Never say never again
[ but Patton was wrong a couple back] -
I would move my characters off Freedom in a second if the transfers were free. I have been considering moving three of my characters and paying the 10 bucks for some time now. I haven't only because I don't know if I'll even play them significantly in the future. I was never a fan of Freedom, but I did make a bunch of characters there because I like the high population servers. More so in the past because I played at off times. Now that I play during primetime more often and now that there are hordes of new players with AE farm poor skills, Freedom has become much worse. It is near impossible to find a good PUG now even when there are 1200 players in the mix.

I would love it if a few zones could be infiltrated by the opposing faction. Villains in Talos, Heroes in Nerva, etc. With a few restrictions I think this would be great fun. The infiltrators could not be too high or too low for the level, so villains in Talos would have to be 20-30 lvl. Then badges could be added to how much destruction and how many opponents could be defeated, before the obvious GM style gangbang would ensue once the infiltrator was discovered.

Also you can check in options that you have Prt Scn set to screenshot with UI.

Transfering influence is very easy and risk free. You will lose a little in fees. I have transfered infl to other characters many times.
Go to the WW/BM with your poor character and find something that has zero for sale. lvl 20 DOs are best, a belt or an amulet often have none for sale. Go buy one in the store (mutation or whatever). Put it up for sale at the WW/BM for one infl more than you paid. Log off. Log on the rich character. Buy the item for much much more than its worth.
Done. -
So I made a Robotics/Traps over the weekend and got her to lvl 8.
I like the powerset combo a lot so far so I think I'm going to make a
run of it. Looking ahead my only curiousity is which traps powers I'm going
to take.
I am taking seven bots powers (everything but repair and rifle blast), assault and tactics, heal other and heal self, fitness health and stamina,
combat jumping and superleap.
I am definitely taking web grenade, triage beacon and FFG.
I will not take caltrops.
So of the remaining five traps powers, what would you skip??
Thanks for your time. -

Can we get this thread up to 50+ pages too please? The forums don't have enough I15 Badge Changes Rage yet.
Eco.
[/ QUOTE ] 50 pages is relative anyway. It depends how many posts per page somebody has in their forum settings. 50 pages for one person might be only 25 for another.
Edit:
For example, for me, this thread only had 1 page until I posted this reply.

You should get a badge for viewing a post in 50 post view mode.
That is a lot harder to achieve than the remaining MA badges.
Combined! -
You will get the temp powers if you complete the arc, as you would have normally when leveling. I got wedding ring a second time, full charge, but third times and after will only be 5 minutes charge, I also got bow and arrow again (full charge) and I have gotten Amy (full charge) several times.

There is a world of difference between "fairness" and "equality." Everyone has the same opportunities to get purples as I do. This is fair. My opportunities to get an expensive commodity are not limited by how many friends I have, whether I like the same stuff as the Devs, or anything beyond my ability to earn inf. If I have them and you don't, I can tell you exactly how to get them. If you put in the effort I did, you will have them. Fair. The same goes for the "grindy" badges. Obnoxious, poorly thought out, but ultimately fair.
My chances at Dev's Choice and Hall of Fame are entirely dependent on how many friends I have, whether I like the same stuff as the Devs, and luck. In other words, a lot of factors besides my ability to create a good arc. If my arc is as good as yours but a Dev just happens to play yours instead of mine, you get Dev's Choice and I don't. Not fair.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed. Completely in agreement with you on those two badges. Not the other 87 though. -
If you didn't read the OP and started in the middle somewhere, I do NOT want equality. That was kind of the point.

