  1. Thank you all for being polite and courteous in your responses to my suggestion.

The basic idea behind my suggestion is to no longer allow players to create custom minions, custom lieutenants or custom bosses.

I suggest only being able to select primary and secondary power sets, designing costumes for minions, lts and bosses....then have the game generate the mobs within the map as the game normally does.

So no more Boss-only missions but instead mobs consisting of the power sets you've selected with the established minion-lt-boss per mob ratios as they normally occur.
  2. I'd like to take this opportunity to throw this little tidbit out once again.

It is my opinion that the Devs are going to change the custom critter creator in a way that a person will only be able to choose custom critter powersets that are currently available to players making an original character.

So when a person picks Dual Blades as the primary, they'll be forced to choose the secondary that current players are limited to when selecting DB as the primary.

They may change the costume creator in a manner that will cycle through the appearances of the minions, lts and bosses BUT the 3 different costumes will be created in conjunction with the powersets you've chosen.

As a result the only way a person will be able to create a single, unique boss is to set that particular critter at the EB or AV level.

As AE sits now it is the perception by some that the majority of AE participants are only interested in Boss-only missions. If the Devs alter AE in the manner I described then all critters, stock and custom, would offer the same gains in xp and inf., give or take.

Now to address the issue that any particular person's story isn't getting as much exposure as they would prefer....be realistic pls.

There are probably over FIFTY THOUSAND stories available through AE. The best way to get your story known is to start your own AE teams and run through your missions.

People most likely aren't going to just stumble upon a specific story in AE. Need I remind you there are THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of stories for people to chose from.

If you want your stories to get more plays and ratings you have to take the initiative and lead AE teams using your stories. If you're not satisfied with the number of plays & ratings after a month of leading teams..then guess what..you're just going to have to keep on leading AE teams using your stories as long as it takes.

    Okay.
  3. Although my post count does not reflect someone who's very knowledgeable with the game, I do have a theory that none of the previous posts in this thread touched upon.

It is my theory the reason custom critters have powerful ranged attacks now is to help balance the risk/reward ratio of AE missions to standard game content.

You see with game content the mobs, on an 8person team, will consist of a boss or two, 3 or so Lts, and the rest of the mob at the minion level(about 6 minions per mob?). With AE the payout has been increased per mob since each mob will consist of Lts. or Bosses.

By giving custom critters powerful, ranged attacks they've managed to balance the risk/reward ratio of AE content to standard game content.

This seems to be a logical explanation for the change, but then again I'm n00b.

Edit: I'd also like to take this opportunity to throw this little tidbit out once again.

  4. So I was reading all the posts in this thread and I saw no one posted the "real" reason this thread exists.

You can deny it all you want but you know the OP wants to make a petless Thugs MM for the obvious reason.

  5. I like to buy rare tech or magic salvage that has the best chance at selling at 1million inf. quickly.

I then buy bronze rolls with the remaining tickets. Mostly junk but it has been known to turn out the different uniques as well as other recipes that fetch six and seven figures.
  6. Debuffs are more powerful than buffs.

PD would not be as strong a set as DM.

    You can hate me now.
  7. I believe the trailer for the expansion has the Demon Summoner wielding a fireball.

    Fireball's aren't considered a melee weapon..at least I don't think..

    I'm a n00b BYE!
  8. I have a feeling the side-switching will only be available for ATs created once the expansion is live. The short movie for the expansion gives the impression those who are given the choice to switch gradually from good to evil are Praetorians.

The expansion might contain story arcs and task/strike forces that are made to either facilitate or prevent a full scale invasion by Preatoria.

    Then again I'm a n00b.
    What do I know.
  9. I can't speak for all instances but I have noticed CoT Behemoth bosses now have some sort of version of the SR power Elude or MoG. I noticed while running papers on redside.

Once he had a sliver of health left the team found we couldn't hit him for over a minute.
  10. How upset might some of you be if Demons turn out to be critters from the CoT line?

