I was under the impression that Super Strength, as a set, was balanced around Rage. Which would imply that rage is not overpowered as a power on its own.

Of course it will be overpowered in the hands of another set, because it was not designed for those sets.

Would you call Practiced Brawler overpowered in the hands of a blaster? Of course you would, it's not for them.


In any case, Rage has been retooled at least once so far (and fairly recently). I wouldn't expect any changes in the near future concerning the power as it is.

Really. Sorry you feel I'm so sensitive, but it upsets me to no end that people are RPing other people's characters. Call me sensitive, call me stupid, call me childish. Whatever.

But to me, that's taboo.



So. Having said that.

I'll take all your comments in hand and leave the thread alone now.

That sounds fine to me because you have a reason.

You've defeated him. You have that in-game/IC 'badge.'

But if you were going as deep as what I was talking about, I'd want him to come out and say "Yes, I'm having relations with that woman" or whatever.

To me, this is an issue of RPing someone else's characters without their consent.

That's what this is to me. It's not about sex, or gay, or anything like that.

It's about me taking your character, saying I have a child with him, and that your character has a drinking problem and likes to go bang midgets behind the 7-11.

It becomes unsimplified, Grae, when you RP with someone on a regular basis and this sort of thing happens.

Now before I go any further, I do NOT RP with these people.

It's one of the major reasons I don't RP with them.

However. Let's say I'm in a deep RP plot with someone and that comes up as part of the plot?

How do I go about ignoring it? Do I forget the entire plot? Do I stop RPing with them?

So Virtue... I'm really trying to understand why some people RP what they do.

At what point did it become okay to RP other people's characters?

Oho! Yes that's right everyone! Signature characters are actual player's characters! OMGOMGOMGOMG!

I know! It's amazing!

But!

Why do people feel it's okay to say such blatant godmodding things about these characters?

I can understand your character having to do some odd jobs for Captain Mako, or helping Synapse bust a drug ring. Cool.

That sounds pretty reasonable.

But WHEN IN THE FIERY DEPTHS OF HELL did it become okay to say that that character is not only gay, but is having sex with YOUR character?

I've seen two different people RP this in a month. One was with Mako, one was with Synapse.


When, dear Virtue, did it become okay to play other people's characters in these ways?



What's the limit when it comes to RPing big name characters?
