Just because you're in SG mode doesn't mean you automatically get Prestige. You still have to do things.
[/ QUOTE ]
Good enough?
[/ QUOTE ]
Please point out how this confirms that you need prestige for building a base. All it says is that prestige and SG-mode is related. -
Just wanted to say that we still do not have any redname confirmation that prestige will have anything to do with basebuilding.
-
While prestige may or may not have something to do with base building is one thing but the thing I believe is the most BS with this rumor is that prestige would be earned by entering SG-mode????
That's not something which is believable...
-
People, as I posted before there is more evidence pointing towards influence for base building (and upgrading) so do not get all flamed up here.
-
Hrm, If you check out the interview linked in this thread it clearly states that bases will be built by spending influence. So untill a red name steps in I will still think that inf. is what counts for building bases.
-
Buhu, here I was waiting to read up on some juicy gossip regarding I5, I6 and CoV...
You get 5 stars for providing info but the thread get's 1 star because of boring info. -

Yep, but that would mean you are prob. high 20 before friending with him (Long Jack I suppose). So any magic would already be slotted while natural and tech have to do all Long Jacks missions as well and as for science and mutation...

He's the second contact in the Striga arc. If you start out your 20s with just those missions, you can get his enhancements around 21ish.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, you need a lot of defeats to accomplish that. With my latest character I entered Striga as soon as I hit 20. I have just finnished Pebbles mission and started on Long Jack and I am already 25.
Granted I do not solo (so I help with other missions as well) but that's meant to be (not an exeption).
[/ QUOTE ]
I got the second Striga Isle contact at lvl 21 (no debt) but the third makes you wait until you are 25.
[/ QUOTE ]
How did you accomplish that even soloing on heroic you should at least be 22...unless you stealthed missions that was not "kill all". -

Well as far as I know you cannot sell ench. in Striga right now and unless you are magic you cannot buy any usefull either (at least from pebbles who is the first you friend with).

Hmm, a lot of this does not look good. I wonder if Statesman is loosing his perspective in what he consider fun. A lot of the changes only propose a harder (more challenging according to states) game when it comes to lvl and get good stuff for your character.
Some of you might think this is great but not me. A game where you can play for hours and not feel like you are making progress is not fun for me. Several changes in the past has already turned away from the casual gamer to adress "problems" that hardcore gamers have.
Here are some comments:
Desperation: Sounds somewhat interesting but as several mentioned already, poor defenders who will be constantly harrased by blasters for not healing the "right" way.
Also a big problem for blasters in the high end game is the alpha strike from mobs that can send a blaster to the hospital directly. I cannot see how desperation will solve that problem.
Stores: This is the kind of **** I am talking about. I can understand why he says the things he says but it would be devastating for the casual gamer who just logs on to do some missions and have fun.
First of all the chaos and wait when everyone in the team has to go to all corners of Paragon just to sell and buy ench. between missions. Second a hardcore gamer will get what he wants from drops in a reasonable time but for the casual gamer...think not. With luck he/she will have the main powers slotted before 50 while hardcore gamers will set up there own stores selling all the left over. Not my kind of game.
Nerfed: While I do agree with States that one should not grab aggro from 50 even minions and have a easy time I do hope that he do the right thing, which is not to lower defense and resistance caps. Instead go with the very good suggestion to make resistance more like defense and make it scale with the mob lvl.
Yesterday I played rugged missions with a full team. I played a stone tank and for the most part I had to tank perhaps 20 enemies +1 (guessing 14 minions, 4 lt and 2 bosses). With the support of my team I could do this and not visit the hospital and I had a great time (as did the rest of the team). This is fun yeat challenging and you make good progress (XP). I hope States consider theese kind of scenarios.
Stamina: In the missions described above we had an emp. defender with RA which meant very little downtime. All in the team agreed that it made it so much more fun not having to rest between every little battle and instead focus on tactics when needed. Little downtime = FUN! I "rest" my case -
If you rolled a character before you know that when you reach lvl 5 you will be sent to the Hollows and that means through Atlas Park at that lvl. So to reduce long travels (= more action faster XP) you start in Atlas.

Wow!!! Amazing!!!
As other's have said:
How did you get thoose Freaks to dance?? -
Pew... you dissapoint me Stateman.
Be a man and admit that SS/SJ was a problem in PvP and it was to hard to change it for only PvP, hence it affects both PvP and PvE.
Theese vauge and transparent reasons you give only fuels the flames. Do you think we are 5-year olds that will believe anything you say? Please do not treat us like morons!
Do you not see that it is not the actual change to SS/SJ that is upseting your players, instead it is that the game is beeing balanced for PvP. We are upset because you try to change a really great game to achive something impossible (balance in PvP).
I said it before and I say it again:
Any change to PvE because of PvP balance is a development failure.
Please be a man and admit your failures! -

I'm sorry, I'm not smoking anything, nor am I trolling.
I agree with the orignal statement that PvP should not affect PvE. I stand by my opinion that the devs are keeping to that rule very well.
The perma-scrappers are no longer possible. Good! I have a 47 regen and I never took MoG because I felt too guilty - I team with a now 50 invincible tank and he lost HIS perma power. As he should - and now I can't do perma MoG, and all is well.
The accuracy debuff in the travel powers sucks..I hadn't noticed it before. But it evens them out. An argument could be made that fly deserves a speed boost now though.
So, perma scrappers nerf, travel powers nerf, and some minor changes and bugfixes. Is this the end of the world?
I still don't see it, sorry. Are you guys taking this as a sign that the devs will be more loose with the rules later on? I still think all changes currently on the test server are just perfectly fine.
Why is the latest set of changes so bad to cause multiple threads like this one to pop up?
[/ QUOTE ]
Let me ask you a question and please give a honest reply:
Do you really think the change to SS/SJ would have happen if there was no PvP in issue 4? -
[ QUOTE ]
Is this about perma-elude and perma-MoG? Those were powers that needed changing LONG ago, when the tankers lost their perma-unstoppable.
I agree with the idea that PvP should never affect PvE. I also believe the devs have done a great job of keeping that in check.
So, no complaints here. There have been PvP changes that affected PvE too but those were all warranted.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, what the heck are you smooking? Either you are just trolling or else your in total denial of the current changes. -
Agree
Any change to PvE because of PvP balance is a development failure.
Cryptic you need to hire some new SW-developers... -
