Hello all, I've come to ask for your advice...
I've been out of the computer know-how market for a bit while I've been concentrating on other things, like family and school. However, I got a nice little holiday bonus and have been thinking about (finally) upgrading my Win7 64-bit rig.
I have a decent video card (geForce 460GTX), but what's really holding my system back is everything else, like the Core 2 CPU, PCI-E v1 mobo, and DDR2 RAM. The GPU barely flinches, but my CPU (especially) is slammed at 100% when I play games like DE:HR. So I'm looking at upgrading my 3 core components - CPU, mobo, & memory. Especially since the Mrs. primarily uses the PS3 as a Netflix and BluRay player these days.
I'm pretty comfortable in regards to the specs on the latter two, but when it comes to Intel CPUs, I'm a little confused. I know Core I5s don't support HyperThreading and don't have an integrated memory controller like the Core I7s do, but how important are these things? Are they worth paying an extra $100 for?
Can you help a gargoyle make an informed, yet frugal decision on a possible upgrade to his aging gaming fig? If so, thanks in advance -

Happily, for the last 24 hours not seen either of these problems, maybe they were just a hiccup. If the scenery problem does crop up again I will of course open a support ticket. -

I have a similar problem - no pics I'm afraid as yet.
It first happened when I was making a new char in the char creator screen. I can get as far as choosing the bottoms when they and everything below this point subsquently vanishes. If I perservere and ignore the fact that nothing appears to be there I can still complete creating the character and enter the game's first zone. When I arrive the char is completely and correctly dressed in my chosen attire. However, during the course of the sewer trial, or any other mission, parts of the costume vanish and all that is left are black boots, sometimes only the upper half of costume is missing.
Also, I am finding if I try to change the costume on any of my old chars at the tailors the above happens, all I can do to remedy it is to back out of the tailor without making any changes at all.
Besides the above I am find that sometimes parts of the scenery on maps are missing - in blocks - this comes and goes and can occur in various places.
I can't find anywhere where it says whether this is a known issue. As it is getting very near the holidays I am reluctant to bug/petition or raise a ticket with support regarding the above. I am wondering whether there is a work-around to save me doing so or will I just have to put up with it until after the holidays.
Any help and advice would be much appreciated. -
As others have said, Freedom, Virtue and lately Exalted VIP appear to be the most populated.
You could make sure your Looking for Team chat window is enabled, filling it in with a informative/funny remark can help also. Many's the time I dont seem to be getting invites I find that my LFT window is disabled, open it up and the invites soon come in. -

I did however realize two things that seem to cause it: 1) The character has been created after Freedom went live; and 2) The character's power tray had empty slots in it somewhere.

No serously...this happens to me with every char I log on, regardless of when I created that char and at a guesstimate I have ninety of the lil beggers.
Tis painful and time consuming but the only thing to do before the powers get round to fixing it is to refil all your trays. Sadly, you will lose all your macro's, I don't think there is a work around for them yet. -
