Bingo. As long as you're having fun, do whatever you want. But if your game feels like a job, then you've lost the game... no matter how high your stats are or how uber your loot is. And you can quote me on that.

Quite funny situation, that... people leaving "smaller" servers perpetuates the problems I see people posting about. Not finding people, having too many people on Virtue and Freedom for special events. Heh.
Yeah, it's called a "self fulfilling prophecy". From all those that can't even conjure up enough energy to try to form their own team.

With SuperSideKicking, I really see no excuse for this anymore, as a team can be composed of anyone at any level.

Anyone that can't find a team on a "low population" server just isn't trying.

By the way, my challenge still stands.
  3. I have characters on those servers too, yes. And any bias would be a correctional bias.
  4. I'm not moving any of my characters... instead I am starting NEW characters on almost every server. Why would I want to perpetuate the ever-constant "growth" and sheeple-ness of Freedumb and UnVirtuous?

Be a part of the solution, not a part of the problem. Go serverless yourself and play everywhere.

Sounds more like "too many cooks spoil the broth".

I'd love to help them, if they'd give me access to the code and a way to test it...

I haven't seen any calls for help from the staff yet, they just seem to have disappeared like ninja into the night!

    Here you go.

And here is the Shadow Shard stuff I was talking about.

For the posted build, I'll probably slot some powers slightly differently. For example, I'll put a endurance reduction for the deflection and insulation shield instead of recharge. If you buff a player with both shields, the first shield should be already recharged when you go to the next player.
I never even looked at his slotting. But yes, any recharge enhancers in the bubbles are a total waste. They recharge fast enough already and the bubbles last FOUR minutes.

Just out of curiosity Mondo, did you read my guide? If not, click the little green bubbles in my signature.

It's never too late to respec.

I dunno, Force Field is a very "passive" set. When my attacks aren't recharged I really have nothing much to do that I can see.
That's because you didn't take Force Bolt.
  13. You're already 18? Well if you're dead set on Stamina by 20.... then honestly I'd probably respec and make it look something like this instead:

Aim can really wait until you're fighting the high level enemies that use a lot of Defense, and the third attack I would not call nearly as "important" as giving such a huge damage buff to your entire team, especially with all the other stuff you can do when you have no attacks recharged.

This is must my opinion, but I think Assault is really THAT good and THAT important to have on a Defender that it should be one of the first things picked whenever possible.
  14. Looks mostly okay to me, just a couple things. I'd Switch Assault and Maneuvers, if not pushing Assault back even FURTHER. The extra little bit of Defense is nice, but won't be THAT good in the early game until you're able to slot the defense bubbles out to the max, which won't happen until later.

Assault however will give you its full benefit early on, and speed up the whole team greatly. Everyone will love you. I for one pick Assault as one of my first power picks after I get my two blasts. It's just so helpful on both a team and solo.

Also I'd push Repulsion Bomb up sooner. It's now one of the best powers that FF has. It's knockDOWN, can stun enemies (40% chance for each enemy) AND does about the same damage to an AoE as your first level blast. It's totally sharky, complete!

"Cage" as in Detention Field, Sonic Cage, Black Hole, and Dimension Shift?
Yup, there's tons of things that can be caged when they can't be held. That's why I love Detention Field. It may be a PITA for those single-minded teammates that get scrapperlock, but it's almost always a SUREFIRE way to take something nasty out of the fight for a while. There are VERY FEW things that cannot be caged in the game.

By the way Zam, who's your avatar? I've always wondered and it looks VERY familiar... like from a 90s cartoon I used to watch or something.

For example if the team has a FF Defender then I'm quite likely to jump in an take the alpha with my Blaster. Sure I don't have the survivability of a tank, but with the shields up I've got enough survivability to take out the minions in the spawn by which time someone else will hopefully show up to deal with the bosses (my Blaster is AR so bosses are hard to kill).
    You are awesome.

By the way, when I am on an FF Defender, especially in the early levels before tanks are "tankable", I usually tank for the team with PFF. Especially on sewer teams. Once the alpha is taken, the rest of combat usually goes very smoothly. I've found that 9 out of 10 team wipes are caused in the first 10 seconds of a battle.

    City Scoop?

I'd just like to know why it's taking so long... I mean it's just HTML or BB coding... It's been quite a while hasn't it? Like months now?
  18. -There is a "secret" face and throne in the Shadow Shard. If you find it, you're awesome.

-The Storm Palace is an awesome place for a team to go farming. It is one big circle filled with high level enemies that all drop magic salvage and all have a chance to drop purples. There is also only one exit and entry point so you can't accidentally fall out easily.

-Learning to use the jump points spread throughout the level is actually FASTER than using most other travel means, once you learn how to navigate them properly. Vidiotmaps is great for this.
  19. Hube, welcome to the game!

I'm sorry that you're having such troubles. I'd like to point you to the Guide To My Threads listed in my signature below this post, I have several guides that are geared towards new players. I'd strongly recommend you read the Combat Handbook and the Guide to Teams.

After reading the guide to teams, you can use the tips in it to quickly get teams on ANY server, even servers that appear to be "dead". And once you command your OWN teams, YOU get to decide the tactics and kick anyone that's being an idiot and not listening. That's a big plus.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about the content of the guides. And keep asking questions! This is one of the most friendly and helpful forums on the net!

    Kin/???

So far it's just fine. But I'm also not a min/maxer, so I suppose YMMV.

I just rolled up a Kin/Assault Rifle. It looks like it's going to be a BLAST!
