I'm in pretty much the same boat you're in, except hero side. These are things I've done to make more room for salvage.
1. Wentworths - If you have 10 of any kind of salvage, store that at Wentworths. It will only take up 1 slot. My main is level 50 and has 18 storage slots at WWs, and can feasably store 180 pieces of salvage.
2. Vanguard Reward merits - a couple of mothership raids, or however you get them, 500 merits will allow you to purchase a "bag" that will hold 10 pieces of salvage. This does not expire, so if you're not a badge/invention freak, you'll go from 50 pieces (at level 50) to 60. Check badge-hunters website, and you can look up the badges that grant extra storage space for recipes and/or salvage.
3. Enhancement storage bins - these babies can hold 100 enhancements. You're by yourself - no one can steal them. Use your salvage, craft enhancements and store them there. Craft anything you're likely to use - IO damage from level 10 through 50, Accuracies, recharges, end reductions, enhance heals, that sort of thing. Next thing you know, you'll need to stop crafting because you're about out of salvage.
4 Wentworth's - again - look at your salvage. See what recipes use those pieces. Sell any salvage you have more than 20 of. If you need these later, you should be able to bid for them at 100 to 500 inf each (villain side may be pricier, I've no idea.)
The more characters you play, the more enhancements that are needed - but you only play one character at a time (as a rule), so you're earning/finding salvage at the same rate. You will run short, earn more, craft, slot a character, run short, play and earn more salvage, craft, store or slot a character, etc.
It's just what I do, maybe it will help you. -
Truly, an admirable reason to miss play time. Folks, that's heroism in real life.
God bless you. -
I hope mom will still play and let me have more Jell-O pudding pops.
Godspeed, Steele. -

I have been playing primarily on Liberty, but I do enjoy the teams I've had on Infinity, in the past and recently. As I'm out of slots on Liberty, I'm going to be spending more time here. -
Well, I'd never even known of such a thing. I bought it, and be advised - you can only use it once every two hours on the same toon. I wish I'd read the fine print, although I'm not sure there was any to read. Very disappointed in this ridiculously long recharge time.
But, between base tp, mission tp, teleports in the base, Ourobouros and the trains and the ferry's, I'm spending far less time traveling than in years past.
Just wanted to let any future buyers be aware of the once every 2 hour recharge time. -
I'm lazy, ignorant, and many other less than savory labels. Tonight, I took my little fire blaster (level 44) into an AE mission and there were two allys, and one EB and one regular boss.
The EB and the boss were fun, nothing like I'm used to facing in game - except for PvP, maybe.
My question, based on my ignorance, as I've yet to create a mission. The ally - one of them was wonderful - some crazy mix of empath and scrapper. The other was a slow, scared and apparently near-sighted plant controller. It could have been my unfamiliarity with the plant controller primary, but why does one ally hang so far back - and the other be...aggressive? I'm just curious. (I expect to start work on my own arc once I get my main caught up after my lengthy absence.)
Are these differences by design ? Or rather, could they be? -
Earlier today, I dusted off my very unused fire/fire tank. I hadn't played him since the nerf to burn, which if I recall correctly was issue 4. maybe 5 or 6. I can't recall, and that's not what I'm wondering about.
True, back in those days, I did run Drecks over and over again - for the influence, mainly. I was playing several toons and back then, as soon as you started to buy SOs, you went broke pretty fast. If you saw the tailor at all, you went broke even faster.
Today, I finally got a hold of #6 of a set of purple recipes. So, I needed some of that rare salvage. I thought - hey, AE missions generate tickets which I can use to get that rare salvage - not random drops, but specific salvage.
Not being terribly familiar with AE (I've returned after 3 and 1/2 years), I asked on this MA cross server channel if the tickets generated varied with mission difficulty. (if I'm set to 1/1, does that give the same # of tickets as 1/2 or 2/1 or 1/8 or -1/5 )
My question was answered, and then I got a tell that suggested I could be banned from that channel for farming. Now, we reap what we sow. A farming principle, to be sure. But, I'm curious if running the same AE mission (not one I created) over and over because my character has few challenges with it - is that farming?
