buffer.

    my level 28 controller. This one was dificult. What's best in pvp shiver or artic air? Do i need to get stealth at this level? does chillbain have a -fly?

    Chillbain has -fly.
    artic air and shiver. Both are ok.
    If you wanna PvP, get a travel power. You cant rely on your own powers. If you die, no jumping untill inertial reduction recharges. Thats no good.
    SB needs 2-3 runs, rest are optional. End can be good. You use this power to protect your team against slowdebuffs, which is also why every PvP team should have a kin buffer.

    ID, great smash/nrg protection. 3 res in that power. Really helps your team mates against energy blappers.

    Deceive: a power with a 6 sec animation time, and of minimal use is in no way uber. Anoying when its on you, yes. Thats pretty much all. Oh, and tactics protects against it. 80% of all defenders have it, and it isnt uncommon on the rest of the AT's.

    I love that you have the taunts. It really can help your team, but they need more slots to be of any real use.

    You dont have enough vertical movement. TP is in most cases bad. Tp-foe is a trick. Good in some situations, not so good in others. I would get the same CJ/hurdle combo as you have on your troller.
    Slotting health is IMO a waste of slots, and you could use them in your taunts.
    I cant comment on attacks. I dint know katana very well. You have 4 attacks which should be enough for a full attackchain.

    My level 50 controller
    i need to drop something so i can get power boost. any suggestions.

    i've been gone for a while so i'm new to ED is cobat jump and hurdle a good thing for a controller?

    Skip conserve power and get powerboost.
    Skip deceive and get regeneration aura.

    Powerboosted regen aura kicks butt. It gives every teammember instant healing. Helps your own surviveability too. Thats important.

    Cj- 2 jumps, hurdle 3 jumps instead.

    Skip the extra slots in hasten and put end reds. in superjump and superspeed.

    Phantom Army has high base acc. 3 dam, 3 recharges in fine.

    Spectral terror could use more slots. Spectral terror is great cause its use and forget. It doesnt take valuable time.

    Remember this toon is a support build. You dont have time to deceice/hold much. You need to heal (you need powerboost for this), and buff your team.
