  1. Question >.< Why is "Crap" filtered? <;_;> It seems like such a harmless word. Is there a meaning beyond "poo" I'm not getting?

    I've resorted to lots and lots of @%#! type swears, since I can't even use crap. It actually makes my characters sound even more foulmouthed <'x'>;;
  2. Small Update:

For some reason having re-opened the file caused it to jump 10kbs in size. I was able to get it back under the limit, but I had to cut a couple patrols, and more importantly, can't add any more writing.

(As in literally I'm within two letters of the limit)

It looks like a couple of the concerns I was hoping to address... aren't getting addressed <_ _> not until I get more file space. Sorry <;.;>

I did fix the typos and bios, and the animations I'm in-progress on; but adding anything at all at this point is impossible <~.~> *sadness*

    *edit*

Ok, with no errors, it's not letting me publish. ... Blagh ><

    *double edit*

Ok, it's re-published with the fixes I listed; but I had to actually *cut* some more dialogue. Even though I still had .43% left, ti wouldn't let me publish until I brought it down to .50% left.

I'm a little frustrated right now - it's small stuff mostly, that got cut, but having to lose details for seemingly no reason is... annoying. Especially since a big (and understandable!) request was for more details.
  3. Just wanted to take a sec to thank everyone who's been sending me feedback on my arc <^_^> (Some of you I couldn't mail back because of the discrepency between Global name and player name)

    Seriously, its a huge help!

    Issues on my 'bug list'

    1) Typo squashing - I'm going over the arc with a fine toothed come tonight to try to stamp these out. It's a little jarring to run into a typo <>.<> so this must be fixed!

    2) Character animations, there are a few buggy starting animations, and a couple that some have felt don't fit well due to differences in object held vs object used - I'll be trying to find better ones so this issue can be resolved.

    3) Bios - There are a couple instances of blank character bios; going to hammer these down as well.

<^_^> Again, major appreciation everyone who's played and sent me feedback - you've helped make this arc better for those who play it later, especially once it's on the live servers. So, thanks again!

And for those who haven't played yet, please feel free to send me comments/critiques either on test in game at @Yumii5, or over the forums via PM or this thread! Thanks! <^_^>
  4. Arc Name: A Super Team Is Born

    Arc ID: 8662

    Faction: Custom, Crey

Creator Global/Forum Name: @Yumii5 on Test, @Yumii on live; forumname is mistformsquirrel

Difficulty Level: Low/Moderate; EB at the end

Synopsis: Ninja Catpeople Turbo is a brand new team of heroes in Paragon City... they don't seem to quite have their footing just yet.

Can you help them find their place, even if that place might actually be the mall foodcourt?

((The arc is comedy with light drama, based on Sentai (Power Rangers) type stuff. It's what you'd call an affectionate parody with a slice of drama.))

Estimated Time to Play: ~1hr - Primary variable is stealth and your damage type.

Link to More Details or Feedback:

Link to the Mission Critique thread so you can give me feedback, good or ill! - Linky

*Notation* Arc ID has changed - I republished it earlier, it is no longer 4998, but rather 8662.
  5. I'm glad I could help Neverdark! <^_^> and thank you!
  6. @TeChameleon - Thanks for that <^_^> seriously, very happy you enjoyed it!

we talked about this in-game <,< but I want to mention it for those who were un-aware just as an FYI:

The Crey Tank thing is entirely due to the level of the missions, unfortunately. I'd actually wanted to use the full Crey compliment, but the only Crey above level 46 are tanks <;_;> This was actually annoying to me - though as noted they did fit the 'look' part pretty well! <^_^> But they're a bit too tough to kill to be 'fun' for long.

There's actually a small amount of dialogue that just isn't playing right now due to a few MA bugs: Namely ambushes do not speak <;_;> and patrols are sometimes wonky as well.