I was also told that the devs would delete said arc if they knew about it. I certainly doubt this, as the devs know about farming and seem to condone it. Why else would they set it up for us to do over and over again. When I go back to the computer after the arc is done, the same one shows up for me to select. I wonder why.
I bring this to this section of the forum because this is where the folks who probably play AE the most are likely to come across it.
Is this farming, what I'm doing? If so, why is it wrong? I can see if I were a roleplayer, and wanting my toon to make his own way in the world, but I'm not one of those players- at least not with my main. I do have some alts that start broke and work the market to make their way.
I just wanted to know if what I was doing, solo - with no extra account being PL'd or anything, would be a problem for anyone.
Maybe someone could explain it to me, because I don't wish to offend anyone.
Thanks. -
Not sure if I can get in on time for MSR - but count me in for Lady Grey
-
I've dinged 41 and 7 bars in on my way to 42, and haven't trained 41 yet, as I can't decide what's best for my fire/fire blaster.
Defense - the Frozen armor is defense based.
The other pools offer resistance.
Body Armor doesn't cost any endurance and is available earlier than the others.
What's recommended - and why?
Thanks for your time! -
I'm a good bit biased, as I have two ice/ice/ice blasters at level 50, one I've logged in over 3500 hours on - in 24 months of play.
I am working on a fire/fire (he just dinged 41, and my toon is in front of trainer about to choose epic pool. )
Now, I think after playing several other blaster types - Energy/Energy, Elec/Elec
I think the Fire/Ice/Ice might be the way to go. I am going to try it myself.
Oh, the Fire special effects, colors, etc are much more "cool" to see, in my opinion. -
I just wanted to tell all the defenders that play this game that they deserve a pat on the back. I rolled my second toon, a emp/elec defender about 5 years ago. Leveled him to 50,(my first) and it was fun and frustrating and a host of other things.
I rolled another toon, another, etc.
I dusted my defender off, transferred him to the server that I call home. Then I teamed up in a pick up group, and was in for a lot of finger mashing! Managed to get a few shots in, in between buffs and heals.
But, folks, it was tough! No rest between battles, no chances for me to eat cookies, like when I'm playing my blaster or scrapper.
My hats off you you folks, for protecting and serving the other heroes.
Good work! Me? I need a break. -
Quote:Sir,It's not worth it, trust me. I'm not a bad guy I just find this over the top goody two shoes stuff sickening.
It's too Barney. It's all about rainbows and sunshine.
Together united individually unique or whatever the tag line is. It's just too mushy. Stop it! Stop it right now! Sisterhoodandfriendsmyballs!
Do something shocking, drop the c bomb. Kick a kitten. Call in sick to work when you're not really sick. Be bad.
I've been bad. It's over-rated, and the energy it took could have been much better used.
Being bad is the easy thing to do. Try being encouraging. That's a challenge. Try seeing the value in people behind a character, even though that character has powers it shouldn't have for the maximum effect, and seems to be played by a child who has dyslexia or a grown up with a very bad typing problem.
Anybody can be bad. Try to be good. It's more of a challenge. -
As stated above, it's likely gladiator matches. My blaster has the empath badge and has never had any healing power.
-
Just wanted to put my stamp of approval on beefcakes efforts!
Things are working very well on the site. Verifying badges is now simple, and takes hardly any time at all. If any of you are badgers, and use his site, if you can afford it, send him some loot. Looks like he put an awful lot of time into things.
God bless you, beefcake/daywalker -
I just wanted to thank the server as a whole for helping me have a very fun day!
I've been playing a blaster, more often than not since I started playing this game. My main has more hours on patrol than the 9 other 50's combined. I stopped playing just about the time PvP was getting popular, if you could call it that - right after issue 6, I think it was. September '06 was my departure date.
