As the post title implies, this is a blatant plug to advertise open spots on the The Paragon Knights roster.
I shan't bore you with the nitty gritty, I'll try and keep it concise!
We're an SG that has been running for just shy of 2 years and feel reasonably established.
We like to keep busy & active and hopefully handfuls of you will have teamed with us or seen us buzzing about. The group is open to just about any activity going, there is a PvP element and a few dabble in the RP aspects but our strengths lie more the fact that we like to team up and have a good chat while doing so. Usually one evening a week is spent on specific teaming toons but I'm not giving away any more
Our core members are an incredibly friendly and helpful bunch with ideas to get activities and events going.
We're not die hard Prestige farmers and the SG is not driven by it, we just ask that you put some in when you can.
To keep it fresh, we reckon 30days inactivity (unless stated) is ample enough to warrant a spot freeing on the roster with the offer of return if you come back to the game.
We have a SG forum outside of the game which both useful for CoH but can also be quite fun! There's our own global channel to keep in touch across server/alt so events, aid or banter can be had also.
For fun we've got our own SG uniform (non compulsory) and there's a VG for our villainous alts and counter parts too.
Anyway, I've rambled on for long enough, if there's any new peeps out there or weathered veterans with no home or retiring/quiet SG's, give us a shout, look us up and try it out. I'm sure it's not everyone's cup of tea but for some it may be.

I'm sure the under 35s felt left out with the RWZ revamp
[/ QUOTE ]
They've not long had Faultline, then there's argument of 'the 30's doldrums' or 50s content; hence RWZ, which is open to all the doldrum 30's AND existing 50s from scratch. But that's another chat entirely!
It's true, the SG's and bases have been left to overgrow for some time and shame on them (devs)!
The CoP needs to be fixed & put back up ASAP or at least put a hero-side TF on the SG computer so it actually does something!
Maybe by utilising the Rikti invasion 'any level can team and fight' thingy so that SG members of any level can team without the unnecessary faffing of alts, sk's & exemps. -
My scrapper pvp's and pve's, do we think one or 2 accuracy SO's in his attacks?
Say x3 dmg, x1 acc & x2 defence debuff?
or
x3 dmg, x2 acc & x1 defence debuff? -
Gratz on yet another 50 Aurrius!
And looks like someone else picked up on the Union villain post faux pas! -
If I'm about tomorrow and I often am of a Monday evening, i'll join you.
McCabe is locked & loaded. -
Let me be the first to congratulate you old friend!
Helped i was there for the ding though! -
Welcome to the Onion server!
Gotta admit I've tried the Defiant server and its good, friendly and such but my works have gone into my SG & toons mainly Union side and that's where I reside most of the time! -
Has Onion only had the one successful raid?

Deaths Khytin.
Larger than life half alien half man-mountain. Following his recent hiatus from active duty on the streets of Paragon due to injuries sustained from Rogue Knights attacking the The Paragon Knights HQ, Khytin couldn't sit idly by knowing the Rikti were due to invade.
When the Rikti attacked the Crowne Memorial district in King's Row, nearby heroes fought them off damaging one of the Drop Ships. The Drop Ship made a crash course for the Crowne Memorial Hospital, Khytin was seen to leap aboard and force the engines to face another direction and 'steering' it by bending parts of the ship. The metal around the engines ruptured and fell apart releasing the full energy and instantly obliterating all those on board.
A small SG service is due to be held in Bloody Bay, a common 'playground' for Khytin and seems fitting for him to rest there. -
I've had a native american toon since Villains went in!
I changed the face scales a bit to help give him a more native look, along with wrap, mohawk and face paints. The other touch was the battle kilt in all brown as an erstwhile loin cloth!
He's got 4 looks now but 2 of them are native american/red indian looking.
In recent months I've also seen a good girl version too! -

As far as I am concerned ... ANYTHING goes in pvp.

