Well yes I do love it! But I guess it's what you get when you tell the artist that the concept "was in part inspired by the character Red Monika".

That being said, as healthy as she may look in that second picture, the eyes are probably her best feature. They're just amazing.

Everybody was doing it, so I decided to give it a shot too.

After commissioning Jomaro Kindred (a.k.a. Gill Bates) some time ago, I decided to ask another great artist for a few pieces of his own. Reiq's style is widely different and while Jomaro is working on a heroic piece, I asked Reiq to take a look at the roots of the character.

You see, Veldt was originally designed as a homage character to the Bad Girls of Iron/Modern Age comics. Much like Lobo (from Lobo) or Red Monika (from Battle Chasers), she was very much a exaggeration of the whole genre. Over time, thanks to RP, the character evolved into something more realistic, but I felt it would be appropriate to have a few pieces to remind me of what the character is and what the character was.

So here goes.

The board friendly, politically correct piece.

Yes of course. In theorie.

The truth is that it's not exactly true. Some power sets need to be reworked. Some AT specific Inherent power need to be completely changed and updated. We all know that. Does it mean its going to happen? Probably not.

Why? Because players, as a whole, are asking for new stuff. New powers, new zones, new missions, new cotumes pieces, new new new!!! Most players are not interested in tweaks and updates. They want more for their money not a better TA set. And since that's what most players want, that's what the Devs are working on, that's what we're going to get with each and every issues.

And that's alright. Satisfied paying customers is what NCSoft is looking for. We are few, they are many. We may hate them, but they, not us, are what's keeping this game going.

We all know one. An annoying, pernicious little thing, literate and obnoxious, the bane of every roleplayer: the Infernal Quoter!

He's the guy who's going to quote everything from Star Wars to the Godfather. Over and over and over again. So much that you often start to wonder if he's actually human and not some kind of weird parrot.

At one point I wanted to create a character on this very concept, the Quotemaster or something. I didn't... fortunately. Too much of a villain. Now with CoV out I'm starting to think such a monster could have a place in the Rogue Isles.

Anyway...

That being said, quotes can be fun. Within reason. Had I taken notes I'm sure I'd have a few sheets full of quotes from things heard and said while playing. Got any? Here's a few I can remember without having to dig too deep:

"Debt before dishonor!" - Classic Scrapper quote.
"What the hell happened?" - Adventurous lvl 16 flying Blaster snipped to death over Founder's Fall.
"There's not enough good chinese restaurants in Paragon City. It's odd considering all the cat girls running around." - Unnamed Tanker roleplaying.

Okay. I'll have to be patient. Then again, I know it's worth it!

One more vote for extra flight speed.

I don't mind leaving Hover as it is. You're hovering, not flying. Pre-ED, some people were six-slotting Hover to fly around, bypassing the need to take Fly as a travel power. That wasn't right.

That being said, an extra speed boost on fly would be appropriate. That and the possibility to use Super Speed with Fly for those speed freaks out there.
