lol, talk about straying from the path!!!
The Healer Hero.
Well to start this is pretty much gonna be the Defender with Empathy primary.
I speak of my experience of my defender designed solely as a support piece (check his bio, it all makes sense there)
Yeah sure, I've got fully slotted heals on my primary's BUT offence is just as much support as 'repairing the damage', afterall the faster the bad guys fall down the better right?
When my team is holding its own with maybe the odd heal thrown in, I simply can't stand waiting around for when it gets hairy, so my defender goes all offensive whenever the opportunity arises.
His secondaries all have double or triple damage along with some accuracy.
His role is to aid the team however he can thus calling in powers like Recall Friend, hasten, and so on (only lvl 18 so haven't got the full package yet) but is willing to fight when he can and when he should.
As a bonus, I was quite unaware that Elec secondary could drain end when I chose it, I just thought it sounded cool! -
Both games are somewhat quieter since Xmas but my defender has experienced all sorts.
He is designed as a side kick and soloing is a last resort (or to catch up on missions) but some nights i'll use broadcast, request etc to no avail. He's lvl 18 & willing to sk or exemp but no action. Only the other night in Pocket D, I ran round asking for a team yelling healer, buffs and so on but ended up panhandling and propping up the bar!
Yet other days I've had to turn people down coz the Tells (a lot blind) from all levels are going mad! That or ending up on an 8 hero team with 3 Empaths!
On my blaster I know a top AR blaster to team with & we've literally blasted thru some missions, always glad to have her on board!
Similar can be said of my blaster when's soloing, i'll get a tell from one of my trusted SG empaths (maybe they can't find work?) we'll join up, i'll bump my difficulty up, go into suicidal mode and make them work! We have a few laughs on the way and their aid is always welcome.
Is your Empath under using their heals? Get the difficulty bumped up! (or go to the Hollows for a work out)

You can read the hints & tips of earlier posts, i've just picked a few ideas (respecs now in pipeline
)
Combine what suits you, be it 1 or more travel powers
Pro's & Cons
Fly/hover: Great for fighting & manueverability, it's chasing qualities are okay but have they're limits. Any -Fly powers & you better have an ace in your sleeve!
SS: Good for gettin in & getting out. Leaves you grounded from aerial attacks tho, as a controller attacking from here would be okay, i guess (not a controller myself). Sure, you're grounded but on the run you've the manuveurability to zig zag throught the terrain.
SJ: Quite a good all rounder, but depending who you're chasing, it could be difficult to keep your eye on them.
TP: Great for escapes & surprise attacks, even if someone did know which direction you're going in, it could up or down. 2nd you can change direction instantly and moves out of target lock range in no at all. Chasing.... particularly if grounded, is quite hard. You tend to overshoot by distance or should they turn round etc.. With some range you're slightly better off though.
Hope that helps! -
I was considering tough & weave myself for my blaster. The views here have me convinced to pass it by for now (Munitions, the anciliary set has a bigger, better version anyway but is over lvl 40!).
My advice for now, Aid Self triple slotted with Heals, the timing essential in a fight though (hammer it til it works), tactical withdrawal also good advice.
The Health & Stamina powers are musts, I noticed a complete change on my blaster once these were in.
To stay alive longer, keep greens, blues & a break free stocked up in your insps.
Tactical withdrawalis no bad thing vs DEBT....

I am on Union.
I have Magic salvage coming from ears and always need tech.
It's my hero that needs it.
Let me know -
Hello all,
I have to agree with the first 3 posts in particular. The PvP 'rules' saga has dragged on for ages & 'most' can agree that the zones are for all uses & that each group should respect what the other is doing. BUT go there for yourself & what you intended that day.
I feel like duelling some days, other days I hunt & attack all & sundry! And i will guard my decisions to the hilt.
I NEVER swear, bad mouth someone or spam broadcast with torrents of abuse. Someone makes a point to me, I reply by stating my case. They are then ignored, placed on Ignore and where needed, a petition is sent.
I petitioned an abusive player in PvE, I was told the matter would be dealt with & that I would not hear the outcome..... I'm happy too say I've not seen him since
Cliquey duelling in PvP is rife at the moment I'm sad to say, it IS spoiling it for the experience of others (just see the boards), I 'm happy to have it in the zones, just find somewhere quiet and DON'T get narked because someone else wants to fight however they please. But in Warburg of all zones!!!! I'm astounded, that's absolutely ridiculous.
All are invited to join me, (should the need arise) in hunting the rude heroes/villains to the ends of the Earth. I have no problem dying 50 times in 2 minutes. I just keep coming backI could get put off by the attitudes there at the moment but there are those that make it worth turning up! We comlpiment the others on a funny or a good kill and laugh about it later. The answer for us lot? Manners, simple as that.
I have fun in PvP, I'd like others to enjoy it too. -
I feel the same about this mythical blaster power and in my experience as a blaster?
Defiance is a good idea on paper, but that's where it ends. I've now got a fairly decent blaster, but he's still a blaster. As stated earlier, some Red bosses casually take a swipe and BOOM, 1/2 a bar gone, if they go again or have help you're dead before Defiance even thinks of kicking in.
To my knowledge, Defiance has not swung a fight in such a way that I've noticed.
Like other blasters, if you're that low on hp and you've pounded your insp's/health buttons to extinction, any sane blaster knows running is their next (& last) option.
My blaster is decent enough to solo for a good long while, debt free, but every so often there'll be one boss who I just can't get to stay wounded long enough to finish him off!
Maybe if they tied in some defence bonus like a mini- MoG, or it kicks in sooner like Fury does on Brutes? -
Thank you confess. I agree.
I play as heroes & villains PvP and so I am aware of the odds, powers & balance (at least to some degree), this is how I see it:
Rd 1. CoV launched. Stalkers AS = Massacre
Wounded heroes stagger out & rally their thoughts
Rd.2 Heroes find that Tactics come in handy & maybe team up.
This time, a few Stalkers clutch their wounds and think to themselves we need a new plan now.
I have a Blaster, I solo or team in PvP and whatever happens, happens.
I also have a regen Stalker and I solo or team in PvP. These are choices my choices. I'll solo in BB with my stalker and 'stalk' if I can't find a team in the CoV environments, its fun.
The heroes have come back with a plan and now its the Stalkers turn again.
No nerfs. No bugs. No specific builds. -
Has anybody else's SG badge meter stopped moving?
We've been healing like mad, to no avail. My SG has been told that the QA team is looking into it.
We want more in our Med Bay!
Any further info would be handy, cheers -
Hey there,
Just bought me an SG mission computer as you probably know there is only the option for the CoP trial.
On CoV SG mission computer they have a 2nd option involving Silver Mantis. Is there gonna be anymore options forus heroes?
