Gorrila is correct on the math and does make a good point. However, I really think this is arguing over the unimporant details. We don't really care why the debuff is what it is. I think the majority cares more about why the debuff IS here at all. In issue 3 the debuff was reduced from -20% to -5% beucase they removed Rooting. Then in issue 5 they completely gutted the base 20% res to all but psi and left the -5% Debuff. (actually raised it for awhile ... <shifty eyes>
As the power stands now regardless of what AT your on, its an idiotic debuff. The only reason I would agree that the debuff should be Lower (-3.25%) instead of higher is beucase it can't be corrected by the base value of Tough hide is 3.75% At least with a tank just getting that power can negate the effects of the debuff, but a scrapper/brute can't.
Over all you can't change a buff and debuff linear to each other when trying to make one set perform 25% as effective as another. The set needs to be balanced with its self, to reflect how its balanced with other sets.
Imo They totaly screwed invul over no matter which AT your on. The set went from 90% res to all - psi with only having to take the invul set by its self to 70% l/s and 30% all - Psi. That may not seem like a big difference but when 17 things are attacking you at once, that 60% lower resitance to all - psi KILLS. Thank god tanks can still cap l/s by getting tough, No such luck for everyone else.
I think invul needs to be given a little love, and I think removing a -5% debuff would be more then justified becuase its still deserves a lot more then that. -
Don't want to sound ugrateful, but I really didn't want resistance to be the fix to defense sets. If I wanted a resistance build i would of picked something other then SR. Why not instead of Resistance make this a defense bonus. starts at 0 and as we get hit more the higher our defense gets. Neither resistance or defense is going to help us with getting one shotted by AV's (got one shotted by a 52 seige like 4 times in a row with elude on weee). This would seem a lot more "thematic" and "Heroic" to me then all of a sudden me pulling resistance out of my cape.
Makes no sense, but thanks for aknowledging that your development team is incapable of actually fixing "Defense". -
Bakka don't roll me into a group with ALL SR's I have Elude 6 slotted with membranes. That makes A HUGE diffirence to how much defense I have. I also have build up 6 slotted with membranes and Focused Accuracy 6 slotted with tohitt(two cyto's for end redux). I don't need this buff at all, however every other SR Scrapper and ICE tanker who wasn't around farming Hami before HO's got nerfed DOES.
So don't freat little Bakka, you can still beat the other SR's and ice Tanks up (except a few). -
The Anointed Brotherhood:
We are a 40+ Supergroup looking for serious and active players. We are more of a power gamer-oriented SG looking to help improve new members' knowledge of the game and tweaking there builds.
Here at Anointed Brotherhood, we try to keep things creative and fun. We are an active SG that tries to have at least one SG event every week. The majority of the SG is made up of old time players looking to enjoy the end game as much as possible. But with the lack of end game content, that can be somewhat challenging!
Also with the release of Arena in Issue 4 a lot of our members are being even more active on the Arena front, so if you are just looking for an experienced group of players to hang out with, or if you are looking for a great PvP team (we are doing SG vs. SG battles), ABH may be the place for you.
We have a recruiting policy if we are not familiar with you on a personal basis. We do require a field test and interview before new members can join. We do look down on excessive power leveling and these field tests and interview processes are ways we try to avoid recruiting power-leveled players. We are looking for either experienced players, or players who are eager to learn and become an experienced player.
Members of the Anointed Brotherhood have access to a full featured Web site including guides, forums, links to other great sites, and downloads that can help make the CoH experience more enjoyable. They also receive access to their own POP3 e-mail address at www.anointedbrotherhood-coh.com. They can either use an e-mail client like outlook our use our Web mail access on the web site.
Also, an ABH Radio / Infinity Radio station is in the works. Interested members can take part in being an online DJ to help spread the news of Paragon over the air waves. If you think you would like to become a member of the Anointed Brotherhood, visit our web site and apply on our forums, track down @agentQ in game, or send an e-mail to agent.q@anointedbrotherhood-coh.com You will need to register with the website before posting on the forums.
