Quote:Recharge is at around 170% with Hasten, cost... I dunno, I have about 4 purple sets but nothing crazy like PvP sets. It was a significant amount of money to get the build the way I wanted it.Huh, that's neat to know. Might I ask how expensive your build is, recharge and stuff?
Also, I know pets are the breadwinner as far as crab ST goes, but what was your personal attack cycle like?
My attack chain on the Pylon was:
Venom Grenade > Single Shot > Burst > Single Shot
[very small gap, sometimes throw in a Heavy Burst here]
Single Shot > Burst > Single Shot.
Repeat
Single Shot has an Apocalypse proc in it so it puts out some pretty good damage considering how fast it recharges and animates. Single Shot and Burst both have Achilles Heel also so the Pylon was under -RES from VG and AH for the most part. -
Yeah, I run a crab but I use all gun attacks with the exception of Suppression. The crab attacks take too long to animate for the most part and have no real advantage over the gun attacks.
-
In game info shows def buff applies only to typed defense. I haven't picked one up because LT damage blows support benefits out of the water.
-
Yeah, the pets are key on Crab. You're really doing yourself a disservice if you don't use them.
-
I feel that Crab will out-AoE a Fort. With my high recharge I run a chain of Venom Grenade>Heavy Burst>Suppression. It works out pretty well.

I know crabs have amazing AoE potential but our ST damage gets downplayed quite a bit. Sure, we may not have the strongest ST attacks in our primary but we've got plenty of damage in our pets and debuffs.
I've always heard a lot of these scrapper Rikti Pylon challenges but have never run one since I've only played one scrapper and she was fairly decent but nothing spectacular. I've tried to attack these before on many other characters just for giggles but faceplanted immediately. My crab, on the contrary, is my favorite character because of it's perfect combination of multiple aspects of what makes a 'good build'.
So anyway, I decided to give it a go with my crab not knowing what to really expect. To my surprise, I actually succeeded, and fairly quickly for that matter. After a couple more runs I got my time down even more. The last run I managed a 49 second run, which figures out to 639 DPS.
I proceeded to check out the Rikti pylon thread and was amazed to see that this is actually a pretty awesome time. From the looks of it, even managing 3 mins is considered pretty good. I'm thinking I can knock this time down even further when I get my T4 Lore and actually remember to use my Judgement powers.
So the next time someone tells you Crabs are crappy for ST damage, just know that this really is not the case and that they're just extremely misinformed. -
Thanks for the explanation, Rush.

Quote:Which is why I went the Boss/LT route and never looked back. Lore is pretty awesome, especially if you can figure out how to perma or double lore summon...One note about the lore pets that is very upsetting for my VEATs is that none of the +def from the support pets has positional components. They all use typed only
.

Is each 'bounce back' considered another target? In other words, will the T4 ion (40 targets) have more bounce backs against a mob of 16 enemies as opposed to the T1 ion (16 targets)?

Thanks, Star. Found it.

I'm hoping one of the well informed game mechanics players could provide an explation of how Ion or chain attacks in geberal work. What I'm mainly confused on is how single targets sometimes receive multiple hits from Ion. What causes this? Will higher tier attacks with higher max target have a higher chance of causing this effect? Does a max of 40 targets mean that it could potentially hit 40 times on a group of 20, for example?
Your educated input will be highly appreciated. -
Anyone know of a way to equip an incarnate power without having to pull up the incarnate window and clicking a bunch? I'm hoping for some sort of command along the lines of /toggle incarnate.
Thanks. -

Some noble soul spends 30+ mins trying to put together a full trial team. Everyone tires of waiting to fill last couple of spots and leader just starts the queue. Trial begins and random guy in queue becomes new league leader and has no idea what just happened.

ACU does not have toxic damage. He shoots out of his cannon which is pure energy attacks. Victoria does deal a lot of melee damage though.
-
I've got pretty much the same crab that you're running, Mephe. I took...
Judgement - Ion, even if they fix the bug on it I'll keep it around. The enhanceable damage may be fixed but I doubt they'll fix the jumps hitting the same target multiple times.
Lore - Warworks, boss and LT. Running a pet heavy build, having more damage pets is awesome. These guys hit pretty hard too. Looking at the numbers, the damage on the Clockwork seem to be a bit higher... I may end up crafting them and seeing how much I like them. I've noticed that the Victoria spends a lot of time running around getting in to melee. The Clockwork boss is all ranged so I'm thinking I'll get more attacks out of him.
Destiny - Barrier. It's the best OH $**T button around. Also, eventhough I may have high res/def normally, my spider army doesn't so barrier insures that they (and teammates, I guess) stick around and pump out the damage for a good while longer.
Interface - Reactive DoT. I'm currently T3 on this but I'm gonna stay with the DoT tree. The -Res is nice but the DoT seems more productive to me. Considering that the spiders have a mind of their own, they usually attack whoever they want so I'm not concerned about 'overstacking' and wasting the Interface buff. -

Sorry, what I was meaning to ask about was Judgement, not Lore.
I was asking if the damage is enhanceable on the additional damage on the Ion Judgement path that provides additional damage chance.
I took tested it out myself and yes it does get enhanced by Musculature and it is not flat damage like IO procs. -
While more variety would be nice, i don't mind running these trials over and over if im making progress towards new shineys. Once the newness wears out I'll go back to all the other standard content.

In regards to the battle orbs with the defense bubble, I'm hearing reports of the bubble not being on all the time. It's a toggle that the orb sometimes decides to toggle off. I, personally, haven't used them so this is just information I've read about. Considering that they're only providing a 5% def boost, I decided against them and went for the other side of the tree that provides additional damage output.
-
Major Edit: Judgement additional damage - enhanceable?
I'm curious if the additional damage provided on higher tier judgement powers are enhanceable by Musculature or if its flat damage like all other procs in the game.
I'm trying to decide whether I want to go with the additional mez or additional damage route on Ion and this may help me decide.
Thanks. -
Interesting, I haven't experienced this. I usually have my 6 spiders and 2 lore pets in front of the doors for that part. Escapees don't make it very far out of the door though. Pet hp stays at 100 so they're not hitting eachother.

I re-watch all six seasons of Lost.

I just went with the Vicky/ACU tier 3. Added on to my spider army and barrier... I'm pretty darn happy right now.
