I had a kitty costume contest for the Legion of Catgirls a couple months back that was, well, without a doubt wonderfully successful, Albiet annoying short <;.;> lasted about 30 minutes when the goal was for it to be an hour long get together; but RL got busy for lots of people, myself included.

Still; it was fun. (I got to be judge <,< rawr)

But yeah, frustrating as all hell >.< You've all seen my costumes - maybe they're not 'win' worthy, and that'd be fine - except I've been specifically told I *can't* win <-.-> that's what bugged me.

I use catgirl as a racial choice, like human, elf, dwarf <x_x> why people must assume 'catgirl' means 'sexobject' I'll never understand. I want to break der faces >.<; (and Yumii would too... she's pretty violent if you tick her off >.&gt

I suspect not - I think being a veteran reward might override the level 20 requirement. Plus I doubt they're as taxing as capes are on the system >.> (And I'm pretty certain Trenchcoats were confirmed long ago as being level 1 available)

My biggest gripe about the rest of the forums has been 3 things:

1) Troll Posts - there seem to be more and more trolls lately and its driving me nuts - always someone who says *something* to get everyone in an uproar - and then they sit back and watch the fireworks.

2) Anti-catgirl sentiment. I can understand being annoyed when you get one of the really slutty types - but I'd be annoyed at them regardless of their costume. Instead though people just toss all my cats into the same pile with these others and it gets maddening - I've never won a costume contest in 3 years despite getting regular compliments on my costumes. None of them are 'nakey' costumes (in fact most are quite modest) and they're all organized as best as I can manage - but when I get into a costume contest I've been actively told "you can't win, you're a catgirl." That drives me up the wall, and the forums just add fuel to that.

3) PVP is ruining the game sentiment. I understand not everyone likes PVP - that's fine with me (hell, I've quit playing in the PVP zones because its not worth the crap I put up with to do it); but the whole "PVP ruined CoH" comments - which come up almost every time someone wants to make a PVP suggestion (regardless of what it is, if you suggest "I'd like a few more drones at the hero/villain base..." Someone's going to come in and tell you you've ruined their game...) Etc...

I'm sick of being singled out over things I like because others don't; opinions are great - everyone has em; I do too... but I tend not to sling it at people unless they've already attacked me.

And you're right Athyna, some of its just mid-issue doldrums... but some of it seems to have been a permanent fixture <x.x> I mean, I7 took 7 months to arrive and still... blahhhh <x.x>

Hmm... not sure how I feel about them as a vet reward... not *upset* about it too much; because unless they're the three year reward I'll amost assuredly have them ( my current account will be a year old as of October; my old account would be almost 3 but... err... well I'll not go into that explanation again).

The angel wings are super-pretty >.< I'm very happy with them; especially the droppy feathers >,<

Thanks all, glad to know I'm not alone. I used to really enjoy the General CoH chat and Suggestions (Hell, I'm the one responsible for the Mecha EAT idea for cryin' out loud.) But I've gotten so sick of the idiocy, the anger, and some of the ideas are even starting to bug me (I used to be very good at explaining why a given idea wouldn't work... now I just get mad which I don't like; because I'm not an angry person by nature at all <_ _&gt

But that list seems to be shrinking <x.x> people leaving or not reading the boards; some topics just being downright blagh. People picking fights. Anyways, I'm putting this here because that's how much I've begun to loathe the rest of the forums. The art forum is a nice safe haven - but it seems like the nice happy place I used to know has somehow vanished and the rest of the forums have de-evolved. Not nearly as horrible as WoW or comparable things... but its gotten ugly and I find myself comming ever closer to just ripping someone a new one rather than being nice, civil, and-or silly.

So I've decided I'm not going to be on any of the rest of these boards except this forum here, and the Events section for the Skulls and Hellions battle this weekend.

I just wanted to mention this "somewhere" so that people won't think I fell off the planet <~.~>m

I'll give you the best advice you'll ever get when it comes to art.

Do not expect to magically begin drawing perfectly <,< it will not happen. Its a long process and involves alot of practice - just like anything else <^-^> As for resources - I'm sure others can give you those (I don't use any myself <'x'> but I just want to encourage you to keep practicing and not be down on yourself.

You never "fall short" unless you're just being lazy in your work - practice practice practice - practice till your arms fall off - and then keep drawing with your teeth. Tis the only way to improve >.<m And *try* not to compare yourself to the art gods... <;_;> its depressing, I should know! <,<

I only really just noticed... but mine's got what I can only assume to be dirt on it... I never really noticed until I was coloring tonight and realized I couldn't tell what was a pencil mark and what was just dirty monitor >.<;
