Now that we've taken Hami out, hopefully, more people will show up to the next raid. Which would make beating Hami's butt in less than hour, doablePossibly
[/ QUOTE ]
We don't need more people, we need more organisation. The mito clearing was by far the longest phase, actually killing Hamidon himself took about 15 minutes. -
I'll trade a mez/dam for a mez/acc.
Or if anyone wants a mez/dam and has a dam/range, we can work out some kind of obscure three-way-transfer with Mesmer. -
[ QUOTE ]
The Union PvPers would rather have pentad every week and no 8v8. How does everyone else feel about pentad every week? We find there is to much waiting around with 8v8.
[/ QUOTE ]
We won't be able to make a pentad for a while. We don't have enough toons (or more specifically, enough tanks). -
[ QUOTE ]
The only problem I had was that I lost track of Honsou a couple of times and couldn't retarget him because he was out of range, meaning I had to fly about trying to find him again. Unfortunately, I don't think that anything can be done about that.
[/ QUOTE ]
We're going to use 2 targetters next time, using /assist on the second one to ensure that both target the same mito. That way, if you can't find one the other might be easier to find. In addition, I'm going to try and minimize lag by making it VERY clear that you shouldn't be in the bubble if you're not attacking the mitos.
Next raid, we're going for one hour or less. Who's with me?
Edit: Also, if the targetter doesn't go into melee, type /assist when you have him targetted. That way, you'll switch from targetting him to targetting his target. -
[ QUOTE ]
i tried to go and suicide at the start, but i stood insuide waiting to die...and i didnt, that shows how good the PA and tank team were doing
[/ QUOTE ]
I know you thought that was funny, but I had to do an insane amount of shouting to get people to move out of the jelly. It would help if you didn't do it again. If you want to suicide, just go stand next to the tank during the mito clearing phase. Hell, send me a tell first and I'll ask him to move so he's next to you. -
One particular thing on that list jumps out at me:

Plasmarch Scrapper bra Super Reflexes

where am i in that list? >: )

NINJA EDIT GO -
Oh ye of little faith.
Well done guys. Absolutely well done. You guys did brilliantly, I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of guys to bring down the blob.
I'd especially like to thank:
Novocaine/Nightbringer: An awesome Hamidon tank and a brilliant guy.
Empath: Only died two or three times! Makes a change. Pro healing on the tank.
Arch: What a PA dropper. Every time we shouted at you to move the PAs around, you did so. Brilliant job.
Imag: Same as arch. Couldn't have asked for a better PA dropping duo.
Honsou: I barely know you, but you did an absolutely awesome job of targetting. We did split a few times, but that was down to lag and not you. Awesome.
Extremus/Elerith: Oh ye of little faith. Fail the raid? Yeah right.
Shift: You're a huge n00b.
Absolutely brilliant job, all of you. Pat yourselves on the back.
Same time next month?
P.S: CyberKnight, I did say over coalition that if you'd sent me a tell I'd get you into a team but you'd already gone offline. Sorry you didn't get a hami-o. -

Raid window is whenever we send you a raid invite, or vice-versa. Once the invite is sent, you have 5 minutes to join the raid by opening the supergroup tab, clicking the "Raid" button and then clicking "Join" on the relevant raid.
And yeah, it's 8pm London time.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, I meant how long does the raid last, as I don't think we can kill you all at the same time...
I'd prefer defending base despite us being underdogs, to see how the defensive items work and get ideas about the defense etc.
[/ QUOTE ]
A base raid lasts 45 minutes, and ok -
[ QUOTE ]
I guess we can have a go at wednesday then.. With however many people show up. I'm gonna be surprised if more than one teams worth of Goonies show up, though..Lets see where Arch Sectors loyalties lie..
Hmm.. How long is the raid window and did 8pm signify London time?

