Quote:Sounds like you had an idiot.Yep. In fact the Grav/FF previously mentioned was a 5 year vet that had PL'd his Grav toon. He thought he was supposed to Dimension Shift every thing and then anything he missed was supposed to be Detention Fielded. He ran Force Bubble constantly so any melee focused toons couldn't benefit from Dispersion Bubble and he made sure that he pushed stuff off of all the debuff patches. He was really fond of Worm Holing stuff all over the map because he was "saving" everyone.
He single handedly flung everything except the squid nicti off the temple platform in the first mission of the ITF. We literally had to clear the entire map to find all the romans that were in the spawn guarding Sister Solaris. The TF went downhill after that.
If I had to avoid every team with a certain AT/powerset which at one point caused the rest of my team trouble, I'd be forced to solo. -
Quote:Sort of like how you keep referring to loyalists as Nazis, right? That doesn't make the whole concept any less knuckle-draggingly moronic - quite the opposite
That clip just reinforces the fact that there are actually some things that are so bad, so absurd, so childish, so punishinly stupid, so toe-curlingly embarrassing and so stunningly half-witted that they wouldn't even look good in a comicbook game -
And what about Okami, pray tell?

Quote:You're trying to tell me something. Now, I am delighted that you and others have no problem with the idea of, say, a Gone With The Wind trial where your Incarnates fight the Boss version of General Sherman, in a new blighted a-la Boomtown zone called Burnin' Down Georgia. That would make NO SENSE in COX, much like rainbow-colored dog-girls who fight with 9' swords in their mouths [?!!] MAKES NO SENSE EITHER. You can namecall all you want, will not make it less true. 'Ave a nice day, mate.

Quote:You do know that the chances of a 4 year vet playing just as badly as any 3-day newbie is about 90%, right?Yep. I usually check vet badges first though. Far far far too many bad experiences with bad grav players. I once was on a 3 hour PUG ITF (I was helping a newbie I was trying to mentor) that featured a grav/FF controller. If we had kicked him we'd have been done in an hour.
I won't go into that particular missions details again lets just say that I won't stay on a team with a grav player that I don't know unless he/she has at least 4 years of CoX experience and even then its a first 5 minutes type thing.
To date I've never teamed with a "good" grav player and the recent "update" to grav means that there are lots more "bad" grav players out there. To save myself the hassle I just don't team with them. -

Quote:I chalk it up to them eating too many cheetos and having high blood pressure.Good, I'm not the only one to realise how fething stupid that so called analogy is. People always wave a worst case scenario around like it's the norm...
*Edit*
Oh my!
Why didn't you just ask? I got a WHOOOOOOOOOOOOLE fridge full of sparklin' orangina with your name on it! And it just

Alllllllllllllllllll the way

Quote:Ooooh my!Like there aren't furrys already here....You know Bad_Influence goes all Hyde and sprouts multi-color fox ears with piercings, rainbow colored fur on his body, buckle boots with legwarmers and a bikini with an conspicuous bulge...It's pretty scary, actually
It's time to delve DEEPER into this....STEAMY paradise.
Goodness gracious, just imagine all the things that could happen to me in there! Oooooh!
Pass the Orangina.
It's ok, Influence. We all have other sides. -
Wait, how does 4-legged animal rig = furry? I'm confused.
Also, I kinda hate furries, but I'll be damned if some of the people in this thread aren't making me want to agree with my boy Leo. Okami had a wolf fighting with a sword. Granted, it wasn't in the mouth, but I don't see people saying that was a dumb game. And if they did say it was a dumb game, well, that's probably cause they think Call of Duty is the bee's knees. -
I won't feel like I'm playing WoW until all the character models look like something ripped from Timesplitters 2.

Quote:Not sure when I said I wanted it, but heySo you admit you want a direct rip off of Palutena's Bow? Shameless.
More specifically, the Bow of Light was never originally supposed to do what it does due the more 'modern' take on Kid Icarus. Even further, let's be honest; the Bow of Light is no longer a 'bow'. Pit fires 'Arrows of Light', yes, but that effect is purely cosmetic and it simply a burst of light energy in a shape that amuses the 'bow-like' shape the twin blades hold into.
If anything Palutena's Bow is more like Palutena's Squall at this point, while Pit fires Spirit Gun shots out of index finger.
Either way, Bow Melee has always been one of those things I rolled my eyes at, personality. I also don't even have many sources of them being anything note-worthy in history (feel free to correct me), and seem to just be a spawn of the "PUT BLADES ON EVERYTHING" phase of life.
If nothing else, it'd be TERRIBLY unwieldy and the bow would take massive performance penalties due to the (pointless) additional weight.
Really, just do the Monster Hunter route; very study and deadly arrows that, if needed, can be used as improvised melee weapons.
But really, bladed bows are pretty dumb. Kill it before it reaches you.
It was more me wondering why you were trying to tell the can and can'ts of a video game character's unrealistic bow. -
Quote:I'm glad you're there to tell us the properties and abilities of magical weapons granted by godlike beings!Yeah, because that wouldn't be called out immediately. Also, that design was stupid. A bow that splits in half couldn't bend and increase the power of the shots.
Tell us how hedgehogs can't run that fast, too. -
Quote:Just like dark control is a cheap clone of dark miasma, and fire blast is a cheap clone of energy blast! That's been more than enough info to tell me this powerset looks and feels like a cheap clone of Titan Weapons and/or Street Justice, which were cheap clones of Double Bladed Weapons.
I'd love to know what sets you played, cause they weren't Titan Weapons or Street Justice. -

Quote:What's funny is making an (Archie Comic) Hyper Sonic vs. anyone thread and see people try to make serious arguments. When I was in college some of the gamers I hung out with would have a weekly "who would win" night - it was basically like a debate club where each debater was assigned a side they had to argue, and they had a week to research and develop their argument.
Yeah, I hung out with HUGE nerds. And it was great.
Even Superboy Prime wouldn't last against that cheating *******. -
Quote:The thing is, they don't change the shoulders or anything, so they end up looking completely horrible. Like cartoon characters or something.<_< My main used to go around with minimum physique/hip slider >_> In my defense she's suppossed to look teenish.
Though, I've had it to the half way mark, to it's current about a 1/4 away from minimum setting.
I also miss the days where my 5ft tall character actually felt short when I played with any PuG, now, 5ft tall comes up looking tall to a lot of other characters
But I don't recall seeing that look being popular. What server?
Truthfully, banded gloves, large boots, belly shrts, if it wasn't for the disco bottoms (I only use them when combined with a skirt, as I hate the short shorts look of that costume piece), it sounds like something I'd make!
But then, I've been making that look since I started playing back at the start of i3 ^_^ I love the large boots and banded gloves look!
It was virtue and freedom from what I saw. I probably have a picture of one in my screenshot folder.
*Edit* Looks like I can't find it. Oh well, not missing much. -
Quote:That look is so kawaii desu ugyuu. It's like none of you have seen the multiple of belly shirt/skirt/baggy socks look that seems to be popular (and I fully admit to useing
)
What about the horrible looking minimum physique slider/minimum hip slider, cat ear, reaper face detail, belly shirt with long sleeves, huge gloves, and disco (short shorts with thigh high socks) bottoms that was going around a while ago? Now THAT was a stupid look. And the bad thing was, 2/3 of the female characters had it.