That stuff said, I'm going to see what I can do about fixing some of those things up <^_^> The spelling is easily fixed (thank you so much for catching those btw >.< I looked it over several times... but I was pretty tired by the time I finished <x.x> the dialogue bit I'll be looking into as well, the last thing I want is for part of the arc to feel "dead".

The weapon thing btw, is actually intentional <'x'> though I will look into possibly altering it (because if someone is finding it a detractor, it deserves a look!)- but the idea was that unlike 'real' sentai heroes, who get all kinds of crazy powers and weapons... these folks have stuff thats largely cobbled together - they're like Cosplayers but with more firepower <@_@>b (Hence the baseball bat on Green, which is my absolute favorite >_&lt

Anyways, I'm going to be picking the arc back apart this weekend to tweak some of this stuff up <^_^> I want it as good as possible for when Live hits!

Thanks much Chameleon! (And if anyone else cares to take a look, do let me know what you think <^_^> good or bad, I want to see what's what so that when this goes live, it's as polished as I can make it!)

    Arc:

'If At First You Don't Succeed'
    Arc ID: 2894
Length: Very Long (though not really)
    Missions: 5 (but quick missions)

Description: A routine mission to stop an Arachnos thief uncovers a mad plot to cripple Paragon City!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Good arc with a neat twist.

I have only 2 complaints (I sent this as feedback, but I want to mention it here too in case you miss it there) -

    [[[SPOILERS]]]

Trucco seems to already know you when you go back in time to arrest him. Given the situation, he should either be surprised to see you, or maybe confused that you are attacking him (given that the first time he *maybe* saw you was when you prevented his arrest). This is during the time travel bit of course >.<

The other problem is the plot to set Gamma Ray off... needs a bit more explanation. Not a lot, but it felt quite sudden to get back and then suddenly find out IP has been nuked. I'm not sure what to suggest though >.<

Still - really good stuff! I gave it 4 stars; and I want to particularly compliment the "Riot Leader" version of Trucco, he looked exactly like the prisoners until I actually looked really close!

    Arc:

    'A Super Team Is Born'
    Arc ID: 4998
    Length: Very Long
Missions: 5 (All but one of which is pretty involved)

Description: Ninja Catpeople Turbo is a brand new team of heroes in Paragon City... they don't seem to quite have their footing just yet.

Can you help them find their place, even if that place might actually be the mall foodcourt?

((Comedy/Drama - It's a Sentai (Power Rangers) spoof with a mild level of seriousness tossed in.))

Not sure if this should go in costume suggestion, or here. It's a suggestion for a new skin for a mace. Please give either a frying pan or a pot as a new skin for maces.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That would be *fun*! >_< I dig it.
  9. [ QUOTE ]
So my head is bubbling over with ideas, as I am sure everyone else is too! One of my ideas involves exploring an abandoned base whose defenses are still active! Will gun turrets be available as placable mobs? Both the pop up kind as well as the larger ones? What about proximity bombs?

In the lgtf there is a map with "defeated" mobs lying about near the door....will that be an option? Would be a nice story telling flavor!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Total agreement.

Traps would add a TON of flavor; and the 'defeated' bodies would be a great touch as well ><b
  10. I'll try to post some pics later, but here are my (sadly few) joke characters:

    1) Bigger Ninja - an 8' tall Huge modeled MA/Ninjitsu stalker; he's literally just an upscaled ninja >.< hence the name.

    2) Lolcatgirl - A catgirl who talks only in lolspeak. I can haz buffs? Kthxbai. DO NOT WANT! etc... I need to re-do her costume though, as its a placeholder at present.

    3) Mewer Spirit - I came up with an idea ~ 2 years ago and it caught on with my SG (Legion of Catgirls) for a time. The idea being we made cat-people clones of the signature heroes in CoH >.>

Originally I was Pawsitron; but I sucked at Rad/Rad; so I made Mewer Spirit instead. We also had Manticat, Stateskitty, Mewmina, Mewnaps (or was it Catnaps? >.< I can't remember), Miss Mewberty, Infurnal, Kittybell (Citadel) and a ton more.

