Alright, i just get so darn frustrated when I want to post my fourth mission in the series, and my comp says I have the max already posted. I'm not asking for much, just some more slots to build a plot. Maybe you can go to the online store and purchase more because I am so peeved that I cant build my idea without taking one down. They need to do something.

Good grief this is getting vicious. I just wanted to stir the pot, but i in turn caused a fire! oh well, as long as this is just friendly conversation.

Ultimately I feel the bio is kind of overlooked. Sure I write my characters' bio every time, but I go around trying to read other peoples bios, and rarely do I see someone who does. The bio should be more like a comic, oddly enough. I don't know if anyone suggested this... but I feel there should be like a couple of boxes where you could fill in some premade images with your character and make them into a small comic origin story, which could be accompanied by the bio. That way, you could see how your character came into being. And maybe after every ten levels, you recieved two more boxes to add onto your story. A stretch, but it would be cool. As for this post, /signed because I just get so dang frustrated when i get to like 1030 and I have to get rid of parts of my bio. I tried to be so consise with my words and I still go over the limit!! GAH!!!!

I thought that I wrapped this up already, but Zach seems to have brought new fire into this, so i'll douse the fire before it burns into an arguement.
Again, turning is probably going to be the ultimate issue here. Can the car turn? Well "a" and "d" as strafe for the character would have to be unused in the car, requiring new content. "Q" and "E" would have to be the "key" keys used here, lol. Space bar would also be a problem and powers as well. Using an eagle strike in a car just don't work. You just bust your radio wide open and possibly destroy the transmission. So bottom line for all people who post after me, READ THIS!!
In order for Super Hero Vehicles to be a reality, new content must be made.
The idea is possible, not probable. -
Wrapping up the forum.
Duely noted, there would have to be some seriously new content for this so this idea probably won't happen. But it still would be cool.
Yes, I understand that my idea is quite ambitious.
Sorry for any disrespect or annoyance I caused anyone, I should have realized that this idea probably would have been posted before.
Thanks for not being to harsh. -
GENIUS! A STROKE OF PURE BRILLIANCE!

While I'm sure a lot of people would love this, NCSoft is a business and the first and foremost objective of businesses is to make money. They provide excellent games and great service, but they also need to make a profit as well. But it would be cool. I dont think it will happen but I support this idea.

Quote:There really is no strafe, Q and E buttons turn the vehicle or mouse turns. Space Bar could either activate a boost or could activate an airlift to lift the vehicle in the air (or in the case of flying vehicles make it ascend).Short answer;
Not possible with the Engine we have. Not practical; How do you strafe or jump in a vehicle? Would require literal craptons of new art assets. Have been deemed not even on any sort of burner, ever.
Man you tried to shoot this down quick. I'm not trying to disrespect you in any way, but this is only a suggestion, I only wanted the peoples opinion of this. -
I just made a gravity power charater and I agree, the power animations are lame. Two of my abilities freeze the person and the only real difference (Besides damage) is that one makes the enemy levitate. wooo..... Propel grabs crap that may not necessarily be in the area your in, I mean come on, I pulled out a wooden bench in a science lab. And a rusty globe in a cave. You should pull it out of the wall, like a rock or a piece of metal.

