Cole is the bad guy because, unless you are a fascist, he believes he has the right to control the world and remake it in his image, and that's traditionally considered bad.
The fact that Cole is not an indiscriminate mass murderer does not make him automatically a hero. It makes him not a mass murderer. He still wants to take over the place, install a dictatorship, deploy thought police, and crush all opposition to his will. Cole believes we need to be saved from the Hamidon, so he'll try to save us from the Hamidon. Cole also believes we need to be saved from ourselves. Everyone willing to be saved from themselves, step forward and join the Praetorians. Everyone else will have irreconcilable differences with his majesty.
Human beings are not all bad or all good, but we can judge people based on their overall actions and morality. Cole's morality is "I know what's best, and since I have the power to bend everyone to my will for the greater good I intend to use it." Whether that's "good" or "bad" depends on your point of view I suppose, but I know which side I'm on. -
So the game does have a story. Nice...very nice

Well, is there any point on getting GR at this point anyways? Freedom makes it quite worthless to have, as all VIPs get GR content and even free players no longer have AT per alignment restrictions. Oh, what the hell, anyone can get a CoH retail for like $5 in Amazon anyways. It just bothers me that I paid a fifteen times higher price and I'm getting pretty much the same.

I got my answer from ncsoft. I let my "vip" lapse for two weeks. The new system auto removes you from all custom chat channels. This is bad. It is stupid for them to remove you from all CCs. They should auto-mute you, but completely removing you sucks!. COH/COV has hit it's "jumping the shark" point with freedom.

I know it is triumph 2.0 watch. I just didn't type the whole thing out on the forum. I have been apart of the chat channel for months and never left it. I'll check the game today and see if it is back. Maybe there was a problem with global yesterday.

What happened to the chat channels for triumph? Did the devs clear/delete all the custom chat channels? When I logged on yesterday Triumph 2.0 was still active and anything. Today when I logged in, I was listed as the only member. So I tried to join the off-topic channel triumph 1.5 and the game said it doesn't exist! So whats going on? Did I miss some big announcement between yesterday afternoon and today?

I have a level 37 Illusion/Empath still in Praetoria on Virtue that is XP bonded to a character in CoH and still team. -
It just isn't one mission though. Each of my missions are this way on my two characters. My blaster is at 36 almost 37 and my brute is 27ish. I am at a higher level than I was when I first accepted the missions. In fact I am 3-4 levels higher. I been helping others with their missions and just started getting back to mine.
EDIT: I'm bad at remembering names. -
What is up with the game? For the past 2 weeks when ever I have a character 25% of the way to leveling up, the game makes the NPCs 2-3 levels higher than what I have it set has. For example: My one character is at 36 but getting 37-39 RED NPCs. My field setting is at set zero. I tryed restarting a mission with the field turned to -1 and see how it would go. But instead I got NPCs 3-4 levels higher and mostly purples. This has made the game virtually unplayable for me.