We even had our own storyline <o.O> though I'd have to look it up on the LoC website to remember it. *sigh* stupid me getting distracted >.< since it was my idea, and I stopped playing with my char... it kinda fell apart.

We even had our own version of Longbow - Longpaw >.> (for reachin into evil's mousie holes!)

    Silliness! >.>

    4) The Fighting Game - A cosplayer who's been mugged one too many times; she's wearing a costume that's a tribute to Chun Li, Sakura, and a couple other Street Fighter characters. (Her alt costumes will be other mix-mash fighting game character costumes)

    5) Frozen Desert - A 3'9" catgirl with ice powers who just wants to be taken seriously; but everyone seems to think her name means "dessert" and that shes "adorable and cute".

    She swears like a sailor.

    6) Dizzy Kitty - A heroic mad scientist who's something like a cross between the professor from Back to the Future, MacGuyver and Batman >.> She can build a tank out of a McDonald's dumpster and stop a nuclear warhead from going off... but in the process is likely to cause a mass of property damage.

(Her super-heroing is mostly a means to pay off City Hall for the havoc her early experiments created >.&gt

    7) General Tsoo - A brain damaged former lawyer who believes he is a masterful Chinese chef/super villain, and that his chicken is truly magical. Was thrown in the Zig for attempting to rob a bank with a bucket of fried rice and some sweet and sour sauce.

He wears a conical hat, military vest, hakama pants, a glued on fu-man chu, and is tatooed all over his body with anime characters.

Sadly none of these chars get much playtime >.<
  11. Happity Birfday! <^_^> Also - you are younger than me <p_q>
  12. Hah >_< Awesome.

I had one last night in CoV to 'rescue' Wormy, a body-bag carrying Family. Buggiest. Hostage. EVER.
  13. Happy B-Day Alex! <^.^> I appear to be a couple days late; bu tthe wishes are there!
  14. <. .> having come back from hiatus just 2 weeks ago (and only coming back to the forums in the last couple days) - I am heartened to see Gil still at work <^.^> you kick [censored] sir, keep kicking!

Hey, remember, 50 is the new 30 <^.^> yer just a kid (and I'm even younger <@.@&gt

Also - Happy Birfday to you!
  16. Not bad at all given the program you're using <^_^> I think you'd do very well if you had access to something with a bit more OOMPH; GIMP2 isn't bad for that. (its what I'm using; though I admit, its kind of a pain in the rump at times; but better than MS paint!)

The lineart is very solid <^.^> YAY GAMMA!

I believe that using a little artistic license there are so many parameters you have to work with that can turn a 'horrible' or bland costume into a nice picture after all.

    1. Pose. Show it off from it's 'good' side. Maybe hiding something especially nasty behind the body or surroundings.
    2. Color shift. Sometimes colors only need to be tweaked slightly to fit better together. For example you can unify them by making them all earthy.
    3. Proportions. Downplay or exaggarate for effect.
    4. Detailing. Add small details or textures that make the costume more interesting.
    5. Lighting. You can always make the picture very, very dark

Hmm, maybe this would make a great challenge thread. Post your ugliest costume and dare the artists to make it worthy for publishing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed!

I'm not one of the more talented artists here; but you can do a *lot* with these kinds of things to turn even a character you think is 'meh" into something interesting.

That said? If for some insane reason someone actually wanted to comission me, I doubt I'd ever turn them down <;_;> It would be a weird form of validation - albeit I'd be quietly questioning their eyesight <. .> (or sanity >.&lt

    Pretty art yea!

    Ooooo <O_O> Pwetty <^,^> I like!

  23. I like the new ones <,<;

But! I'd rather have the option than just having them changed arbitrarily.
  24. <@,@> I see a Halo Scorpion Tank in the background!
