  2. Last night we had our first "Play Our Own Arcs" night and FredrikSvanberg won the draw. We had a good time playing an arc of his that he is working on and is almost ready for publishing. Hopefully, our feedback will be of use to him.

    WN
  3. Best Serious Arc

Tales of Croatoa: A Rose By Any Other Name #178774 @Silvers1
    The Storyteller: Sabrina's Tale #1237 @Redbone1

This was a ridiculously hard category to narrow down.

  7. Just an update on some of the feedback for this arc.

@drfantasy: Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Ok I actually dont know why this isnt devs choice. I really liked it honestly. Must be a couple minor things wrong for them to not choose this. I've only given 3 5stars so far and this will be my 4th.

@Farrok : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Can u say AWSOME i can AWSOME really enjoyed that i love blappy hehe

@Plucky Sidekick : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Great and very entertaining arc. I love the blappy fans healing her. 5 stars.

@Aracade : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: What can I say about this.... ummm.... I got to be on tv? err... talk to a tv.... Seriously, how come you haven't gotten anything Developer approved. I've played all three story arcs you've made and I personally thought they were all fantastic. Ah well, that is the way of the world I guess. But I can still give ya some stars.

@Jarissa : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: The almost-creepy thing is that, about twelve years ago, our tabletop group's GM ran us through a very similar adventure -- except it was Big Bird, whose performer was being held hostage while the costume was used by a new Supervillain to qualify for villain team membership. Good one-liners in your arc!

@Wyrm : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Very entertaining! Sis cracked me up. I think you captured the "feel" of Television as a contact really well.

@Taxibot Sara2.0 : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Hey WN Just did Blap Blap Blappy Dat Gret job as always Sort of hated having to beat you up but I tried to be gentle LOL Okay I have run out of missions from you TIME to post more

@abnormaljoe : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Great work, any chance of a "Redemption of Blappy" arc?

@BinkDeBook : Feedback on Architect Mission Have a Blap, Blap, Blappy Day Kids!: Another fun one WN... I enojoyed it .. Good Dialog and humor as usual. Nice work!

@Lazorman wrote: Fun! Nice customs designs, and amusing bio's. I liked the soliloquy narrative style your enemy bio's used. Only hiccup was when Sis Boom Ba almost escaped out the door when she got low health (couldn't seem to slow her down). Otherwise was a fast-paced, fun adventure!

@Tahlana wrote: That was a fun one! I liked the characters and the missions were well designed.

Tangler wrote: As an origin arc it works out pretty well, as it doesn’t fall into the trap of making your hero second to the author’s characters, and the author’s villains are distinct and varied enough so it feel like you are fighting an actual super villain team, something that the vanilla game so desperately needs instead of all the grunt bashing we end up doing.

@ReM em BeR wrote: awesome! I loved this arc...

@Lucianna wrote: That was pretty amusing, if not really laugh out funny (to me). Tough for my defender solo, so probably just right for most other ATs. Nice that spawned objectives were nearby, thank you.I found the Pep Squad irritating because of all their immunities-holds, immobilize, knock back. They ended up being more dangerous than most of the luetinants. Most debuffers will probably have this issue. Overall a very good arc.

@Eraserdog wrote: Really enjoyed this one, even though I got stomped at the end. My toon's the same build as the last boss, and couldn't hang solo. Great mish in all respects, tho. Five stars.

@Gypsy Rose wrote: Made me smile as always - Love your humor! 5 stars

Hallows Eve and The Pumpkin Master by @Ms Liberty Too Arc ID: 102372
NOTE - Thia one we could not finish because the boss never spawned.

  9. It looks like the weather is going to prevent the electrical work on my home today (something about being in the rain while working on live wires or something) so I should be there at noon.

It would be interesting to see what the official contest and the player contest did for arcs with few plays.

    That is an excellent point.

Right. Ironically, Death to Disco! was not a PC Awards nominee so my data is as pure as you can get with what we have available. I do think the PW might have gotten a few plays from being at the top of the list. I got a max of 1 play since that is the total I have gotten since the nominations were announced last Thursday.

To answer Bubba's question, Both of my arcs in the Players Choice have gotten plays/ratings. I think Blappy has had around 7 or 8 and Poor Taste 3-4. Though Poor Taste's Category is way lower on the list so I am betting many have yet to get to it.

Since that arc is nominated in the PC Awards too, you can't be sure how many came from each.

Can someone please be on standby to run this team tomorrow if I can not be there for reasons beyond my control?