Not to mention I hate people who have this holier than thou attitude as though the game was some magical paradise of equalness before IOs and the advente of the market turned the game into a [censored] dystopia where a privileged few sip wine and dine on the innards of innocent children while the poor huddled masses beg for scraps. I was here before then, i assure you, it was not. If anything, the IO system and the market made this game a billion times more newbie friendly. These days all you have to do to afford SOs is dump a few common salvages either gotten via regular missions or the AE, supplement it with a lucky merit roll or two, and unless you wanna start playing the market for money and IO sets, you're set to level 50.
[/ QUOTE ]
You must be smoking crack if you honestly think this is true.
The market IS what broke this game. I have been playing for 32 months and before IOs I received ZERO emails from RMT total. Total. Now I receive four a day. The market IS what created huge inequalities in the game.
You dont think there are a privileged few with a lot while the masses beg for scraps?? Are you [censored] kidding me?? Go to Recluses Victory and click on some lvl 50s and see the list of set bonuses, they are too long to fit in the window, then go to PI and click on just as many 50s and you will see lists a fraction of the size.
If you honestly believe what I quoted, and I think you dont believe it you are just trying to get a rise out of someone, but if you do believe it, you are really out of touch with reality.
[/ QUOTE ]
1: RMT does not prove the game is broke. RMT are not fun, but theyre easily ignorable.
2: I have a huge list of set bonuses. a lot of my friends do too. We're all hardcore roleplayers. Most of us never farm, and spend most of our spare time soloing, teaming with the SG, or sitting in the SG base typing in local about our day at our make believe school.
3. The market is about as hard to make money on as taking a dump. The only possible way to lose money instead of make it hand over fist is to be one of those morons who needs everything RITE NAO and cant stand the idea of putting in a few lowball bids and sitting on them for a week until they are filled.
I don't farm. I don't pvp. I rarely even play my 50's. I still have at least 6 characters with over 50 million influence and a few hundred million in IO sets.
See, thats the hilarious part to this game. The ONLY way to be part of the poor huddled masses, is to be too damned lazy to use basic logic about the concepts of patience and buying low and selling high.
But I'll be nice and give you a hint. compare the prices of a high demand recipe with its crafted enhancement counterpart in price. Then you'll see this is not a game where money is hard to make. Its a game where theres so much spare cash that the average moron will fling an extra 30 million at you just to not be bothered with crafting.
Not that you'll believe me or listen to me anyway because people like you are always too dense and caught up in your lazy whining for equality because "omg y cant I haz purples for free"
[/ QUOTE ]
Thank you for agreeing with me. The Devs have not gifted every character with a bunch of purple sets because a tiny minority have begged to get them for free. However, they are going to remove a huge list of badges from people who have taken the time and energy to earn them, because a tiny minority of whinners want them gifted to them. They are leaving in MA badges that take no time or energy to get.
The game is not balanced. As you said very lazy people dont have piles of money. However, now very lazy people can have badges. You and I see eye to eye on this. If you want to take time to learn to win in the market you are rewarded, lazy people are not. I feel the same should apply to badges, and the reason I started this thread, lazy people should not be awarded badges. -

In the other thread Synapse said
". . . they were unobtainable by a large portion of our players, . . . "
SO WHAT ??? Honestly do all badges HAVE to be attainable by most players, in MA?
They certainly are not in the other badge categories. My blaster will never get Empath. Why should MA be different ??
The point of getting a BADGE is that it is difficult and rare !!!
Some Badges (not all) should NOT be attainable by MOST players.
What are your thoughts ?
[/ QUOTE ]
That was stated as being only one of many reasons why some badges were removed. The entire quote with the ellipses filled in is:
"This is because they encouraged farming, because they encouraged aberrant behavior by doing one thing over and over again, they were unobtainable by a large portion of our players, or earning them was completely out of a player's hands and in the hands of other players."
He doesn't explicitly state that all badges must be attainable by most players.
Also, "obtainable" means different things to different people. The ski jump badges are obtainable by everyone in theory, although they are not obtainable by everyone in practice.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know. That's exactly my point and the reason why I started a new thread. I want to know what other players think about this statement.
To me the some badges should NOT be obtainable by most players [characters], ie my example ' . . . my blaster will never get empath'. -
[ QUOTE ]
So defeat badges are grinding? Then all of the defeat badges should be removed? I dont think there was anything wrong with most AE badges but some needed to be changed or removed but not as many as they are doing. Does everyone not want to work for anything anymore want everything handed to them?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes they are lowering the bar so that everyone can wear a badge. Making the meaning behind the badge valueless.
Why remove the badge to rescue 50 hostages? That takes some time but certainly a lot less time and energy than killing 200 toxic tarantulas. They are making MA badges meaningless because everyone will have all of them. Most players dont badge so trying to find and kill 200 toxic tarantulas isn't important, but MA is super popular so all of a sudden those badges must be very very easy to get so everyone playing MA will have them. -
[ QUOTE ]
My thoughts on badges generally, are that there should be some easy to get, lots that take a little bit of thought/planning, and a few that are hard.
. . .
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree completely. That is why I am so angry with the proposed removals. -
