  1. I really like the concept of it all, but it just seems like too much work for a glorified "Delete Button."

And besides, if the devs wanted people to gain extra XP all the time then they would just let the exploits that happen in AE go on.

If you subscribe to mids being accurate then:

    Mids Unslotted-
Fire Blast unslotted: 21.46 dps and 154.53 dpa (6 second recharge)
Zapp unslotted: 3.76 dps and 140.69 dpa (24 second recharge)
Midnight Grasp unslotted: 11.3 dps and 189.94 dpa (15 second recharge)

Mids 6 slotted with purple (Hecatacomb or Apoc)
Fire Blast unslotted: 84.13 dps and 353.45 dpa (3 second recharge)
Zapp unslotted: 12.83 dps and 324.98 dpa (12 second recharge)
Midnight Grasp unslotted: 43.74 dps and 418.75 dpa (8 second recharge)

Yep I would take fire blast every time.

Same here. The numbers look great, but it seems to be a bit of an oddity. The rest of the ranged APP/PPP powers it's either one or the other. The damage is good, but everything else is high, or the damage is low but everything else is low. This seems to have the best of both worlds. Seems too suspicious.
  10. Oracle, are those numbers in Mid's accurate on Fire Blast?

If you look at the ranged lightning attack in Mu Mastery the numbers are vastly different.
  11. Here are some changes that I made. May have changed too much, if so, I apologize. But here it goes:

  12. I've had it happen once while coming out of a mission on an ITF. I've been putting in a lot of hours and still only the one time.
  13. I'm positive I'm not alone in this, but if XP was removed from AE then I'd rarely use it. I don't care how good the arcs or stories are. If I wanted just a good story then I'd read a book by a real author. If I spend an hour in AE doing XP-less content then I wouldn't be able to help but think that I could have spent that hour getting XP, progressing, and doing some good content all together in the real game.

It's a wonderful place to get through the 1-20 levels. No traveling across maps, different zones, hospital is right there etc... And for the long time vets who are just tired of the 1-20 parts of the game. Not to mention it was and is advertised as a place you can do all your leveling from 1 to 50 in one place.

Now, IMO, if you ask me, as a whole AE is just too much trouble than it's worth. I'd rather them spend their resources on the actual game then having to deal with all the exploits that AE has come up with.
  14. I don't see what the big deal is. I agree exploits need to be handled with swiftly, but to be a 78 month vet and THIS is what causes you to not log in? Some spam?

And a lvl 50 asking where the tailor is is just too much? Tell them and go on your merry way. It's so incredibly easy to avoid that riff raff that is AE. There is absolutely no sense in letting something so incredibly trivial ruin YOUR gaming.

When you are on a mission do you pout and stamper and think about all the people that are exploiting AE? Highly unlikely, so let the devs deal with it and play the game.

There were stupid people and exploits before AE and there are stupid people and exploits after AE. Just how it is and will be. How you let it mess with your gaming experience is entirely up to you.

    Hey!

Awesome that you are using a variant of my build. I hope it's doing as well for you as it is for me. I love it.

Since my build doesn't have Stamina in the first place, my head about exploded when I heard the news of the inherent.

I'm still toying around with some different builds in where I want to go. My first choice has me capped at S/L/E/N and 40 in F/C. Still being gapless in the attack chain and still having a 217 DPS(which I noticed is the highest dark melee non shield DPS), but I may be able to do higher with this new build.

I was able to drop the Body Mastery pool and I went with Dark Mastery and chose Petrifying Gaze and Dark Blast to be set mules for the Basilisk IO set and some Thunderstrikes for recharge, added defense, recovery and recharge.

I'm still trying to figure out what direction I will go with the Alpha slot. I'm good on recharge so I won't do that. My accuracy is good. I'm leaning towards Damage, but even then I'm not sold on that. It's going to be a lot of fun figuring this out.

But I have some really big goals in mind
  17. There are people who, instead of listening to what is being said to them, are already listening to what they are going to say themselves.

But you don't want to listen to that, you want to try this concept build of yours and then fail terribly at me. By all means, play what you want, but don't complain when things don't work out the way you want it to.

Nobody is telling you to not use that power, or even take away any of your fun. I do the same thing. There are just some powers that I just like to use because, well, I wanna! But a great benefit to having that optimal chain is when you have those moments you need to hunker down and wail on an AV, EB, or anything that you need some serious single target damage.

    There's your answer.

What you are describing doesn't sound so much of an "attack chain" but more, "I'm just going to use what attacks I have up." Getting down a solid, gapless attack chain will be much, much more efficient and damaging than what you're doing.

The attacks you use may be damaging, but you have to consider time of animation and Arcanatime when talking about optimal attack chains. There is actual hard evidence about SL needing to be included in your attack chain as an attack and not a heal.
  24. You are looking at SL wrong. It's not a heal. It's an attack that happens to heal. The benefits of using it as an attack outweigh the benefits of using it as a heal. If you are looking for optimal, which you said you are, then you MUST use SL and slot SL like an attack. There is really no other way around it.

That has crossed my mind several times during this discussion.

I have a DM/Inv scrapper myself and it holds 2 purple sets and the PvP +def IO, but I'm doing things on that scrapper that probably less than 1% of the gaming population does. It was built for a very certain thing and if it weren't for that I wouldn't have the purples or the PvP IO because it would just be overkill. I just like to create my own "end-game." Right now when I do regular content on this scrapper it's kind of boring because of how easy it is.

And that leads me to wonder the same thing you are of whether he is getting the best bang for his buck.
