Teleporter Power Question.
You are going to need to build up to the power and control rooms with their subsequent Tier 1 power and control sources. The starter unit is really set up to power about 1 teleporter along with a med bay.

Yup, the combo unit will only support 1 Teleporter and a Medbay, or 2 Teleporters with nothing else. You're going to have the work up the prestige for an energy room with generator, and a control room with a real control unit.

Ok. That's what i was afraid of. lol. I'm putting up a Rag and an Arma to sell and trade up prestige for the base. I know, it's not worth it but it's just a small family SG with really only me getting prestige. lol.

Seriously, don't waste the influence by converting to Prestige. You'll get a lot done all at once and then you'll realize just how much you could have done to outfit your toons. I really recommend just outfitting your toons with better stuff to generate Prestige faster.

eryq2 - I can offer coalitions on a couple of servers to get you the TP access. There are others here who will also be offering. I have all TPs on Liberty, Infinity, Pinnacle & Guardian (all blueside) and most of them on Triumph (redside) if you want the coalition.
Alternatively - although it's a bit of a PITA, since it's just you playing, do this while you save up:
Give all members of the SG Base Editing rights. Switch out the beacons on the working TP to the one needed at that moment.

I've got both a SG and a VG on Virtue that can offer full telepad access to all zones for red and blue until you're set up as well.

1) im not worried about io'ing toons. i have several 50's and approx. 600mil spread over several toons. i'm not gonna try to purple them out due to the ever inflating prices. i use commons in pve and don't have any problems at all and i don't pvp. i usuallly just sell the recipe drops. although, i do try to stock up on the 7.5%'s.
2) i am part of a SG with my main toons that has 2 fully loaded bases to coaltion with for teleporters. my wife just wanted to play around with creating a base and decorating it. i'm just clueless as to what all is needed to make it functional.
3) i have everything open to every toon to be able to edit the base whenever needed. i'd hate to coaltion with people that could just come in and do whatever, ya know.
what i'm running into atm is that it seems like im going to need a larger plot or something. i don't have the room for a 2nd oversight room for another Combo Power unit and don't have the room for an Energy AND Control room. i tried to get just one, with the recommended power/energy item but it alone didn't fire up my 2nd tp'er.

You can't have a second Oversight Room & Combo Unit, sorry.
You will need to have a Control Room and an Energy Room with a Mainframe/Orbits of Control andGenerator/Energy Crystal added to you base. Depending upon your room layout, you may have to upgrade the plot, but you can put all that plus Workshop & 2 Teleporter Rooms on an 8X8 plot.
Don't be concerned about coalition members coming in an taking your stuff - they can't. Only SG members can take from the base storage and then only the ranks that you set (per bin now, yay!). That can't be changed in the Base Editor either. Also, coalition members can't edit you base.
So, your wife has caught the base building bug, eh? Welcome her to the club. Most of us will give tours at the drop of a hat if you or she is interested, BTW.

I went ahead and upgraded the plot. With the layout that i had, i couldn't get the stuff situated right. I have the rooms now, i just gotta get the goods. lol.
As far as the bins, i set it so that each toon could get/give for my alts.
Aux items attach to a main item. For instance, the Power Crystal (arcane) or Basic Generator (tech) are the main items, and the Crystal Focus (arcane) and Circuit Breaker (tech) are auxillary items that attach to those main items. Auxillary items typically boost whatever it is the main item is putting out.
The main control items are the Magic Axis (arcane) and Mainframe (tech).

Essentially, once you outgrow the combo unit, you have to switch over to dedicated control and power units, each necessitating their own room.

So you're looking at:
Basic Generator/Power Crystal: 200,000 Prestige
Mainframe: 50,000 Prestige
Database (Probably at least two of them to exceed control of the Combo Unit): 50,000 Prestige each
Control Room 1: 100,000 Prestige
Energy Termina 1: 100,000 Prestige
Total: 550,000 Prestige
Essentially this is the entire prestige output of a single toon levelled 1-50 running missions on Heroic.

And to my mind this is the big bottleneck to getting the small SG/solo base up to speed. The repricing helped some, but as I pointed out in a different thread, it sure would be nice if we had some way to get prestige (a la the way to get added Inf* my selling stuff at the CH) that could help small base builders out. Note that I do NOT consider the current ridiculous conversion rate as worth doing at all.

Well, he could drop a few alts in there for the bonus. That could get him a decent chunk of the way there. Though, if he's dealing with only one or two accounts, that might be a bit difficult if he's involved with other SGs on his alts.
But yeah, I see what you mean (and I still remember what it was like being dirt broke prestige-wise.
IIRC, the actual conversion of inf to prestige is something like 50/1 when you are earning it. If the devs reduced the conversion rate to that level, I'd have ZERO qualms about throwing a few hundred million inf at my SG.
Or, when in SG mode, give the toon a slider to determine their inf/prestige ratio. Default is current half inf + prestige. Allow for quarter inf and 1.5x prestige. And allow for zero inf and 2x prestige.
A lot of the time at 50, most of the drops are worth more than the piddly amounts of inf you rake in per-mish anyhow.
Going to warn you, Base Editing is a totally different grind for levels. True, it's a heck of alot easier now, but with every new purchase comes that hunger for the next shiny toy.
Well, i sold a few purps and traded up for prestige. It sucked to say bye bye to all that inf. lol.
I upgraded the lot, got all the power i needed to support 2 tp'ers and the tables. With 2 teleporters i get 4 zones and with oro, i just put zones not easily accessed. That should be enough for us. I don't think it's worth getting all tp'ers with the Oro, now. But that's me.
I was able to get all the member bonuses with my 2 accounts and my cousins.
All in all, i only spent about 300mil in influence and what ever prestige we made in missions this week. Thanks guys for the inputs.

You're talking to someone who's completely disassembled and reassembled his base countless times to get "new shiny".

And I can attest to the fact that it looks darn good.
I have 2 small rooms atm with porters. 1 has power and is working fine. The other one isn't glowing, so i'm guessing it needs power. I currently have 1 Combo Power and Control Unit in the Oversight room.
Do i need another source of power? IF so, what, and where(room wise) would it go?
I currently have the Oversight room, a Med Bay, a Workshop, and the 2 small teleporter rooms.
