You live in Atlanta and have never gone to Dragon*Con? I'll be attending all nine days of SDCC and Dragon*Con this year. I'd be willing to try to make it to a CoX meet and greet, but with all the activities jammed into that weekend, I can't guarantee anything.

Will there be an official NCSoft presence/booth at San Diego? I noticed it's listed on the official CoX calendar, so I'm hoping. And if so, since SDCC is all about exclusives, there should be an exclusive DVD available at the NCSoft booth that gives the attendee a "Comic Book Geek" badge or some such.

With a little experimentation I came up with a combo I liked. I can't remember the top pattern, but I think it was just "Stripe". For the skirt I used "Radioactive" and they lined up nearly perfectly. The oufit still looked better with a belt though, so I added one anyway. I'll take a screenshot and post it tonight if I can.

I too have been wanting to make a silver-agey looking character lately. The questions I have for the costume gurus here are:

1) Which top looks better with the flared skirt option (the first choice under skirts) - regular tights or sleek tights? I have been told sleek tights are shinier, but I have a kind of crappy graphics card, so they look virtually identical to me (as do matte and shiney leather boots).

2) Is there any simple silver-ageish pattern (like "Fat Stripe") that can be applied to tops and continued smoothly to skirts? So far I haven't found one; the pattern doesn't line up on the skirt. This one isn't a huge deal because I can use a belt to cover the transition, but I thought I'd run it by you all anyway.

The potential problems I see with random, unnanounced invasions are:

1) Being able to get on a team in a low population zone on a low population server with next to no notice. That would frustrate me.

2) Losing all your street sweep targets with absolutely no notice of why they disappeared.

Neither of these is deal-breakers, but I think they'd upset more people than the surprise raids would please.

Thanks InfamousBrad. I read about the Rikti War just now on P-wiki, but I didn't find anything specific on the invasions. That's OK though, you've given me enough to go on, and thus I shall cause the rivers to run deep with their blood.

Can someone throw a newb a bone?

1) A previous poster mentioned getting a toon to a level that's capable of helping, does that mean the invasion will be limited to higher level zones? Currently my highest toons are 12th.

2) If the invasion takes place in lower level zones (KR, GC, stc.), I assume the Rikti that appear there will be of appropriate level to the heroes who typically patrol those streets? No level 30 Rikti in Freedom Plaza, right?

3) Other than the obvious fun of doing something different and kicking some alien tail, what are the tangible rewards of participating in these invasions? I get the impression there are badges to be had and at least one weapon to be unlocked; if so, what are they? Any temp powers? Special enhancement/salvage/recipe drops?

I guess some of this info may be available at Paragonwiki, which is where I'll head now, but if anyone has any quick answers, thanks!

I can confirm what you've heard. Guardian was very lacking in villains last night. I signed on with dominator and ran the Lockbox mission with about 5 different people, but when I switched to my scrapper, I couldn't find any villains who hadn't already run the Cauldron mission.

Still, I got all the Snaptooth rewards with my scrapper, and two of them with my dom. Need to go back and get the other three with her this weekend.

I did not notice that, thanks. Makes sense in retrospect, but given how long it took me to find him, I pretty much had to fight everyone else anyway. lol

I'll tell you what I learned last night - the first heroside mission is much easier, and faster than the first villainside mission. I solo'd both and I completed the Council caves mission with three characters in just over the amount of time it took me to do the CoT cave once. That could be because my heroes are better suited to soloing (my fire/mind dominator died twice), but it definitely seemed like there were a lot more mobs on the villain mission.

Thanks for the replies. This will certainly change my strategy on running these missions. I had planned to run them with the Alts I felt had the best chance of success, but they aren't necessarily the ones for whom I want the costume pieces.

One follow-up question - can you still be invited to do the DJ Zero mission, and recieve the final reward, if you didn't complete the other two?

I am mainly interested in the unlockable costume options related to the Spring Fling event. i.e., the toga, sandals, laurel, and heart pattern. With that in mind, I have a couple of questions:

1) If I complete the arc and unlock one of the options, say "Toga", does that give me the ability to clothe any and all of my current and future toons in togas, or only the toon who completed the mission?

2) If my toon completes the final mission and gets the toga, does s/he have to start all over and do all three missions again to get the sandals, or can s/he just repeat the third mission immediately to unlock the other options?

Thanks for all the hard work, Peg. I was looking for a new character idea so I could team with a friend on another server and your guide convinced me to try my first Fire/Fire Blaster. I ran him to 4th lvl last night and really enjoyed it. I plan to follow your intitial build exactly since it fits my concept so well. I may do something different than Force Mastery when epic pools open up for me, but I won't have to worry abou that for a good, long time.

I'll be jumping around too playing all of my characters for a little bit rather than concentrating on one or two. Mostly I'll be on Guardian playing the following:

Claiomh na hEireann (Sword of Ireland) - 6th lvl BS/WP scrapper
Officer Howard - 6th lvl AR/Dev blaster