[ QUOTE ]
This is all well and fine if u haven't altered your pre lvl 20 cossie. My guy being a robot always seemed to have something missing then I got the auras and now I have the same star burst glow eyes on all my cossie. It makes my character look alive, like you can see more into him throw his eyes now and I don't really want to lose the effect.
[/ QUOTE ]
It is free to remove your cape and aura at icon. If you are that bothered I have already said that I will GIVE you money. If you REALLY cannot be bothered to walk to the icon in founders, I'll get one of my teammates to TELEPORT you there. Hell, if I could I'd take your character there and do it for you.
[ QUOTE ]
I've read the guide and don't get me wrong I'm all up for having a plan but you keep using this will cause lag and that will.... but surely all these little bits is nothing compared to the lag thats going to be cause by the number of peeps who turn up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, the lag caused by 100 or so people turning up is pretty bad when they don't have capes or auras. Can you imagine 100 people who are wearing capes and auras? For some people this will make the raid into nothing but a slide-show, which will stop them from enjoying it. The primary reason we do this is to have fun. That means that EVERYONE should be able to take part to the maximum.
[ QUOTE ]
I mean the guide is partically saying if you have kinetic powers don't bother turning up.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, the guide is saying that if you have kinetic powers, can you please refrain from using them unless they're called "Speed Boost". The reason for this is because kinetics has insane flashy AoE effects, particularly in Fulcrum Shift. Fulcrum Shift causes people to crash when it's overused on normal, instanced missions (hello Stark!). Can you imagine what it'll be like when it's hitting 80+ people doing mito clearing? Bang, and the zone is gooooooooone.
[ QUOTE ]
Next you'll be updating the guide to exculde people with extra effects to their powers like fire, ice and energy. Will you also be telling Peacebringers and Warshades that have been built to regularly use nova and dwarf forms not to use them?(I didn't see that in the guide)What next, tell everyone who isn't in commanding roles not to talk because speach bubbles cause lag?
[/ QUOTE ]
You and I both know this point is stupid.
[ QUOTE ]
I'm sure a bucket load of illusion controllers summoning their isn't going to crash the servers and, cause lag cause it not in the guide, but someone with a cape will??
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, we need the PA drop or everyone dies. Also, if you'd noticed, PA are white with practically no detail. They are unbelievably easy on the graphics settings, so they aren't going to be doing any crashing.
[ QUOTE ]
Also why does it have to be game over when the yellow things appear? Why hasn't your guide got a part that deals with these instead just laying down and not bothering?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, if you're willing to get 60 or 70 people to spend 10+ hours clearing them all, you're quite welcome to. I for one can't be bothered.
[ QUOTE ]
If your are roleplaying
[/ QUOTE ]
But I'm not.
[ QUOTE ]
a hero would be willing to put his/her life on the line no matter the odds and no matter how hopless it looks but you say just to give up??
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. Read what I wrote above. If you're willing to put in the obscene amount of time it takes, you're welcome to do so. Nobody is stopping you.
[ QUOTE ]
Thats not very heroic.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, but this is, at the end of the day, a game. People do have real lives to go back to, and I'm sure the don't want to spend all night clearing Mitos just so the zone can crash. Especially on a sunday night, if they have work on monday morning.
[ QUOTE ]
If this is a community thing surely you should be encouraging people to turn up and not turning them away because they don't fit in to your plan?
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not turning them away. At what point in the guide did I write "Don't come if...."? I'm saying "Please make an effort to ensure that everyone can do a lag-free job". I don't think thats unreasonable.
[ QUOTE ]
Do you even think about the rest of the community below lvl 45?
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you know that anyone under level 45 can't get into the hive? Yes, it's not good that they can't take part. I have many friends who don't have 45+ toons, but I'm afraid that's just the way the game has been made.
[ QUOTE ]
I used to get really laggy when a raid was on and I was no where near the hive.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing to do with the raid. As Xironia said, each zone is on a different server, hence why the entire server doesn't crash each time the hive crashes.
[ QUOTE ]
Then of cousre theres this conga line I've heard about, something once again cause lag and which will affect those of us not taking part in the raid.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nothing to do with me. I haven't written "Form a big conga line and run around spamming powers so that it gives all those pre-45 buggers as much lag as we just had to put up with". Besides which, it's no different to when the PvP zones get popular with one main difference: Everyone in the Conga line is wearing a raid costume.
[ QUOTE ]
The community is EVERYONE not just those who do what you tell them too. If you think the community is just your little group going to fight a big old blob then well done, you're starting your own little dictatorship.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, but this raid requires extreme co-ordination. The best way to co-ordinate 100+ people is with one person giving orders. It works in the US, it's worked here in the past. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
[ QUOTE ]
Last two points:
1) If you guys do see someone with an aura and/or cape and you guys keep sending him tells to change their cossie and they don't and you keep sending them tells till they leave, either changed or not returnin, aren't you technacally bullying that person?
[/ QUOTE ]
Who said we were going to do that? I was going to politely point out to them that it's free to remove a cape and aura from a costume, and that I'd quite happily lend them some influence to replace the costume parts after the raid if they had been running in SG mode and therefore didn't have the cash to put the parts back themselves.
[ QUOTE ]
2)You said you'd be checking eveyones costumes before you go into the hive. If you see heroes with capes and/or auras will you be turning them away, denying the chance to fight hammi, excluding them from this gathering of the community and banning them from entering the hive?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, we can't stop them from going in. I'll just make it very very clear that by not changing they're letting everyone else down.
Last two points:
1. If you think you can run a hamidon raid better, you do it. I'll turn up to see how many people come along to take part, but I bet it'll be very few.
2. Please please make an effort to learn about a subject before making a long winded post about it. Many of things you questioned are either impossible to do, or impossible to do without. You'd know that if you'd either been to a Hamidon raid or read up about them. -

