Juggy, I thought of ou art as not needing much imprvement when I first saw it. Now I'm convinced I was wrong because the quality keeps getting better all the time.

There's a plug-in interface for Gimp that makes it more photoshop like called photogimp I believe.

Paint Shop Pro is okay, I'm not a huge fan, but it will do and it is overall less expensive. If you are a student at a University/high school or work for one Photoshop can be bought at "Education Prices" which are considerably less expensive than normal conditions and not much more than Paint Shop Pro (which also, I believe has an education version lurking about).
