Thanks for all the replies and tips.

1) im not worried about io'ing toons. i have several 50's and approx. 600mil spread over several toons. i'm not gonna try to purple them out due to the ever inflating prices. i use commons in pve and don't have any problems at all and i don't pvp. i usuallly just sell the recipe drops. although, i do try to stock up on the 7.5%'s.

2) i am part of a SG with my main toons that has 2 fully loaded bases to coaltion with for teleporters. my wife just wanted to play around with creating a base and decorating it. i'm just clueless as to what all is needed to make it functional.

3) i have everything open to every toon to be able to edit the base whenever needed. i'd hate to coaltion with people that could just come in and do whatever, ya know.

what i'm running into atm is that it seems like im going to need a larger plot or something. i don't have the room for a 2nd oversight room for another Combo Power unit and don't have the room for an Energy AND Control room. i tried to get just one, with the recommended power/energy item but it alone didn't fire up my 2nd tp'er.

You can't FARM, try RANCHING.

Unai gives the BP farm and Harvey gives Demon. Again, DO NOT kill all. Leave a mob and exit mish and select a different mish and then reselect the Demon one.

ALSO, you can't have but 2 yellow books active so make sure all your contacts are completed so you don't get half way thru Harveys arc and can't get more missions.

Ok. That's what i was afraid of. lol. I'm putting up a Rag and an Arma to sell and trade up prestige for the base. I know, it's not worth it but it's just a small family SG with really only me getting prestige. lol.

I have 2 small rooms atm with porters. 1 has power and is working fine. The other one isn't glowing, so i'm guessing it needs power. I currently have 1 Combo Power and Control Unit in the Oversight room.

Do i need another source of power? IF so, what, and where(room wise) would it go?

I currently have the Oversight room, a Med Bay, a Workshop, and the 2 small teleporter rooms.

Well, given his post count and activation, he/she may NOT know all different advantages of each type of "blaster".

Example, Energy produces KB. Ice has more holds, Fire has great damage. So forth and so on.

Let's try to be a little more helpful. It's hard to ask specific questions if you don't know what to ask.

Being paired with my favorite debuff in the game with /Rad, i'd say go Fire for the damage. Maybe even Fire/Fire since you have a mitigator in your partner. If you gonna solo, I'd go Fire/Ice. JMO.

Well, what i'm looking for is the process between the SOLID that you speak of with ICE and the GAS that it ends up at after it has evaporated. It's a strange stage called, WATER.

As far as powersets, i love to play powersets, not too good at creating them. That's why the Devs are Devs and i'm just a player. lol.

I thought it would be hard to do, BUT after unlocking the Epic pools on villians and seeing the Water Spout and how sweet it looks, i've changed my mind.

I'd like to have some more.

What is your playstyle? That's going to be the easiest way to level. Pick a powerset that you suits YOUR style. My faves are:

1) Ice/Rad Controller I can easily tank with this build. Awesome holds and debuffs.

2) Shield/Fire (or SS) Tank Loads of AoE goodness. After the Shield Charge it gets REALLY fun.

3) Fire/Shield Scrapper Same as above.

4) Dark/Dark Scrapper Just looks awesome.

5) You can never go wrong with a Fire/Kin though it don't get fun til 32.

6) And any controller with /Storm

I don't play with Blasters or Defenders as they don't fit my play style and can't ever level them past 4. lol. It really depends on how you like to play. Good luck and if you're on Justice look me up. Global is the same as my forum name.

At the price of the IO's now days i'll prolly just go back to SO's and build a very nice lookig base.

I'm not a big fan of the market either. I'm going to start messing with it some but it's gonna cut into my play time and my alt time. Grr. lol.

Fulmens, i have several 50's i do nothing with IO wise. If you could teach me the way of the master to make tons on inf, i might would even but up prestige. I know it's not worth it ratio wise, but 200-300 mil could prolly get me a nice full base. Not sure but would help alot. lol.

Well, i think it's a really high ratio. I spent 10mil inf on 20k prestige.

I just started a family SG and don't plan on inviting anyone so i don't have to worry about losing anything from the bins. We filled the 15 members with our 3 accounts easily but we still only have 3 rooms, a vault and a couple bins.

My opinion is unless you have a decent size SG with active members it's gonna be really hard to have a fully functional base. Hopefully we can keep it going with just us 3. We'll see. But i won't be spending millions of inf on prestige. 10mil inf for 2 mil prestige, i might, but not 20k.

I just answered this in another section but i forgot to add powers.

If you really wanna survive i'd take a Stone/Stone tank, a Fire/Kin troller to help the tank run in granite and a Fire/Rad troller for debuffing. Ice/Rad trollers are also fun to play.

No need for anything special. However, i like the idea of a tank, scrapper, controller.

I run with 3 others and we have no tank, no healer and we are in our late 20's and no deaths. It really all depends on knowledge of the game and powers.

I wonder why if you log out of the game while in the SG base and log back in, you're not in the base? I'd like to enter in sitting in my king chair. lol.

I agree with Blackavaar on th Doms. You get the control AND the attacks.

Personally, i would want to get with a sword type because you can't get a saber until 35. That's a long wait if you do missions.

Possibly an Elec/Dark Brute. The Cloaks and Oppressive Gloom would be cool after you Lightning Rod into them. Just my thoughts.

Same here. I played 2 games (this was one) around 2004 when my son was born. I spent more time on them than time with my newborn. The pc was still new and shiny and so was my gaming exp. It put a major strain on us.

We are better now, and with a 2nd baby, i see him alot more than my first at this stage. lol. I hate it now, but it was a learning experience. We have been together for 15 to date.

She even has her own CoH account now and we team a couple nights a week and when we have free time on the weekends. Compromise is the key to happiness, IMO.
