Didn't someone already make a web app that tracks all the Twitter accounts of the Devs automatically? I coulda swore I'd seen that somewhere.

Quote:ive got a couple questions about it...
ok, so ive got a completely copied toon on test at the moment. made it on test cause i didnt think it would be that big a deal there. now that ive almost gotten her to 20 on test i really really like the look and name of the toon. i know fora fact that if i where take her onto live servers i would be generic'd in name and costume quicker than i can count to 50. i cant say i dont agree with that action but i would like for that not to happen. her name is Elsie D. and she looks EXACTLY like shes does in the comics.
as far as costume goes, what can i do to not get generic'd but still keep the general idea. about the name would Elsee D or Elsie Dee be enough get by?
the other question i have had for quite some time... i have always had and interest in the characterization of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. whether it be the biblical versions or the marvel comic versions they are interesting and would make good toons. im not talking about the look im talkin about the names...
would i get into it for using the names or not?
Since this is Player Questions and all, I've got a question.
Why is it SO HARD for people to be original and not want to copy someone else's work or ideas? -
I've been avoiding participating in any betas open or otherwise for the last couple of issues. I don't want the new issues spoiled for me, I'd rather be pleasantly surprised, so I keep myself in the dark intentionally.

Quote:It's a relic from before stores were marked on the map. Your contacts were the only ones marked ON THE MAP where you could buy enhancements. The stores DID exist, you just had to either know already where they were or FIND THEM yourself.
Sidetrack, but I've always wondered what the point of having contacts sell enhancements is anyway. Is it just to trick the unknowing into paying more when they could have headed to the nearest store? -
Quote:Just gloating, sorry...
Nah, not sorry... haha... just had a little ol miracle with a miracle IO...
Well, my Human PB is about IOd to the gills now. 27 purples, -KB IO, LotG +Rchg, Numina +Recovery. So I run several Toggles all the time, plus have Hasten on Auto (Not perma, but less than 20 seconds from it, so close enough). For most content, I don't have much of an Endurance problem, but I've noted that for some GM and AV fights I start getting low on End. It takes a while - I have decent recovery, but nevertheless, this is my pimped-out toon, and I want as much chrome as possible.
So, I figured, why not get a Miracle +Recovery and put it in Health - then maybe I can be the first PB to solo Hamidon or something. I look at prices at Wents... Holy Carp!, they've gone up just like Purples!! 150 Million+... Really don't feel like spending that much.
Do you ever get those feelings, like the stars are lined up just right. I had a few merits from some TFs, so I go over the Merit Vendor. I'm explicitly wanting one single expensive recipe... I still feel like I'm in the zone...
*Cha-ching* Random Recipe Roll - and I've got me a Miracle +Recovery.
What are the odds...? I haven't been living *that* right haha.
I just got one the other day... that's where I got about half of the money that I'm "wasting" in the other thread. They really aren't THAT rare or hard to get, you just have to keep doing the same random roll every time and you'll get it, eventually. -
See the difference between you and me Chaos is that as a rep farmer, you shamelessly and artificially inflate a player-generated number for fun, thus disrupting and destroying the system for all the other uses.
While I as a harmless nice person am using my money on the market to artificially inflate a player-gen.....
....aww.....
.....CRAP!

Quote:No, you're buying out the market of affordable salvage. I've done the same with griefing in mind.
Well that's because you're an EVIL marketeer and rep farmer, and I'm a harmless nice pleasent person with lots of money to spend and give to people that are selling stuffs! See, cause I'm nice! -
Quote:...didn't you just look around on the Market forums for a way to entertain yourself by throwing away money?
Ya big goof.
Two different characters Fullmens, my Fire/Regen scrapper is the rich and bored dude, and PK on... well, any server needs more respecs.
I don't believe in influence transfers. In my role-playing each character is separate and aren't being played by the same player.
Yeah, I'm weird, but you already knew that. -
I'm griefing by giving to 1800 people the money that they want? Wow, you've got an interesting definition of griefing!
-
Day Two - Bank: 287 million
Taking a look down the invention salvage list again, I didn't want to do the same thing this time, but what did I see?
Mathematic Proof
Average Selling Price 1000
Quantity 1900
Bidding 45
Only 45 people bidding and 1900 available? Well that's not right, that's WAY too much supply!
So, let's go on a buying spree, shall I? Okay I buy as many as I can for 5,000, then sell them to those poor souls searching for them. All gone. Now what.
Still over 1800 left and no one wants them? Well then let's waste some money and get rid of them!
Alrighty....
*one hour of buying incrementally later*
Left with
231 million
I've bought ALL BUT 9, and the remaining ones are selling for MORE THAN 6 MILLION influence. I could try to find out how much they're selling them for, but nah, I don't want to give those speculators the satisfaction.
So we're down from 1900 supply down to 9. With the last sale being for ONE MILLION influence! That's a lot better than that 1000 influence price that I started with!
Pics, so it happened!
So I ended up spending only 56 million to essentially DESTROY 1900 mathematic proofs forever and drain the market down to less than a dozen supply.
Wow, that's cheaper than my last experiment, and I arguably accomplished more!
What to do next, what to do. -
Quote:Actually, if you're going to spend real world money anyway, you're better off buying influence / infamy from one of the dozens of companies that spam your email box. At $20-30 per billion, you could get a heck of a lot of respec recipes for the same $10 - about 50 respecs for what you've paid so far if you bought them at 20m apiece.
I'm not saying that's the way it should be, but it is the way it is. I'd never consider paying $10 for something I could get in game through infamy.
Suuuuure, you go ahead and do that and come back to me when that company from Hong Kong has drained all of your bank accounts... k? -
Um, that's exactly what Xenite was talking about... I used to have that exact comic in my signature for the last month or so....
Paying attention FTL! -
No, that's a totally inaccurate summation. The correct concise version would be "Anonymity cultivates idiocy".

Forum Reputation 09-04-2009 10:57 AM I want a pug and don't have one and you do...jerkface
I don't have a pug, that's a random picture I found on the net. Don't assume, it just makes YOU look like a jerkface. -
Quote:I've bought 3 so far.
I don't know anyone who ever paid the $10 for the store recipe, when you can buy then with in-game currency at the market For me, $10 is a LOT cheaper and easier than earning 20 million influence.
Then again, I'm comfortably well off financially, so it doesn't bother me.
And I LOVE respeccing. -
They have made themselves their own personal deities, yes.