    Details for those that care:

Odd things have been happening the last few days at my house with my power lots of little brown outs mainly. Today between PSE&G and a private contractor we had out the problem was discovered. The short version is the entire breaker box needs to be replaced asap. As it stands now we only have 1/2 the power in the house working. So, the contractor is going to try to get all of parts tomorrow (a Saturday) to install the new box. Should this happen my house will be without power for most of the day meaning I can't be online to lead the team. Should he be unable to get the parts for tomorrow, baring further issues I will be there because it will have to wait till Monday.

I hesitate to comment on this since Death to Disco! was a nominee, so I will just stick to the facts.

I have for quite a awhile now stopped actively promoting my arcs or even asking for reviews of them (Blappy being the exception since it has been recently reviewed).

During the week before Death to Disco! was nominated it received 0 plays/ratings. After the nominations were announced and before the winners were selected (Thursday - Saturday) it received 1 play/rating. Since the winners were announced it has gotten 0 plays/ratings.

  16. I feel the awards are a great idea and a top notch job has been done with them by Bubba, As with any contest, you learn what works or what doesn't and adjust rules accordingly the next time you run it.

As for this case, it really depends on how results are calculated. If it is done on total number of votes regardless of ranking it will have no effect. Of course there is always the option of deeming any ballet without two arcs listed invalid and just don't count it.

In any case, this is Bubba's call and I suggest we let him decide what he wants to do and just support him no matter what that is.

I know this has to be somewhat of a headache to run for Bubba and I think I speak for most of us here on the MA Stories & Lore Forum and on the MA Arc Finder Channel when I say we really appreciate all the work he has done.

The unspoken agreement that most of the people brought up was "good sportsmanship". The person knew full well what they were doing and comment after to me, "I always vote for myself".

As an example on context, I'm really not going to look down on a presidential candidate that votes for himself, if anything I expect that he should do nothing but vote for himself. That example may not be applicable to your competition or even this one, but it's an example that voting for yourself shouldn't be universally regarded as good or bad no matter what.
Apples and oranges. Though presidential races have been close, one vote has not come close to swaying an election (despite what the movies may portray). The nominations for each category ran from 5-14 votes total. Depending on how Bubba calculates the votes it can easily change the results.

This all said, I am not in any way saying voting for yourself should be universally regarded as good or bad. It is allowable in the rules, so that is that. I am saying that for me personally I would not have felt good about it. People that feel diferently can vote for themselves.

Voting for yourself isn't cheesy or something to be embarrassed about if it's allowed. I can't speak for others, but I voted for myself not just because I would like to win (and sure as darn tootin' I would), but also because I am confident that my arc is at the point where it has a very real shot at winning.
This is a matter of opinion . As someone who got burnt by not voting for herself I can speak from experience. After the event I had four of the eight other people who participated in the event stop me (including the person that ran the event) during the convention to express general disdain for the winner. It really did tarnish that person's win for a lot of people. In the end, I was fine with not winning and knew I preferred that over winning with people thinking it was not a honorable win. Of course, this is just my personal feelings.

  20. After Aisynia's review and some in game feedback I got from The Cheshire Cat I decided to go in and make a few tweaks based on the feedback.

    Spoiler Alert!

    - M1: Intro now indicates that Blappy needs to be back for her show on Monday which helps frame the arc as a series of events taking place over a couple of days.

    - M2: Clue Junkyard Dog drop's now reads "This card will grant you access to one of the Injustice Legion's hideouts. You have been reading a lot recently about this new villain group of "wronged" misfits." This was done to help the player understand who the IL is.

    - M3: Captive Bright Angel's inactive dialog changed to "I'm ok with you losers catching me since The Injustice Legion has been getting great press lately." More to help people understand the IL.

    - M4: Added the following warning in red at bottom of mission intro test "Warning - This mission contains an Elite Boss and a sneaky one at that so be alert, bring friends or take whatever precautions you deem necessary."

    - M4: Changed map again to one that I think works better. Still not as good as the original map I had, but better. Changed map yet again. found on a run through that Blappy and SSS could spawn so close they would both attack you. Not good. The map I selected was a trade in that the two of them being too close should never happen, but you may have to backtrack to find Blappy. It is a "small" map though.

    - M4: At some point Blappy's "defeat player" dialog went missing so I added it back.

    - M4: Mission return text now also features a "stay tuned" promo for the Blappy and Kids show. This was done to make it clearer that things have returned to "normal"

One other point. To those that have played it does the Comedy tag fit better than say the Drama one or some other tag? I have been having second thoughts on it.