From what I'm getting while playing city of heroes is that a travel power is kind of a necessity. Its not NEEDED, but getting around fog areas such as Dark Astoria is really better if you've got fly or super speed or jumping. Super hero vehicles would be so cool because you could cruise around with your SG in a souped up Transport vehicle with your SG's emblem on the front or you could ride solo and grab a bike and cruise around town without having to choose a transport power. This could even expand to having small jet planes for flight or helicopters. You could also give the vehicle upgrades like weapons or jets, for more influence/ prestige at a shop.
The lowdown looks like this.
Vehicles can be purchased with influence or prestige, but prestige gives you more seats in your vehicle and gives you flying vehicles.
USING INFLUENCE:
Motorcycles,
Small two seat sports cars.
PRESTIGE VEHICLES:
Larger vehicles such as trucks or transport vehicles.
Small jet planes.
Helicopters.
kind of a quirky idea, but it has some serious potential versus getting the transport power. It would also make traffic more of a hazard rather than just a moving wall. If your car crashed, you would have to pay for its repairs. Thoughts anyone? -
Wanted to try this, anyone can chip in. You can switch from character to character or add new ones and talk in their point of view.
The sound of heels hitting the cement could be heard comming down the long corridor leading to an abandoned dungeon. She was running out of time. Crey needed the files and soon, and they did not tolerate failure well. All the leads were lost causes. This one however seemed to be going somewhere....
She approached a wooden door with two women guarding it. Both of them, like her, had jet black hair and had chalk white skin. They had the look of fear in their eyes as she approached.
"Well? How goes the interrogation?"
"H-h-he hasn't t-talked yet Mistress Romani. But I assure you, he will give us the information w-we seek s-soon." One of the guard pleaded stuttering.
"You fools, he won't talk because he obviously knows what is inside! Let me in and i will... convince him." Mistress Romani replied angrily.
The two guards opened the door revealing a completely empty room with a man sitting in the center. He black chains all over him. His face was tired and bloodied, like he lost a fight with a wolf. He did not move when she entered. If it weren't for the fact that his chest moved every few seconds, she would have pronounced him dead on the spot. There was another chair sitting on the wall far enough so he could not reach it.
She went over him and picked up his head by his chin. Her black nails shining in the moonlight pouring into the room from the only window.
"Have you come to interrogate me like the others have? Or have you come to be merciful and put me out of my misery?" The man asked, looking at her with two bruised, bloody eyes.
"That question can be answered by giving me the information I seek. Now-" She pulled over a chair "- you know the question already. So do you know where it is?"
"I told you, my father left me nothing when he died. He never loved me!"
She paused as she looked at his facial expressions for any signs of disception. Then she pulled out a large piece of parchment. She rolled it out and put it on his lap.
"Do you know who I am?" She asked.
"Your the theif on the news. Your Isabella Ink." The man replied.
"And do you know what I can do?"
"No one has ever witnessed your abilities and lived, so how could I?"
She touched finger on the piece of paper. Ink flowed from her black nail and began to fill the paper up. The ink twisted and turned, formed Italian names and numbers. In seconds, there was a perfect map of Italy on his lap.
"Now, where is it?" She asked impatiently.
"Unless your could see something that I can't, I still have know idea where it is." The man let go a small cough which covered the map with spit and blood.
She lunged at him grabbing him by the throat. Her face was two inches away from his. She raised her right hand while her left still had him by the neck.
"I will ask you one more time before I use other means of finding the information in your mind. Where is the Workshop of Leonardo Da Vinci!?" She asked yelling at him.
The man remained limp in her arm. Her black lips turned into an sinister grin. She motioned her right hand toward his face. The man's eyes widened. She pressed her hand right onto his face.
The guards outside winced and cringed at the sounds comming from inside of the room. The screams echoed through the corridors creating a symphony of screams that pierced the night like a knife. Then everything went silent. Isabella emerged from the chamber, small ink tendrils slowly receeded back into her nails.
"We have a lead."
************************************************** *****
So there is no real protagonist yet, so if anyone wants to make one, feel free to introduce him/her. Obviously we have an antagonist so try and keep her in mind when making the next couple of chapters. -
Lol I'm pushing for a beard incarnate system!
just kidding um for the next incarnate probabably as spoiled is gonna get us some new attacks. The one after that I'm hoping like others for some magical pets or alien pets or mutant pets or something other than more tech or human pets. Its kind of lame that there is robots and now clockwork spoiled and seers spoiled but only demons are the ones that are different and you have to buy the expansion to get it. I would like something like a power that infected citizens with like an alien life form or called upon aliens like some Rikti or some magical pets like sprites or something along those lines. -
Quote:In an article recently, Matt Miller said they felt that the nemesis feature (I guess similar to CO) is addressed via AE, so felt having a set in-game nemesis was too limiting (just read it today)
As stated before, this idea could be limiting but in my opinion it would actually be somewhat liberating because of the ability to develop your heroes story the way you wanted it to. You could join your nemesis after being brutally defeated and switch sides. Or you could join the forces of good after many of your plans fall to pieces. Again, dont get me wrong, AE was a great addition, but for story building purposes and for reward purposes, this would add onto the already great mission building mechanic in City Of Heroes.
Side note, I can see your having a problem I brought up before with the limited number of AE slots.
Side note, would you mind bringing me that article? I cant find that, the other one was a good. -
Quote:In his interview with 10 Ton Hammer, Matt "Positron" Miller stated why there will be no Nemesis system.
This is the part your talking about right?
"Theres been a couple of things that weve looked at in other games and said thats good for that type of game, but it doesnt fit into the City of Heroes universe. Im wracking my brains over this. The Nemesis System [from Champions Online] was something we looked at, but it was something that would be very limiting in the end. We decided against it. I think that was what pushed us even more into the mission architect system because then it wasnt pre-canned missions that your nemesis was going to show up in. You could create your own nemesis in the mission architect, and you could craft the story of you fighting your nemesis in the mission architect. Then you could go into that mission and execute that story. That was kind of where our version ended up."
As i stated before the only problem with the architect system is that it only allows you to make 3 missions. I constantly get frustrated because I cannot post the second installment of my second story without deleting my first one. And also, if I want my fourth character to have a "nemesis" in AE, I would have to delete one of my previously made missions. Another problem is as I stated before, the insentive to go to the AE is quite small. Sure there is tickets which can get you rare salvage and a chance to get a recipe that you want, but unless you play a farm mission, the ticket amount recieved is quite small. I know they decieded against it, but in the future, a newer revised nemesis system could be used to add on to the existing AE system because more missions against your nemesis system would mean better development of the story of your character and more rewards for completing missions. -
The only problem with that is the number of architect slots you get. 3 architect slots is kind of weak to create a nemesis. Most story archs take at least 5 to build up an enemy. This nemesis system would make it so there could be infinate nemesis missions that only you would play. Infinate unique missions versus 3 missions..

