Quote:I'd mention my best Posi run time, but I honestly don't want it in this thread so easily viewed and skewed because of...Task Force Master? with a new power? I'd give it a go, but lordy, Posi is tough enough with no restrictions.
It is however lower than anyone has mentioned so far... and the fastest run I know of is 10 minutes better than mine. Posi is not the torture it once was, yet so many people rely on their old memories of horror from doing it in the days of "yesterday" that they just don't give it a fair shot again. How many have Posi horror stories that are pre IO and how many of those people have given it a shot since?
Posi is easy. I'm always up for it and always happy to get people on Pinnacle through it fast and painless.
Now... about a Master of Positrons Taskforce Badge please.
For an accolade power: Make the accolade TP you to any TF contact. Heck, make it usable as often as an Ouro portal, it would do alot to speed up TF's in this day and age. Sure I have to trapse around all the city zones, but getting to a contact to get the next mission, cake! Or getting from one place to another so that the TF that is waiting to start won't be waiting on me!
Please please please devs. Please. -
I think adding the badges alone, and possibly an accolade for Master of (insert all), would go along way to getting the lower lvl TFs/SFs run more often, revitalizing old content.
And keep said badgers occupied for a week or so... -
2 completely different powers.
Smoke Flash is an AoE placate.
Blinding powder is -perception, low mag sleep, low mag confuse and -tohit.
Any answers you get will be based on playstyle. -

At the level he's talking about, Accuracy, Recharge, and Hold duration are going to be more useful than the 20% chance for the extra mag 2. If you can cast it fast enough and have it hold long enough to stack three deep you can hold the huntsman.
If you are playing /Rad, RI should keep him weak enough to survive till you get him shut down I would think.
[/ QUOTE ]
You'd be surprised.
And he seems to be looking for instant gratification over stacking, otherwise I would hope he figured out one more cast would have fixed the issue. -
get IOs Decimation:chance to hold and Lockdown: Chance to hold. slotted into your ST hold power. This will give you a faster chance at locking down pain mobs.
-
Share pain is great for MMs in defensive/bodyguard because it shares the damage between the pets. With the toggle AE regen buff, the damage becomes minimal and a thus becomes an incredible power: huge heal, no downside. It won't stop the +regen of the AE toggle.
i have all primary except the attacks, and all secondary, but taken in an odd order workable to my AT... I love to rez, give me the recharge buff for it anyday! -
I would never drop trip mine... A mine field is the best way to say "I Love you, I'll kill you" to an AV. And a few dropped here and there during a fight help too.
I am a fan of challenge. While I can maintain an AVs attention on webnade alone, I find that challenge minimalized the job and slotted with the psi damage proc gave me... becomes an end free chance at bonus damage... -

The suicide bomber power in Traps is especially thematically inappropriate for Heroes.
[/ QUOTE ]
That depends on how fanatic they are for the cause, or how important it is. Sacrificing yourself to stop the evil whatever isn't all that unusual in fiction. If the RP aspects bother you, just tell yourself they are willingly sacrificing themselves, while an evil mastermind sets the bomb off too fast for them to escape just to get his jollies.
[/ QUOTE ]
So you're going to cry out, "HENCHMEN #3! DON'T DO IT!" every time you use Detonation?
Because ORDERING one of your fanatic henchmen to become a suicide bomber isn't really considered heroic these days, and some people will get seriously offended.
[/ QUOTE ]
Honestly, who is so sensitive that they would get offended by non-living graphics exploding on their monitors? If those people do they really need to step outside of their closed little worlds and realize it's just a game and no one was really hurt.
I'm shocked someone even suggested this. Honestly, what is the IQ lvl of someone who would get offended?
"OHH NO! YOU KILLED KENNY! YOU [censored]!"
I take it said person who get's insulted also writes letters to Comedy Central everytime Kenny bites it too. -
[ QUOTE ]
Masterminds dispose of their minions without a second thought. They are seen as completely expendable and this is properly reflected in the Villain Masterminds. A Hero Mastermind presents a bit of a difficulty because they work just the opposite way: they don't treat their men like expendables, they treat them with care and dignity. They care about their troops' fate. Unfortunately, this won't be reflected in game mechanics (as far as I know) like the Villain Mastermind approach is. That's what makes Hero Masterminds a bit difficult to take seriously (especially those with living human troops). The suicide bomber power in Traps is especially thematically inappropriate for Heroes.
It'd be nice to see some minor mechanics changes to Archetypes depending on what your alignment is. Most likely won't happen though.
Hero Dominators (sadists), Stalkers (assassins) and Corruptors (taking advantage of the weak) will also be thematically weird for Heroes. But Going Rogue is unavoidable, and does open up some interesting possibilities, so perhaps it's best not to analyze too deeply.
[/ QUOTE ]
There are so many arguements to counter each of yours.
1. There are good masterminds. Think Hanibal in the A-team
2. Even the evil AT bonuses are still thematically appropriate as you are fighting crime. Just because I use the enemies weakend state to scourge him and defeat him faster doesnt make me bad, it makes me a faster do-gooder.
Not all good guys play by the rules. Batman for instance. -