<ul type="square">[*]CoT Hordelings for your tier 1[*]CoT Spirits for your tier 2[*]CoT Behemoth, Hellfrost or Succubus for tier 3[/list]
  11. A person who creates an actual story is going to need more than one mission to tell that story. If you skip all single mission stories you'll make significant progress in your search for non-farms.

Perhaps the Devs will allow a filter by # of missions in stories....and might they clamp down on boss farms?

Will they now change MA in a way that a person can only make critters by powersets and not by rank?

Might they change MA in a way that the only custom bosses people can create will be of the EB/AV variety?

    Food for thought...start flamin'.

Reread my post. NPC's selling set recipes would be a result of the game losing the farming community.

    Brain. Hi how are you?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ok, so because both your post and the OP are vaguely related to farming it makes plenty of sense for you to rebut an opinion nobody has expressed and make statements that are in no way, shape or form related to what we've been discussing?

Fine by me, I'm happy to continue to bump this thread with you; I welcome further, intelligent input on the original subject.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The OP is describing farming as it is known to supporters and detractors but enough of that.

    Guess what..you won the debate.

You won a debate on the internet.

    Congratulations.

Ok -- so you've made one of the necessary, illogical leaps from "How to maximize ticket gain" to "I think the Devs should have NPCs sell us IO sets" -- where are the others?

The funny is farmers always say they're an important part of the game because they're the reason a lot of the highly sought after recipes 'n such are available on the markets for the rest of the community to obtain.

I argue if this is indeed true and the farming community was forced out....I do not find it out of the realm of possibility the Devs would simply allow the markets themselves to sell the things farming community blessed the rest of us with. I don't think perhaps 1 purple recipe per day or week outrageous.

The rationale for this would be it takes x# of runs for a farmer to come across a purple recipe. The Devs simply have to put a price tag on those recipes when the house puts them up for bid.

After all, they do seem to be working towards giving the community at large what they want in the new expansion.

  16. Only a matter of time before the MA won't allow all Boss, Lts. or minion custom critter missions.

Farm those bosses while you can folks.

And don't ask me how they'll do it. I don't work for Paragon Studios..I just know they will.

Conversation over! Thank you for time! Good night everybody!
  18. First thing you should do is use the My Creations--&gt;Published Stories tabs then click on the Edit buttom.

When you're on the final page of the mission creator there are icons on the top-center-left of the page. One of those icons is to Republish and Exit or something to that affect.

After editing your single mission or story arc, you click on that icon on the final page, your mission/arc will be republished with the changes you made.

There may be a 5 to 10 second delay on your story/mish getting republished.

Ah ok. I just feel the page is pretty self-explanitory "maintenace can occur at any time".

    Sounds reasonable to me.

Devs - is it so hard to give advanced warning about servers coming down? I doubt this continual unannounced "server maintenance", sometimes on a daily basis, is really that urgent. Let people know what and why you're doing what you're doing. We pay to play this game, it's not free. Pay us a bit of courtesy.

Are you getting tired of the game nerfs? If so, plaese speak your mind here.

    Silly n00b.
  22. Not sure if anyone's mentioned this already but you can kill two birds with one stone now with dual builds.

Level a bane or crab up to 22, slot SOs/IOs and have fun. You can even slot them at the same time, sets exluded, and alternate from one to the other whenever you feel like it.
  23. I don't think MA will ever give the same amount of xp as official game content because it has two distinct advantages to game content. No need for mentors and no travel to mission required.
  24. I don't think you'll get any support from the forum regulars. It wouldn't bother me in the slightest if they instituted your proposal since I've come to the conclusion for myself that I'll only use AE for tickets now.

Xp has been nerfed so much that you're better off leveling up like we all did before i14 was introduced. Unfortunately there are still a lot of n00bs on the servers wanting only to run AE farms. They either don't care about the xp nerf or they still don't get it that xp in AE is non-existent.
