  1. I know about /loc

Is there a way, without me being a computer "superstar", to input a location waypoint so my toon can follow compass headings or at least "see" it on the map?

The last game I played had a slash command.

I have been using badgehunter for locations for exploration, but find my flip to web, then back to game method tedious. Praetoria does not have the nifty descriptions like primal earth in wiki.

    Base Stowage

Here's a couple of things I like to see added with base stowage. Since I doubt that the developers have time to do this, I seek advise on ideas that folks have been using to "solve" this.

    1. Add sort feature for items to be arranged alphabetically (like bank vaults), name of depositor, or date deposited.

    2. Add feature to name shelfs. Ex. A through C.

    3. Add note section for shelf to help folks in SG know any special "rules".

    4. (Minor) Have an option to display/not display additional item details.

Thank you in advance for any mature feedback and/or help.

The cape should have a jetpack overlaid above it. It WILL clip horrendously.
    Thank you
  4. I am lost when it comes to the costume aspect of the game. Specifically:
    1) I did the cape and aura missions. Where can I access them? If this was missed in dialog I appologize since I was being "lead" through missions.
    2) How does one "earn" a free costume token?
    3) What happens to the cape (I don't know since I can't figure out how to get it) when using a jetpack?

    Thank you.
  5. NPC(s) that join teams that follow/fight and can die do not have health bar window so team can heal if necessary. I know that this info can be accessed directly by selecting them, but in the heat of the battle they might be forgotten.

Can we please be provided a window so our "friends" don't die violent deaths when it could have been avoided?

    Looking for sg

Thank you for the stowage information. I can't wait to check it out.

    Shared bank

Would a shared bank help enable finding craft items between server toons? I know I have trouble remembering what toon has what. This also would keep us from shifting toons to craft and send stuff via global mail.

This bank can have the highest/lowest stowage space available per toon. Ideas? Feedback?

    Looking for sg

I wish to become a better player. I know that being a "lone wolf" can stifle this to some degree. Pick up groups (pugs) are a hit and miss (ex. tank this week pulled, by running around whole room, a full room of red and purple mezzers and blamed it on the healers). <sigh>

Looking for sg that is mature, active and helpful. I will bring the same to the table. I'm in my wife's sg, but she's not on much because the graphics in this game make her vomit.

I am retired, so this is my job.

This note is dealt with on a global level, so you can check the note even when the player is on a different character.

I hope I got the details right of using the system, I'm sure someone will point it out if I got it wrong.

By the way, this topic is probably better off in the Suggestions and Ideas forum in the For Fun section.
Thank you for the info. I had no idea about a "for fun" section. I like the idea of "stars", but I still wish they were linked with friends list. I'll have to actually see what your talking about to make an educated post. Again, Thank you
  12. I feel a notes section feature in the "friends" list would be helpful. This is the only way I remember folks who wish to team, raid, play evenings, etc... Anyone else think this improvement would help them?

You may want to check out ParagonWiki if you ever have a question about anything in the City. It really is quite an amazing encyclopedia and is being updated constantly.

You may also want to check out Mid's Hero Designer, which lets you build up a character's powers and enhancements, change things around, and look at the stats your build will have. It's very handy.
    Thank you, I will.
  14. Thanks again guys for all the welcoming posts *blushes*. This one armed fat white guy feels right at home...Why are you talking in third person? No I'm not! Yes you are! Are not! Are too!...

  16. Whats this "fire alarm" post I get every now and again in CoH? I assume its a "all hands on deck" to kill something or another, but not enough info for my newb brain to process.

Our parallel paths continue. I was born in L.A. and after Navy retirement settled in WA state in Port Angeles to be near my folks who lived in Squim. There I had 2 thriving business...a store and a salad bar restraunt. Then my stroke hit.

The "straw that broke the camels back" was 3 trips a week to the Seattle VA hospital for therapy. Not being able to drive, the 6 hour round trip (if we hit the ferries just right) took us both out of the action 3 days a week. Not to whine, but that was pretty tough on the whole business gig.

Not sure what kind of graphics card she's sporting or if these same settings are what is causing your wife's motion sickness, but it could be worth taking a look.
Manoa. I assume you live or at least from Hawaii. I was stationed out there 11 years in the Navy and worked at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Was in an outrigger club (stroker), ate "da kine", and one of those haoles that spoke pidgin. My local girlfriend, I was on the big island for 2 years as a research diver for UH, danced hula. I really miss da poi, ophii and lau lau. Mahalo for da post.

I'll pass this info to my wife. Hopefully it will help her.

Yep thats me. I only played with that guy on my first day. He is now benched ready to be stripped and deleted. I have been playing (sorry cant remember CoH names yet) my tank, mezzer, mastermind and peacekeeper(?). I usually don't like to play melee classes, but the "auto taunt" seems to work well. I hate having to run around catching those nasty "bugger" NPCs.