This thing is taking off! Thank you for responding Maniac_ Raid. I will respond to your second post in kind
.
1) In previous post, perhaps a week cap for making new nemesis missions.
2) Well you could do that, but then you would have farmers breaking it because there are farm AE missions. Adding random drops would only make that system worse. But it could work.
4)Ok so base raiding is out.
As for me pushing this idea, like i said its only an idea. While I would like it to be implemented soon and for them to use HARRY KNUCKLES MADE THIS ISSUE on the cover, I know how meticulous you have to be when making a new update so I'm willing to let this take some time to make and develop so when issue 20 launches, they can look at this forum and all the ideas that people had and say "hmm.... maybe we can use this..."
5) 30 it is then because it gives praetorians time to pick their side and get the feel of primal earth before heading to face their nemesis.
6)Doesn't mean it won't happen.....
7)The choice idea is interesting. Like i stated before, your nemesis can be a computer player which you create. However making a choice makes it a little easier on new players, so lets go with choice. -
Quote:Yeah, I get what your saying. I mean you and your buddy fighting off your buddies nemesis would be cool. What would be cooler is like I said before if one nemisis added another persons nemesis into their mission. Then both heroes have sort of a mutual mission that they have to complete because both of their baddies are in it. kinda like both of their nemesis' teamed up to conquer the world. (insert name here) and (insert other name here) must join forces to combat this evil duo! That's very close to what I was thinking. You could create your nemesis with something very similar to the AE interface and that creation would show up more often in the tip missions. I recently ran tips and got Desdemona in 3 out of 5 missions and it provided that sort of arch-rival feel which I really enjoyed. Also, if you are on a team with someone else who had a nemesis, it would be really good to perhaps include that character as well to provide that comic book "team-up" feel.

Quote:Thanks for the concern. As i mentioned before you can't have your nemesis under the same global name. I have seen people having two accounts active at the same time, but those people are poppin $30 bucks a month on farming...so NCsoft is making some serious money for their virtual money.... perhaps a timer to make new nemesis missions to fix this kind of a problem? Maybe there would be like a week timer to make a new nemesis mission or something because I agree that farmers could use and abuse this system.Welcome to the forums, Whardel
The lead developer, War Witch, has mentioned some kind of nemesis/arch-enemy system before, but she said that if they added something like that to the game, they'd want to make sure they did it right - which probably means make it a major feature, and make it hard to exploit or farm. -
Well the pvp thing is optional for those people who dont want to fight cpu, i personally would want some sort of a pvp system in this game because it is BEEEEEGGGGGINNNNGGG for a new one. I wanna pummel my buddies or random people because after a while, just beating up cpu's is kinda boring.
-
Quote:As i said before there will be an option to pick your own nemesis or another player as a nemesis. the level 40/50 second one is an interesting idea....it's a nice idea but rather then the pvp route i would rather the option to create my own nemesis give him his own look and powers. The Nemesis then will randomly show up in your tip/newspaper missions to try and stop you. lvl 40 and 50 you can create another one.

responding to your issues Maniac_ Raid
1)Edit: Addressing your first issue, you can't pick a nemisis under your global name, so that fixes that issue. Thank you
2)Yes its kinda like mission architect, but the architect is again, like the other PvP areas, optional.Dont get me wrong, I love the mission architect, its just that it needs that incentive to make/ play the missions other than the ticket system to get rare salvage. Other than that, you might as well just to some TF's. These missions will have serious reprocussions to those who do not respond quickly.
3) As i said before, it will be a certain amount of time. I should have specified this, but the more reward the villain wants, the bigger the investment, the bigger the level, and the bigger the time span. There will be like a 24 hour timelimit minumum to stop these nemisis plots or something along those lines.
4) I don't know about base raiding myself, partially because my supergroup is kind of new, and partially because I don't exactly see the purpose of it, but I can take out the part with the villain raiding the supergroup bases. As for the beta testing thing.... if that's true then perhaps this would be a better suggestion for Issue 21?
5) But praetorians can stay in praetoria as long as they want because of the new update. But again this is all hypothetical, so the level cap can be lowered to like 25 or 20.
6) Yeah, pvp kinda is dull like i stated before. with my idea, this will promote more player versus player action.
7) Ok, i appologize if I said or implied "forced" pvp. But you can avoid these missions in general if you don't want to do them or cannot do them.
Whew! Thank you for the serious constructed critizicm!
As for you Mike. Yes, he/she is kind of your nemesis but again, your doppleganger dies after you complete the mission arch. This nemisis sticks with you as you progress.
To all other people wanting to add more. Yes, I know there are still many parts I left out so please fire all questions with no hesitation.
Other additions I noticed
Higher level heroes/villains will gain a lot of prestige plus other bonuses such as incarnate salvages if they succeed in these missions.
If a hero/villan is higher level then their nemesis, their level will be decreased, like in exemplaring, to match their nemesis'. -
That would be cool. Having like a second aura in addition to the halo because I dont really think the halo is an aura so much as a head detail. But thats just my opinion
