I can definitely relate to being with people who see, but do not see. I don't usually notice odd shape pairings, but I'm big on noticing colors, texture, and light. Light especially. I'm addicted to the interplay of shadow and light (also why I notice things about color), and I point out things while out and about that people around me never notice.
I often miss shape pairings, though. Not surprised, really. My overall vision is abnormal, so I have to see by specifically focusing. If I'm looking at a wide area, I'm unable to see parts of it. Its why I always appreciate having weird stuff that I might do pointed out to me.
Of course... sometimes a shoe is just a shoe! But I loves ya anyway ^.^ -
Fenian has very strange taste in footwear, that's all it is =P

Quote:*pats JK on the head* Its not really an inside joke, dearie. The majority of people here are aware of Liefeld, and that is the point of the joke that this piece is an homage of. CR linked to it above there ^.^LOLS!...makes me think of what Bayani would look like if Rob Liefeld got a hold of him. (this is somewhat of an inside joke, but for those of you that don't know Rob...he was HUGE in the early to mid-90's and more or less fell out of favor as fast as he rose...and he was notorious for "gadgets and excessive gear" for all his costumes. The most funny being gun designs that look like vacuum cleaners or mysterious gun stocks popping out from behind the shoulders with no guns attached...lols. He did establish the look for Cable from the X-Men, but that's not Cable's fault.

Sorry CR.... that was definitely a BIG stretch of the imagination.... and you're the only one who was able to see it without a detailed diagram!
Perhaps its all that clean living ^.^ -
Wahahaahah! I'm sure TA will get a kick out of this!
Hey, he's not in a tutu for this one ^.^ -
I made it flat because, being a female who owns a pair of long skin-tight boots, the kind of boot those witch ones strike me as is the kind that is very stretchy and thin, to really hug those curves. That material shrinks up and doesn't hold any shape when there's no leg in it =D
I can see how it can totally be miss-read as paper though. So that's my bad. I do have to agree that you're smoking something pretty good to see a wooden duck. Share! -
>.>...... <.<....
OK, maybe its CLOSE.... but we all know I don't love anything better than Swanzy's accent! -
Don't let ChristopherRobin fool you, people.... he just enjoys maddening us with walls of his damnable orange text!!!!!!

Foo just made Sister Psyche skyrocket in my estimation.
-
Foo is truly a person to emulate in all aspects of life.

Thanks, Viv. I can also look back on my progression and the assignments I did for my classes and say to myself "This is very much a worthwhile investment" ^.^

And now Caemgen's piece is all done! He might put this in his own thread too, but since he hasn't yet, she's going up in my corner!

Bwahaha, good way to work in the hot chick! Very nice work, Juggy. And its nice to see you challenged yourself by choosing a composition that you know gives you trouble. I think that also is in the spirit of the games!
-
Thanks for taking the plunge and being the first to get their work up!
You should post it in here, too. Get everyone else moving their behinds ^.^ -
We sent you an invite to be a FArt-icipant in the group. You should be able to submit once you accept.
For everyone else - Bayani has changed the JANUARY FArt Comp folder permissions so anyone can submit to it. For subsequent months, only those artists that participated in January will be able to submit. -
I don't see it in your own gallery. Have you uploaded it yet?
-
Yeah, entrants should be submitting their pieces into the group area. Its better for the artists to submit their own pieces from their dA accounts, so all views and personal acclaim can go to their pages =)

Vectors are a VERY touchy subject. All.... math and whatnot.
I don't miss the days of having to vector MY butt off for Digital Illustration, I gotta tell ya ^.^ -
The order goes to my email inbox and I get the print from my local printshop and send it. They're pretty close by and I'm over there a lot and they're very good. My costs vs. the price I charge gives me a much nicer profit margin, but the print cost is competitive.
-
I've never sold a print through dA, but I have via my site (and not just the commissions, I have a couple pieces on there specifically made for prints)... which I like much better because I actually get the money =P

Winter Olympics is still Olympics. I actually also did Olympics because of the upcoming Winter Games!
And Lousy_Day: Dunno if this is the same for everyone in the group, but when I go to submit my deviations to my page, I now have the option of also putting the deviation right into the group, too! There's a drop-down with all the different areas of the group, and you should be able to select the FArt folder right at that point. Pretty snazzy. -
It would be in everyone's best interest to post your piece as soon as you're finished, because if I see something that would disqualify the piece, I will let you know. That way, you might have time to fix it.
With the way dA works, you can edit your deviations after you post them with an updated file. So yes, you would be able to get something in for the deadline, but spiffy it up some more before I gather the pieces together for final screening/judging.
I won't put the pieces onto my site until after the deadline, which will ensure I'll only be getting your final piece.
I think that all works out.