I choose purple because that's my wife's favorite color. I know thats sounds corny, but I'm one of the wierd ones...I really like my wife. By the way, she is also my primary caregiver since my major stroke. Believe it or not, I'm the "lucky one".

She's chinese. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Chicago. When her mom saw my picture the first time she told my wife "so..he's white and fat". I wen't from that to being her favorite son-in-law. You never know.

On a game note. I still am learning "the ropes". Thank you brave people for teaming with me and showing me the CoH way. Constructive criticism always appreciated. Its the only way I'll get better. See you in the game. I hope I don't suck.

I know depth of field effects sometimes give me a headache.
Not sure but it makes her so ill she vomits sometimes. We played together tonight, she had to stop after a quick mission. It hit her so hard, when her friend invited her for drinks after 4 hours after playing, she declined saying she still felt ill. She still plays Everquest and was in a raid yesturday that lasted 4 hours with no problem. She really likes the game, but I feel bad asking her because it makes her ill.

We lived aboard a sailboat, and she would get motion sick sitting on the pier. We wen't to the movies when it happened. I've seen ALOT of movies.

I've had pretty good luck with bugs being fixed too. I've even been in a few beta tests for CoH (none recently though) and seen enhancements I requested implemented. But some bugs are hard and take longer to squish. The problem with Mastermind pets becoming unresponsive has been around for a while and I'm afraid might be with us for some time. The others, I'm still hopeful.
Thank you for the suggestion. I sent "the list" to the grand pooba himself. Are we a "squeeky wheel" or what? <holds breath for changes>

    Thank you for your suggestion.

I have faith in this dev team. Without going into details I submitted a suggestion. It was implemented in next update. I told my friends in Everquest and they came over the same day. Miracles do happen. I'm an optimist, with a touch of realist. My wife is the pessimist. Like you said, there is room for improvement.

Also, in the past with other games my "wishes" got shot down by the fourms. I agreed to their logic and recended my "wish" (Sorry tinkerbell). Thats why I read all serious replies with an open mind, and hope others do as well.

    Summary

    Bugs
    1. Issues are curser disappears sometimes. Workarounds.
    2. Team members, in zone, sometimes missing status info for health/endurance. Workarounds.
    3. The curser disappears sometimes. Workaround (I haven't tried yet)
    4. I forgot this one sorry. Mastermind pets stop responding and stay at zone line and refuse to be dismissed. I read on in game help that a mm had this issue and so have I. The "help" suggested /release pets. I have another plan, find the bug and squish it.

    Suggestions:
    1) Create a team member pet window. Workarounds, but still on my wish list.
    2) Curser size not adjustable. Workaround (I haven't tried yet) Neither here or there.
    3) No speech integration. Still on my wish list. Third party provider like Everquest 2 does? Maybe a perk for premium users on next expansion?
    4) Target of target window. Workaround. Still on my wish list.
    5) Shared bank. Still on my wish list. Workaround is the global mail sytem. Thumbs up for that.

Let me add one other wish. A recruitment window ingame for super groups. I know about the npc. The one I'm used to has list of online "recruiters" (volunteers choosen from the supergroup that don't mind answering tells) and a soft button to contact them. Additionally, a multiple playstyle synopsis (raids, casual, organized, family oriented, etc...) is provided to help folks contact a super group that matches them.

Devs- I'm told by a coh GM that the devs read these. I left my last game of 11 years paid playing, and took 5 people with me, because they (Sony Online Games) refused to listen to the community regarding issues. Additionally, and I know business must make a profit to survive, they became way to greedy. This greed even continued after weeks of server downtime after the "hacking" incident. Shame on them.

Players- Please continue to support (or at least logically debate) any on the list above. Remember the parent company of the developers work for you...the customer. If you don't stand up for yourself, they usually reduce the development "fix it" team and you have to live with the "bugs". By the way, I rather be playing instead of typing this.

I'm guessing you mean slotting more of the same type in one power? (Say you have 3 slots in an attack and you put one accuracy and two damage)

Then yes, they will work together. Due to diminishing returns however it's not worthwhile to slot more than three of any one type. There are things such as frankenslotting and with the incarnate powers you can get around the ED to some extent, but they aren't really important to just learning the game. For specific advice on how best to slot your character you'll want to head down to the appropriate AT subforum and ask there.

In this example, yes. Assuming you have sprint on then the both will increase your runspeed until you hit the speed cap (which you can't do using those two powers alone anyway).

Multiple powers or buffs work together until you hit a hard cap, at which point they still "work", you just don't get any benefit.

To get the bonus from Set IOs they will need to be slotted in the same power, yes.

Again, the subforum for the AT you're interested will be the best place to get slotting advice. If you're going to be playing with builds you'll want to check out Mid's, if you haven't already.
Thanks...I think. I went to UT as a engineering major, spent 20 years in the Navy and I still don't have a clue what you said. Guess I'll have to "hit the books". You know the statement "Can't teach an old dog new tricks"? I must be an old dog.