Precisely -
I like the zones we have, there's one for each level band, which is fair.
I'd like to see more real PvP, the battles that there used to be, the ones that roll through a zone. Not the ones we have at the moment, the standard: Meet on Beach. Do not use Travel. Do not use Insps. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200, yawn-fests for the self proclaimed 'uber' duellers.
By all means duel, but by crikey, break it up with some teaming and a few chases that have peeps battling on ledges of rooftops!
Bloody Bay has improved recently having seen a rise in PvP, which I'm glad to see. -
Hey there,
Think I've teamed with you a few times, mainly for badges over the Union channel.
The Paragon Knights have a really good bunch of active players and regular events of all kinds.
Look us up and/or send War Borg an in-game e-mail. -
D'oh! If only you were Union side, we would happily squeeze into our nuthouse!
If you do make the 'swap', look us up.
In the same vein, being a part time Defiant user, I have a couple of toons that need rehoming. As said, I'm only parttime on Defiant but do use it. They'd be happy to offload their salvage for base use and would be grateful of base tp transport system
I don't mind helping out TF's or activities if i'm about either.
Oh and don't forget Robotank, he needs an SG more than I do and I feel like I've hijacked his thread a smidge! -
No real need to herd, it the team likes it & gets on with it then fine.
As a blaster on a team, I'll Nova/LRM said herd and then pick off any stragglers blast wise as would most other AT's.
As a tank, not really a herder myself, quite happy to get the aggro of a mob and start hammering down while my team backs me up as seen fit.
Other tank-like methods I use is to have Taunt close by to pull a mob or enemy off a team mate.
In short, I'd say herding is just another method, sometimes it works, sometimes not. -

Hey...I LIKE the Duel Culture scene going on on Union. It's a nice break from the general gankage and spite I run across while patrolling the PVP zones.
But yeah, good job there War. People who complain about enemies hiding in the base but then do the same thing themselves is a pet peeve of mine. Of course, considering how most of the PVP in warburg happens in SIGHT of the hero's ship....it just tends to happen way more than it should.

Lol, yeah the beach seems to have been taken in as 'the' place to do the fighting.
My SG and a Coalition SG used frequent Warburg and take the fight wherever in the zone, usually ended up on some roof, which led to hilarious falling incidents
I'm not against or impartial to the occasional duel, I quite like them, however, I get peeved at those who demand its their right not to be interupted by others. Tough luck, they want an undisturbed one, there are other places to go. If I get interupted, i shrug and let the fight unfold naturally. No rule says they can't.

Take the fight more inland..... They will come to where the fight is and they have further to run to safety then
[/ QUOTE ]
hehe, I've done a fair bit of pvp so I know to pull back & let them come, (no-one likes a base camper!)
But the cheek of dive-bombing them in their safe zone really tickles me -

There are no rules. Just go to the pvp zone and have fun

Pretty much the point of my post, but hey -
Some more hilarious tales from PvP...
The other day I was in with a friend doing the Shivans another villain team was doing the same, in the back ground there were two villains giving it all the talk adn making requests about how a duel should be fought and that 'the rules' of pvp meant no insps, so y'know the usual...
A set of Shivans later I decided to grab one of my heroes and investigate these claims....
Well, after owning the life out of the 2 villains that had set 'their' rules, i explained:
- how they're claims of heroes shouldn't run to base worked for them too as they ran away from me and hid in the base after I pursued again and again.
- explained that duels were at a zone discretion and promptly set about attacking my target to engage in actual pvp.
- elaborated that insps & the powers chosen by any toon went with the territory, if they can't beat an opponent at face value, re-think their tactics.
The funniest part was during my lesson and stood in a pvp zone engaging in pvp, I was repeatedly asked if I'd actually played pvp..... roflcoptors erupted zone wide.
Happy with my teachings and chuffed that two more self-righteous 'pvp'ers' have been schooled, I strode off into the sunset. -
All my villain toons have something along the lines of "Forms & runs teams, please ask for invite" in their msg box, I've found this helps an awful lot.

War Borg and various squads of The Paragon Knights will defend against the Rikti threat at all costs.