One of the Sisterhood folks logged off their scrapper and took the time to show my fire blaster and a few other blasters a nifty little thing called Jousting. Old hat to most of you, I'm sure. I'd heard the term before; I'd thought it was one of those temp powers or one of the bonus packs they were discussing.
The last time I'd played a blaster with a "nuke" that couldn't be targeted like Blizzard was before they put a cap on taunt. So, I could always jump right in and go kaboom and be safe, as the tank would maintain aggro. (Well, Everything Nice would maintain aggro - not every tank was as dilligent as he.)
Tonight, someone stopped what they were doing, and showed me something. Took care to be sure I understood it. I don't think that's a typical thing, so I wanted to mention it. Thanks to the Sisterhood and the rest of Liberty. Got Sister Psyche done today with a pretty darn nice team. A shame we had that odd map-serve- d/c thing happen.
Gained about a billion tickets doing some AE missions too.
A very productive day on Liberty. Thanks! -
On the topic of IO sets - I'm quite certain it's been covered somewhere, but if you decide to get the IO sets, try to compare the bonuses with different sets.
Let's say that I've got a fire blaster and a fire tank.
Both have Fire Sword Circle, which is PBAoE Melee.
Does the tank need mez protection? as a rule, no. So why would the tank go with a set that provided some status protection? Ordinarily, a tank probably would not go for that set - unless the other bonuses were hard to pass up. Increasing attack rate by 9% of ALL powers seems pretty nice to me. But, if you keep looking, you might find a set that provides 7% increase in recharge speed, and a 5% increase in accuracy/to-hit of all powers.
So, without getting in too deep, just remember to think ahead and try to get a feel for which IO recipes/enhancements that you'd like that will fit your character. -
In the middle left of each of your screen shots, there is a list of percentages. Let me reveal my ignorance - I know that IO's can provide those increases - but how do I get that list to display?
-
Well put, both of you!
I shared some oreos and chocolate milk with my father today. He was always reaching over and telling me that the cookie I was going to eat was defective, and would have to take it from me for my own good.
May God bless all of the fathers and their families. -
Some of you have taken some time to present detailed information. For that, I thank you.
I used to go with the free AVG, but for some reason, I was thinking that the free version is probably scaled down, and likely not to be very good. We get what we pay for, I would say.
Thanks. -
My antivirus subscription is about to run out; I wasn't too happy with the one I had. (Don't want to start any trouble for them) I'm just wondering if anyone can recommend one that doesn't try to update or download whenever IT sees fit, or otherwise interrupt my gaming experience.
Thanks. -
I can't say if it has been fixed, as there was not enough interest to start it.
On a side note, I would like to thank the folks who keep the Sisterhood and LB channels running. I honestly think that there would be a great deal less teaming without them. Any people who did come out, came out as a result of using those channels.
(I kind of think they're redundant, seems like all the same people to me, but I'm older and don't recall things the way I used to. )
Again, thanks to LB and Sisterhood SG. -
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but I just got off work, I'm tired and don't feel like filtering through what may be years of stuff to see if it has. (I've been gone for awhile, been back a month.)
If it has, it obviously hasn't been implemented.
A thing to work for, I believe, would be to be able to buy or bid on salvage from within the SG base. It's a real time drain to try and craft IOs and because you only have so much room to stash the salvage, you spend an hour going back and forth, back and forth. The load times to enter and exit the base seem long to me.
It would be nice if, as I'm crafting, I were able to purchase 2 more runebound armor to complete the recipe. Maybe a veterans reward, or an item to be purchased like telepad could be how it would be introduced.
Yes, I think Wentworth's is an interesting idea for CoX. I understand alot of folks disagree with the change in the economy, or rather the way those with loads of influence/infamy can artificially inflate the value of things. But, wonderful readers, that is an entirely different thread than this.
Have a pleasant evening, I'm going to play!(the game) -
Just in case you choose to make time for it --
If anyone cares to do the LGTF, I'm going to try and get it started this evening, June 15 at 8:00 pm Central time.
I've never done it before, but I think I might take a moment and read a guide or two and more than likely rely on some purple recipe hunters to help me out.