What is the advantage of Painbringer on any pet anymore? No more recharge bonuses. The end recovery is of miniscule help generally. So we are looking at the minor +damage. Not a good reason to justify the set.
[/ QUOTE ]
Here, I quoted it for you, the part where I mentioned the damage part... the very minor part of the power that still affects pets... sure the end rec does too, but honestly how often do your pets suffer for end? -
No, I didn't fail to realize the extra damage, infact if you go back and READ my first post, I mentioned it.
Again, it's not the super uber power on a soloing MM, not as much as it would be for a teaming MM who used it on a teammate.
Fortunately, Pain is a hell of a set without it.
I have it, I have the rez, I have every power in the set. I also like to team. -

I however went Thugs/Pain. It was the absolute easiest MM I have ever made. I steamrolled everything on the hardest difficulty starting in my teens. There was so very little to do or worry about. It is my recommended combo for beginners to the AT.
[/ QUOTE ]
Are you blind? The thing gives an AMAZING amount of regen when slotted correctly, and that damage bonus is very nice and stacks VERY well.
Look closely at it again
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, I am framilliar with what it does. Sure it does great regen and recovery, but honestly BOTH go to waste on assbot. Lemme explain. The recovery in negligable as my assbot rarely gets drained of end. And the regen, nice, but as it is, IM A PAIN DOMINATION MM. He's standing in my AE with every other pet. He's fully healed. So again, what am I doing right to keep my pets up and solo the hell outta crap without having to PB my top tier pet that you're not?
Or are you theorycrafting about PB off of the numbers you see that it can do to targets. -

Anyone solo without using their personal 3 shooties or a shootie from a patron set?
[/ QUOTE ]
I do. Never took any of the primary attack powers. Didn't take any pp attacks either. Bots/traps. I use fitness, presence, first aid, speed pools. I prefer the ST taunt from presence for the faster recharge and slotted with the psi damage proc. That's the closest thing I get to an attack other than tripmine but you won't see me dropping those in AV fights generally.
Siracco PP btw. His shield is love...
Never met an AV I didn't like. -

Team Teleport and Ninjas are made for each other. I set them on agressive and let them go as I TP from group to group with them. I rarely lose any and they melt mobs.
I do not have to do any ninja micromanaging with Team TP. They are exactly where I put them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ninja on aggressive?! *shudders* I have seen ninja run rampant if put in aggressive. It's rarely IMO worth doing.
[/ QUOTE ]I can agree with that. Due to the retarded AI I have to use goto aggressive on jounin and oni otherwise they never use their swords, all while keeping the genin on defensive follow. It might be different with team tp because they would already be in melee and use all their attacks.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly! It's not as horrific as you might think actally. It's actually pretty damn great as far as MM's go. You unleash a high damage set to do exactly what they do best. And if you are TPing them around, your placement is where you want them with one easy click. It was the quickest way to tame a set who's AI likes to run wild. -

