So why the complaining now? Why not when it was first introduced years ago? Or is it easier and more satisfying to complain about it now to make it seem like the Developers are trying to "steal" as much money of us they can with the new marketplace?
*yawn*
*laugh*
Get over it. They charge for the service, end of story. The fault isn't theirs that you can't name or type your character properly or suddenly have a change of heart. -
This discussion again? Ok.
Everything you do requires data. Your character data, bios, costumes, power choices, blah blah blah. It all requires data and data requires storage.
Data storage is expensive. Believe it or not, it is. I have family members that do data warehousing for companies. It's not simple. My mother, at 62, is up at 5AM every day to make sure the databases have updated correctly and haven't been corrupted.
So, changing your character's name isn't some willy nilly attempt to steal your money. It's a fee for a service.
Seriously, if your attitude is that the developers are vampires trying to suck away all the money in your wallet you should really find another game to play - one where you're not distrustful and paranoidGood luck with that.

Yay blast of water!

Quote:One can only hope they'll make some sort of purpose out OriginsI don't think we'll ever see pools restricted by your origin.
The upcoming Sorcery pool will likely be available to everyone regardless of origin... especially since it's most likely a purchased power pool. -
It would be interesting to see Origin specific pool powers (relegated, of course, to the Origin you chose.)

Quote:Did you take the blue pill?Got these on the live server.
This happened just after starting a TPN. Crashing at the start of iTirals is common for me but I haven't seen these before thought I mention it due to the message saying customers shouldn't see it.
Otherwise, I have no idea. Some possible random error message. -
Definitely a "One-Shot" story where the heroes literally find themselves IN the movie. As a part of some inter galactic test before the next Doomsday event in which heroes and villains must vomitoriously work together for a common goal.

VIP - Premium - & Free players are PLAYERS regardless of how they pay (or don't.)
So flagging players as "free" is totally unnecessary. -

Uh, crap, how do I get rid of a poll?
Note to self: Stop fiddling around with things -
So with Water Blast we are getting a few water based powers that do... fire damage. I get that steam can burn - but it burns by heat, not by fire.
Sorry, it just seems silly and illogical to have a "water" power do "fire" damage. Would it be too hard (coding wise) to rebrand fire damage as heat damage?
Saying water does fire damage is sort of like saying you stabbed someone with a ball. -
The Star/Note system is highly individual to each player - I use the star system entirely different than anyone else would - every time I team with someone I give them a star a leave a note of when we teamed and which toon I was on. Every time we team again they get another star.

And to add to this: The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
I should know - I placed every brick. Now you can all go to Hell faster! -
Must we identify free players? Why can't they just be "players," like everyone else? Do we really need to put a marker on them and make it obvious that they are not VIP? Why not just... ask?
-
Last summer, somewhere, I had suggested the idea of having New/Free accounts be marked by having a small gold ring around at the base of their character - but it was wisely brought up the amount of griefing that that would lead to.
It's best that New/Free accounts not be "marked" in some way.
Best way to find out if someone is playing on a free account? Ask. -
-
Broadcasting "You can get free Paragon Points by typing "/up 1" " is also a foolproof way to identify free players.

Quote:You must not Beta much since it's been this way for the last few setsIn the beta in the past, I have seen the locked-but-purchaseable sets show up during character creation, they just had the little Store icon/link on them and couldn't be selected, only viewed.
They don't show up in the power set selection screen as locked - you have to buy them off the market first (for 0pp) and then they show up in the character creation screen.

Yes, yellow water blast.

Wait... a water power that does fire damage?
Should fire damage be renamed to heat damage?
