Continuity aside, oh man that was a really good movie.
Oh and that cameo (not Stan Lee), yeah I know everybody in my department at work is going to be thinking of me when they hear; "go --->censored<--- yourself", yeah I sorta say that alot. -
Damn, another good idea stolen
Well actually I had thought about this years ago for a punisher type hero movie.
Pretty cool to see it RL though. -
Oh yeah, anything edible with aloe in it should be suspect
Tried straight aloe juice one time. Its ahh... an aquired taste

Quote:+ err whatever the count is up to now.I'm of the opinion that cosmetic options should have a dual-path to acquisition most of the time: you can buy them, or you can earn them. I have stronger generally balance-related concerns with powers and abilities. Pay-to-accessorize I have no problem with. Pay-to-win I think is generally radioactive.
-
Quote:Now why is that? Its a good way to generate income for the game and the boosters dont provide any "I win" buttons.I will never pay money for something I can get in-game. I don't pay for half the the boosters as it is. I wish they would stop making them altogether.
I really cant see the problem with booster packs for what amounts to fluff. Its a tried and true model outside MMOs. The core game is just like the core books for an RPG you want the shiny stuff, you pay for it. Its the same with just about anything. There are base models and then there are the upgraded models, options cost. -

I figured as much and I see its got a 360w generator attatched with peak torque occuring between 3500-6000 rpm and thats where an engine is most effcient at peak torque (highest BSFC or Base Specific Fuel Consumption).
Yep thats how I would have done it. No pesky mechanical tranmission and the engine can operate at peak effciency by dint of having to only drive the generator which powers the ducted fans and crontrol surfaces.
Hard to tell if its air-cooled though? It just seems like it wouldn't since a water-cooled engine adds weight with the heat exchanger and coolant.
Add in some roller bearings for the crank and rods with full floating pistons and you wouldn't even need an oil pump (colloquially known as splash and pray oiling, as a full roller recipocating assembly needs very little lubricating oil). -
Boy are you headed for many bitter, bitter disappointments in the future.
[sarcasm]
But I feel your pain;
I bought a Mustang and Ford refused to upgrade it from GT to GT500 - the bastards had the unmitigated gall to charge me for it.
Same thing with TSR/WOTC/Hasbro - I bought the core books and the bastards made me pay for the supplaments.
Bioware, the money hungry bastards that they are made me pay for Dragon Age II and Mass Effect II after I had purchased both DA1 and ME1 (although they did give me an extra copy of ME2 for free after buying DA2) Same with Bethesda and Fallout.
I just dont understand it? I have a job, I pay taxes, I should be getting everything else for free

Quote:The major reason for why this jetpack can fly so much longer than others is that it runs on petrol, not any special fuel or propellent.
Hmmm... I wonder if its air-cooled and a 2-stroke powerplant, and I wonder if its hooked to a generator that powers some electric motors?
That'd be a really effcient way to power the jetpack if your using gasoline as a fuel source. An air-cooled 2-stroke would be pretty durable as well as light with the only downside being noise and pollution which 2-strokes dont do so well on, but if your looking for power density and reliability, its a good way to go. -
See what happens when you mock somebody you arrogant ********* newscaster

Quote:That is bad ****!steampunk computer, ftw!
I am sure that this was probably posted before....however steampunk computers are just full of win! -
Dunno about time gated, but I'd like solo stuff that took about four times as long to aquire compared to a trail - if the trial took 3 hours, I'd be happy soloing for the same amount over a 12 hour period.

It all starts with a great costume and a good backstory with clear view of what you want your character to be.
When your thinking of a backstory, try starting with this;
Quote:Then try interviewing your character (as silly as it seems), ask the who, what and why they are here? Was your character born that way? Did they suffer some tragedy (as an example, I have both a primal and praetorian WarMain - primal WarMain became a hero because his wife was killed by Crey agents looking to strong arm him. Praetorian WarMain became hero after the Resistance severly injured him and killed his wife). Your character has a story to tell.Real Name: Does your character have an alias?
Occupation: What does the character do outside of its activities as a hero or villian
Identity: Secret or Known?
Legal Status: How does the government see you? (legal citizen of a country? Illegal immigrant? Vigialnte or authorized hero?)
Place of Birth: Hatched from an egg? Manufactured? Grown in a petri dish? Unknown?
Marital Status: Single, Married, Divorced, Widowed?
Known Relatives: Got any family?
Group Affiliation: Hang out with any clandestine organizations, secret government groups or part of a super hero team?
Base of Operations: Paragon City? Rogue Isles? Another dimension? Another planet except when those primatives on that mudball they call earth need your help?
Answer those questions and write a good bio for your character (and dont just stop as the in game bio limit)
As an example;

The bio is kinda short and its long on technobabble but its how I tell WarMain's story. -

Even if they are prisoners, its slave labor. Performing labor to pay off your debt to society is one thing, profiting off of somebody's labor in such a situation is something else (slavery) entirely.
-
And the sad part is, people dont give a... [expletive deleted]... damn. Seeing nothing wrong with forced labor providing them an easy path.
Give it 5 seconds and someone will post in here how they dont have a problem with a criminal doing something like this because, well they are criminals and criminals derserve as much even if they are arbitrarily placed in such conditions ( this guy's case for being a whistleblower). -

Quote:Easy enough fix, just include text somewhere saying that those costume options are purchased seperately when you select them.This is really, REALLY good idea! The software's already there, they'd just need to update it. I'm not sure, however, if they should include the purchasable costume packs or not. On the upside, it would really expand the Independent Costume Creator's options, but I fear people might feel cheated if they then went in-game and couldn't make what they saw.
Quote:Actually, doing a new version with booster pack items included but clearly labeled would work for both new customers and existing ones. New users get a taste of the robust creator, existing customers get a taste of booster packs they haven't purchased before committing.
And cool forum name Seldom! I have a boss that proves you can fail upward if you know the right people and his nickname is Seldom (as in Seldom here, Seldom gets the job done, ect) -
Quote:Hah, good point, but Walmart doesn't seem to inspire nerd rage like Sony does. If/when your scenario comes true, you can bet someone hacking Walmart is definetely into it for criminal gain.When somebody breaches Walmart's servers and makes it know, THATS when we really need to worry.
Many people don't know that Walmart has some serious computing power and data at their disposal. And hundreds of millions of credit card numbers and names to go along with them. -
