Don't think you have to give a lot to make a difference. For some teammates a $5 donation would be a doubling of their total! and chipping in the $15 VIP subscription that got cancelled for Oct (or November) would be around a 50% increase for 1/2 of the folks on the team!

"Already it seems they have found positions for the Paragon staff in new projects. Again.... an investment sacrificing CoH to better use the staff elsewhere."

I keep seeing things like this written as well as "better use of resources".

Am I incorrect in my understanding of the Paragon Staff employment being terminated the day of the announcement?

That's not a better use of resources, that's eliminate income plus profit (minimal or otherwise), as well as eliminate the positions that income was funding while losing any profits.

My thoughts while watching this ...

1: Wow... what a great zone!!!

2: It would be great if a bunch of meteors took out Independence Port, or invasion forces took it over, and this is what Paragon City opened up to replace it.

City of Heroes team is currently #21 with $3365 in donations. We are just 88 dollars behind the next highest.

I personally donated $100 dollars to the cause because its a good one, and work has been generous with overtime lately.

If just the VIPs from Unity Rally had chipped in their October payment that they aren't being charged...We'd be way up!

If just the folks who showed up for the Unity Rally gave 5 bucks each we would rocket up into the top 3. (We would be #2 actually)

We are Heroes. This is what we do.

It should be good for us, because we always tend to duo, and we had only a few 50's and tons and tons of alt duos. The journey is the point for us.

Back when she was new to CoH she tried LOTRO and hated it, hated the combat style etc, even though she often had tanks and scrappers. Now she plays whatever she feels like and is much more skilled at CoH than she was then... and maybe games in general... don't know because she loves CoH.

We'll build a new bridge when its time to cross over.

CO, TSW, or maybe Otherland (if it ever gets a US beta). We'll see what she likes.

3 days is a very short trial time.

I waited till I had some off time from work to try it out. Got several hours the first night, but much of that was spent on creating the character and figuring out what to do and resetting some keybinds. Then watching the voice-over scenes was cool but took time.

Unfortunately real life interfered the next couple days, so I didn't get nearly as much time to try out as I would like. I ran out of time while I was working overtime, so lost a last evening chance, but it was overtime pay.

3 days... wasn't CoH's trial 14 days? or a 10 days? back in the day, I forget. Its annoying that if you blast through enough missions they extend you, but if you couldn't play enough they don't. ( If you want to limit things, just say 10 - 15 real hours in the game or something, the more hardcore will go through that in 3 days or so and the more casual will take more days, but still not get more play time.)

That said, I liked it. (even on my underspec computer with things turned down really really low)

I wasn't able to show my wife the game, or play along with her, so I'll be waiting to buy until we try her on a trial run, if she likes it. That might wait till the servers go dark on our favorite game... or a really great sale appears in time for the holidays.

Storywise she'll probably like it, and the powers, but some of the CoH fighting style being lost may annoy her, maybe a lot, we'll see down the road.

I was able to play again tonight in TSW. Turned my graphics settings off in some cases...shadows and such... much better running on my underpowered PC.

I like it, very spooky, keep imagining the Mist movie. Not sure if my wife will like it on not, and I wish I had loaded it to her more powerful PC, rather than mine, but if it hadn't run on my PC I wouldn't have given it a shot at all.

Robert "Bob-Rob" Robertson is the char. Dragon, pistols and chaos magic so far. Joined the coh-refugees channel too.

Just downloading this game to try now.

In case I really like it, getting it on sale would be preferred for me and my wife .

We'll see. My computer is actually under the min specs, so we'll see if it'll even run. Not going to upgrade for a game, although I would do so to keep City of Heroes.

Loved it... and even though I've watched it a few times before... for some reason it really got to me this morning after sending it out in a tweet to Chuck and Fringe folks.

We tried so hard to get those extended and it worked...

Something I found last night shooting a nice pic of Nine Lives 9,

Hitting the "p" key while playing the demo will pause it, and you can then move the camera around to a great angle for a shot... and can accidentally go outside through things in city zones too.

I would have loved it if they had had a huge contest for "Make a new set of starting missions for the old starting contacts" (Azuria and friends)

With the winners for each contact becoming the actual arcs entered into the gameworld, connected to proper doors etc.

That would have been an awesome use of MA and playerbase creativity!
(and more diversity of missions)

The social media aspect of this is itself news... it's got to be more newsworthy than the interestingly split colored cat that got adopted ... that made my the TV news here in the Detroit area. ABC... and maybe Fox too... i forget
