Tonality, thank you for the fast reply.
As far as budget, that would be whatever I can make on this toon. I'm decent at making money on blue side, but red side has been more challenging.
The main goal of this toon is to get to 50 prior to I17 so that I can earn a VEAT the old fashion way (by getting to 50). Once I get to 50 I'll look to do some form of a strong damage/survivability type character with a full IO build. Soloing an AV or two has always been on my list, but mostl likely I will make a different toon for that (as I understand this combo may not be the best for it).
I also plan on weaving some MA stories into this toon, which is part of the concept, but that has little to do with build/leveling. -
Hello Brute community. So I have a project in mind that involves an EM/WP brute and fast leveling. I know EM is not the most favored set, but I wanted it for concept reasons. I am new to brutes, outside of just low level tinkering, and was hoping I could get some help. Here are the questions I have.
On the basic template below, how is my power selection and timing of power selection (I'm level 5 already)?
How would I slot these powers with SO enhancements and when should I focus what slots where(I'm new to both sets)?
Are there any IO's I should be looking for on while leveling?
I know those are rather broad questions, but like I said I'm new to these sets. I appreciate any help or tips provided. Also, if it helps, I mostly solo PVE.

So i did some more tinkering and put slots in. I also abandoned the leaping pool for teleport. How does my slotting look for regular enhancements? Also, what do you recommend I drop for Caltrops? Last, how can I be effective and still get my travel power ealier in the build, I was hoping 24 at the latest.
Thank you,

Thank you for the advice. Anyone have any ideas on how to slot/build. This is what I have for power picks so far, but I would like to have my travel power earlier. I'll probably drop jacob's ladder later on too, after I have more attacks.
The only things that I still want, but need to figure out what to trade for are caltrops and blinding powder.

Hi stalkers,
I am getting ready to make a stalker for my first 50 villian. I am sold on the elec primary, but am torn with my secondary. I have narrowed down my choices to energy aura or ninjitsu. For concept reasons I will want both SJ and Teleport. Which comes first I'm not worried about.
In regards to play style I like to be durable and not have too many endurance issues. I am used to a kat/regen scrapper and love the clicky durability and massive damage I deal out.
This all being said, what secondary would you recommend? Ninjitsu seems to do well with the active play style and energy aura seems to have the long fighting/durability. I'm torn.
Thanks,
Nick -
Ok, here is what I have so far. I used generic IO slotting for now.

On my own critique, I'm not sure if I'm grabbing powers at the right time, same thing with slotting. I also don't like that I'm grabbing a travel power so late. I don't mind putting it off a bit, but not as late as I have it. The problem is that I don't know what to give up earlier.
Any suggestions/critique?
Thanks,
Nicoliy -
Anyone out there willing to help me out a bit? Right now I'm just going off of what makes me a better tank, but I'm limiting myself on attacks in the process. I can always respec later though if I need.

Hi,
After much consideration I would like to make a WP/Stone tank. I have been playing on Mids for a while and I am having trouble putting a build together. My main goal is to be a great tank that can take the worst kinds of punishment.
Thematically I would like both mallet attacks at some point and would prefer SS as a travel power. Can anyone out there suggest a good leveling build as far as when to pick powers and when/what to slot. It has been a while since I played a tank.
Thank you -
Hi all,
I recently returned to the game and I created a DM/SD brute last night. I have read a lot about various builds; however, they all seem to target end game. I am sure I will get there one day, but in the mean time, what is good while leveling? I do not believe I could afford any expensive IO sets so I may have to go without until higher levels. If I were to target my questions I guess they would be:
1. What is a good build while leveling (I'm not very familiar with sheilds)?
2. When should I slot what powers and with what?
3. Are there less expensive IO's that I should get while leveling because they are just that good?
I do want SJ for my travel power so hopefully that would be a non issue. I basically want to perform well in taking/giving out damage as I am most familiar with scrapper play styles.
Thanks in advance,
Nicoliy -
Looks like I'll be able to play friday for a bit, but the rest of the weekend I'll be sans internet while I move. Oh well, at least I get some time in.
-
Instead of stores spread out all over they should make a mall. It could be like atlas town hall with all the different stores, an Icon, and special missions. I could see one store being down for a day because a shipment was stolen and they cant sell again until some one recovers the goods. As a reward you could get like 10% off the enhancements if you were part of the team that finished the mission first.
-
I must say I got a good laugh from this one. Thanks, it's been a rough day at work. Just what I needed.
-
I like it so far. I think its Manticore that does it for me. He basically is taking a bad situation and making it worse to make it better. I absolutly love the last page of the comic where he **spoilers****spoilers*** shoots Statesman in the heart. I agree that its definately not the best comic out there, but its fun to me and it lets us see more of the main characters like States and Pozi.
-
It's on the City of Villains web site under Gallery/Movies.
Ohhhhhh is it sweet, I can't wait for it to come out. I do hope they put some game play movies up though. I would love to see some of the new powersets/archiatypes and locations in action. -
I'm not ready to cast judgement on issue 3 yet. Of the things I know of (epic At, dificulty slider) I'm excited. Honestly, I'm not even close to 50, so I probably wont have an epic till issue 4 time frame. I suspect the dev's will surprise us with something else too, and if not, oh well. I still have alot to do now anyway.

Let's see the quotes from Statesman.

here is a quote from statesman
[ QUOTE ]
As I said, the +1 minions are a bug.
The stun/mez/etc. powers in low level villains - that was a Design error. No doubt about it. A mistake - and one we're rectifying now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Statesman said that the +1 is a bug and the stun/mez/exc was a design error a mistake. and hes fixing it. give it some time. -
I realize everyone will have their own opinion on this topic so please don't take mine as a bash to anyone elses.
I personaly enjoy the low end content and changes. I agree that at times it can be difficult, even with the tanker I started, but I like it. For me I found the game increadibly easy to solo with my other characters. I feel the +1 mobs and red bosses in missions are really making me think and plan. I can see where some AT's could have a problem with this due to limited defence and strength and I can say in their cases their dissatisfaction is justifiable. I'm sure that the bug will be worked out soon enough to help with the missions, stuns and what not, so I wouldn't worry too much.
I for one am excited about the difficulty slider. I think that will alow those who need more challange to get that, and those who find it dificult due to build or whatever to tone it down some.
While in my personal case I choose to disagree with the OP, I do say there are valid points to the argument. Just bear in mind that the bugs will be worked out as soon as they can I'm sure and well all be able to go back to enjoying the game. -
I pray its on friday. I have a family I must attend to on sat and sun.

I just started using the SOD the other night and it is phenomanal. It crashed my game the first time loading the binds, but after that it works fine. Definately made fly a much more fun and useful power. THANK YOU for all the work on it.