I have a 50 sonic/MM/elec blaster. Her battle cry is "Taste my cones of Justice!"... I have 5 cone attacks and 1 PBAoE. Those are my only attacks I use generally unless I am held/slept/etc...
With hover, if possible on the map, I am above the groups shooting down. There is no need to line up cones with this method. I just rain down death and destruction from above like the waffler that I am. -
[ QUOTE ]
Personally, I'd hate propel on my grav/kin. Never had it never will, as it is now. Can't stand the long animation. But hey, if you like it go for itNow if they made it a cone attack (which would make much more sense
) then I'd pick it up in a heartbeat!
[/ QUOTE ]
I completely agree. It should be a cone, just makes sense. I mean honestly, how accurate can you be throwing a forklift into a group of 10 mobs standing close together to only hit 1 you were aiming for. -
[ QUOTE ]
Do not skip Propel. If you ever plan to solo even a little bit, you'll need that big hitter to kill things. Grav has relatively poor control, and /Kin isn't really the Ideal secondary for it. You're going to need to KILL things as a form of mitigation, which is why Propel is in the set.
If all you do is team, then take lift instead.
In Grav you can skip either Lift ( you solo some ) or Propel ( you only ever team ). Dimension shift you not only can skip, you should skip it. It just confuses and upsets your teammates. I've never been on a team where it was being used that it wasn't more of a problem for the team than an aid.
In /Kin you can skip Siphon Power, or better yet, take it early and respec out of it at 38. You can also skip Increase Density and unless you're waiting to 26 for a travel power, inertial reduction. Since you can no longer SB your pet I will probably skip Speed Boost in future builds. It depends on whether you really want to spend half your time buffing teammates, or if you would rather play the game. There are a couple really long threads from last month on that topic so you can look there for other opinions on Speed Boost.
Take Siphon Speed, and Hasten. You're going to need them to get your limited controls back up as fast as possible.
[/ QUOTE ]
Sorry, but propel is the biggest piece of crap around. Just because it gives some big numbers doesn't make it a worth while power esp when you can spam crush faster for a higher cummulative total. If you're really impatient get lift too, but propel? NEVER!!!!!
And SB, while I hate it, is very worth while in a team setting.
Take propel if you are enamored with the graphics, but when you are tired of waiting for the animation times to finish, get rid of it and get somethign that may hit alittle lighter, but it will be up in half the time with a third of the cast time. Crush is your friend. -
Skip propel. To be honest, I skip lift and propel as well as DS. Crush is a better atk than either of the other choices. With veteran powers, it's quite skipable.
Kin, I skip repel and Inertial Reduction. While IR is nice, after 4 years I got tired of refreshing on my travels.
I'm of the mindset that skips stamina as well. Never had it, and I will never need it. -
If you REALLY feel that your MM is gimp because you can't use those sets, then either a) make a thugs or b) make a storm.
I on the other hand, with a MM of about every primary, have been just fine and content with only the 1 set for so long, sure it would be nice, but if your playing it right, the pet's don't need the defense/resist.
You sir do not speak for me and as a few people said, not every IO set is ment for every power pool. -

I have a related question. I noticed that I get higher regen values with the numina and the regen tissue unique slotted in intergration with 3 numina IOs then I get when they are slotted in fast healing with the exact same 3 numina IOs. I've been scratching my head at this. Its the same thing with rttc. Can anyone explain this?
[/ QUOTE ]
There was a post on this phenomenon not so long ago. Apparently, the higher regen the power the IOs are placed in has an affect on the actual values that are given off by the IOs, increasing them beyond what they should be...
Atleast that is my understanding, I have not tested it for myself. I'd be curious to know what the variance of the values are on the individual powers if it is true. -
And the aura is ALWAYS on. Regardless of the power itself, I.E. tornado.