[ QUOTE ]
Transfusion = auto containment, without having to hold. Transfusion is an unresistable immob for 0,5 sec, enough to give your next power containment.
[/ QUOTE ]
Know of any other powers that do this?
[/ QUOTE ]Twilight grasp has a brief immob.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but you find a controller and a defender who can sync the two perfectly. It just won't happen. -
[ QUOTE ]
ye but who i am shouldnt get me killed so much in a plaec where there is a time limit between bounty kills/rep kills etc (sirens mainly talking), just cuz i know near enough the whole server dont mean 99% gankage should happen
[/ QUOTE ]
Why not? Take it as a compliment. People see you as the biggest threat in a team, so they take you out first. Surely this means that you're doing your job well? -
Goonies: Base raid on April 5th at 8:00pm?
Echelon: Base raid on April 6th at 8:00pm?
Hidden Healer: Base raid on April 7th at 8:00pm?
You can either raid us, or we'll raid you, or both. We don't mind. Bring as many people as you can.
Edit: [censored], double post. For some reason, I didn't think this would happen. Sorry.
Double edit: We can also do pretty much any time this weekend as well. Just send me a tell in game and we'll organize something (@Xanthus is my handle) -
[ QUOTE ]
u can do that :O i thought it was perma damage... well then maybe u should fight our 50s sg.... myself included and well to say the least we got 10 50s XD
[/ QUOTE ]
Having a level 50 doesn't make you a good player. In PvP it's about more than just being at the cap. -

ahem.........i ahve a lvl 40 stalker so i know both sides.....and tbh i dont like it anymore, in the beginning as gan said was funnow its not worth loading unless something in pve is going down......and since when am i famous?!?! lol
[/ QUOTE ]
I was talking about other people.
Your a trophy kill. People can say they killed person x etc.
I seem to get the above all to often.
K
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, this is almost certainly why you get attacked so much. I know that Imaginary is always complaining about how he gets ganked by everyone whenever he goes into the zone on Captain Freon. -

For all around goodness I'd probably go with Ill/Kin.
1v1 wise that is.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fun build but hardly the best for 1 on 1.
I think my ice / kin will be a powerhouse for 1 on 1s against anything but rad, storm and SR.
[/ QUOTE ]
hhmmmm....a good build for teams but 1v1 wheres your damage coming from?

[ QUOTE ]
/b G assist.
Doesnt work in the arena tho.
[/ QUOTE ]
question... assist?
[/ QUOTE ]
Switches your target to your targets target. Ok, that sounds way too complicated, so let me put it like this:
Player A is targetting his enemy, player B
Player C is targetting his teammate, Player A
Player C types /assist, and his target is switched to Player As target (in this case, player B).
It works for both sides, as well. You can use /assist on your opponent to find out who they're targetting etc etc. -
[ QUOTE ]
With tough and temp invuln AS would be reduced buy about 54%, more with power boost (Prob to Troller Max).
[/ QUOTE ]
Except that the critical part of AS would still hit you for full damage. -
[ QUOTE ]
What about when they make all the people of an architype have to be in a certain colour cozzy?
[/ QUOTE ]
As I said in my post above, if you actually read the raid guide we said that you can come in whatever colour you like as long as you don't have a cape or an aura. -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
As an invunerable scrapper I light up brighter than a christmas tree with all my toggles on and I'm sure there's other builds out there with powers that could look like if not over power costume auras. Is it me or does it sound silly for you guys to ask peeps to remove auras from cossies they are happy with then hassle them because they haven't?I'm sure the last time hammi was killed there were peeps with capes in the pics. Do you really want to squash the freedom of people who want to join but don't want to lose their auras or capes?
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree, thats one of the reasons i have not bothered
[/ QUOTE ]
It costs you no money to remove your cape and your aura, and as I've already said I have offered to GIVE you money to put it back if it's really that important to you and you can't afford it.
The reason we ask you to remove your cape/aura is, as TG said, for lag reasons. I for one wouldn't be able to handle a raid on my PC if everyone was wearing capes/auras. For the raid to be a success, we all have to make sacrifices and by not making sacrifices you're letting everyone down. Besides which, surely you want the raid to succeed? If you don't, why are you coming?
As for the Invul being lit up like a christmas tree, if you had read the raid guide you would know that the only toggle you need is your mez protection (in Invuls case, Unyielding). The other toggles do nothing against Hamidons damage and that of the mitos, since it's all untyped and will hit you for 100% damage through any shield you happen to be running. -

Waitaminute, Inner Monkeys are now raid capable? We need to have some practise raids with Goonies then..
Goonies base has been raid capable for some time, but I don't know how many players I can actually talk into it as we do primarily PvE. I hope I can stir some interest.
[/ QUOTE ]
You could always practice against us. We're up for raiding pretty much any night, and we don't mind fighting outnumbered either. -
I'm tempted to join, if only so we can wpnz Dr Death

[ QUOTE ]
For PvP - Union, I think is the better choice.
[/ QUOTE ]
Quite frankly I'm shocked and ashamed of you. -
a) Defiant
b) Any. Just get into a team, and any build can do well in PvP.
