Okay.. thank you VERY much for the welcome and advice.

Hoping that you come back to this thread, because here are a few more links to get you started. Great resources for self-help:

Also keep in mind that there is also an in-game Help channel! -
Welcome to Paragon City, we're glad to have you!
Kinetics is a VERY fast-paced powerset, but also very powerful. It's not difficult to learn at all though. If you want to learn the game, I'd probably suggest something "slower". Perhaps one of the shielding sets, such as Sonic, Cold, or Force Fields?
As I said, Kinetics is strong, but it's all click-powers, and they speed up EVERYTHING. When you're first learning, I'd suggest a "slower" powerset just so that you have the time to learn how the game works.
Take a look at my Combat guide in my signature to get started on playing the game, and if you're interested at all in Force Fields, I have a guide for that too.
And again, welcome. -

taking all the powers in FF (except maybe Detention Field; I never have like intangibles), because they are all good, and I like them.

YAY! My faith in humanity is RESTORED!!!!!
I'm so sorry you died in the movie, Dr. Nick.
It was pretty funny though.... Dr. Nick appears and says "Hey everybody!" and then gets killed, and then I literally said out loud by reflex in the theater "Bye Dr. Nick!" really really loud. Then everyone stared at me and I sat down uncomfortably.... it was pretty funny though looking back at it. -

the player has little influence on its effectiveness. All you can do is buff shields and try to keep dispersion on everyone.

I've played a Brute on red side all the way up to level 30 something, and I couldn't stand it the entire time. I hate the look for the world, the stories, and the concept. The ONLY thing I liked was the AT itself. So, I'm hoping that GoRo will allow us to play all the ATs from level 1 on either side. That's what I'm hoping more than anything.

If all you want is a generic, lowest-common-denominator keyboard, you can find them for ten dollars or less
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup. Why would I want something fancy when the cheap stuff gets the job done just fine and doesn't cost tons of cash to replace? I've been using cheap keyboards for over 10 years and never had a problem. -
Loading time in this game usually has a LOT more to do with internet connection and the route your data takes from your computer to the server than it does with your computer's specs.

Boy do they ever get hostile over that, esp. if I clairify what 'You are not looking for a team' means in the Team Search UI.
[/ QUOTE ]
The flag doesn't mean you're not looking for a team, it means that you're not ACTIVELY looking for a team. If you really don't want to be bothered, then turn on "Don't accept invites". That one people usually listen to, because they have to.
Or, just use the /Hide command. -
Spamming. It's serious business, don't do it. For real.

So, I was gagged in-game for 24 hours (and with good reason!), and I added a search comment to my character that said so, so that people wouldn't be confused as to why I wasn't chatting with them when I teamed up.
I then get invited to a team, and the new team leader asks: "what u get gagged for?"
....
*facepalm*
Anyone else had any moments like this lately with comments so stupid that all you can do is shake your head? -
To quote another forumite in another thread, my heart will go on.

I had to google this to even know WTH you guys are talking about. When was this even announced?
[/ QUOTE ]
It wasn't, you only learned about it from in-game content and a few random dev posts here and there, but nothing official I think. -
Or it's you from the future leaving notes to yourself...
-
...still coming? Inquiring minds want to know. We haven't heard anything about it for a while now. Was it just forgotten, or has it already come? Let the wild speculation begin!
And, before anyone else does it:

The only thing I wish the system had that would solve all of my issues with MA: Allow published arcs to be hidden from all other players.
Other than people who want to test their arcs without some idiot telling them that their arc is incomplete (which happened to me while I was unlocking stuff), that might not be a useful feature.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's called the Test feature, and it's there for a reason. Use it.
And don't whine about "I don't get tickets in test mode". Testing an arc isn't meant to give you rewards, it's meant for TESTING.
If you still want your tickets, you'll have to deal with people low-balling you for publishing an unfinished arc.
Tough, deal with it.
