Hm, I must not have the recharge to run that then or something because I've had to use bolt twice... Granted my PB's build isn't even totally done yet so there could be other factors too.

As to the question at hand, I can tell you an estimate I calculated for some of my personal builds from a while ago, though I don't have access to my personal computer so this will be off memory. The pb maxed out around 220 dps. The WS has tons of variables, but at no pets and just one target for sunless mire, I think it was around ~180 dps(?) As you add pets the damage goes up a lot, obviously, but the pet dps is a guesstimate as well.

Edit: oh and my testing of orbiting death w/ reactive says that mids gives it too much damage.
I'm getting 181.7 w/the Mids' assessment of Orbiting Death and 1 Mire target, so it sounds like your experience is that it was 1.7 lower in game? I also don't know if my slotting is exactly the same as yours.

    Anyways 11.25% of 181.7 is ~20.44

20.44x10=204.4 (11.25% damage increase per target)

So unless I did this wrong, the DPS w/ a fully saturated Mire should be 181.7+204.4=386.1 but that seems high to me? Maybe it's right though. I'm an english major. :s

edit: I just realized I had a Mire target baked into the original number so 386.1 minus 20.44 would give me 365.66 which still seems high.

I dunno how you plan to figure it out with mire and inner light since the numbers change but the chains are r strike>bolt>blast>bolt and g well>eye>s blast>eye

You just add the damage of all the attacks in a chain together, add the cast times together, and divide the first by the second for DPS.

For Mire, you get an 11.25% damage buff per target (10 max) so you could try to figure that out.

Don't forget Orbiting Death is adding 84.23 damage every 2 seconds so that adds 42.115 also.

I'm not sure if anyone has figured out a good estimate for fluffy DPS so that's something else to take into account.

As for the PB numbers, Inner Light is gonna be tricky since it adds a bigger buff at first and then decays. I'm pretty sure that's going to be on a per-build basis since the faster it recharges the more often you'll be getting a bigger damage buff. I feel like that'd be way more annoying to calculate.
  6. Seems like I did an alright job, then... Preemptive budget constraints considered?

  8. The "Dark Armor is ugly" problem is a big personal gripe also, especially since I was lured into DA in the first place because I (logically?) assumed that it would at least attempt to be as cool-looking as Warshade graphics.

    Yeah, no. not at all.

Instead of looking like I'm engulfed in negative energy, I just look like I've been rolling around in a pile of dirt, the color to my choosing of course-for the last two hours.

Bottom line: Dark Armor is ugly as hell. If you're willing to work with that, or turn all of your effects to minimal, you'll notice that it's a really awesome and solid set. If, however, you want to play a very powerful negative energy creature that looks as impressive as its' performance, make a Warshade.
  9. No bites so far- I just wanted to post again to clarify that my priority is really getting my hands on a level 53 Nucleolus Exposure. Once again- I can pay your price, so I hope that isn't a concern to potential sellers. If you have one you're willing to part with, or know someone who might, send me a PM or a tell in game: @Septipheran

    Warshade Build

Yea my build is human form only but it takes dwarf for the set mules.

edit: I didn't have too much time but I assumed his Eclipse was perma w/ spiritual core paragon. If not, definitely wanna take care of that.

    Warshade Build

Only looking at the second build posted.. I don't have much time so I'll just run down a few things.

-The 4 pieces of expedient reinforcement to put into EE are acc/dam, acc/rech, acc/dam/rech, and end/dam/rech. The last 2 slots should go to SA: dam/rech and SA: chance for build up. You'll get a better regen bonus than that 5th ER was giving you and much better enhancement values to match.

-Your endurance use is kinda high and your recovery isn't good enough to offset it against nothing but a few hard targets-

Long story short, you'll be sucking wind and doing everything you can to get a blue inspiration, waiting for waves of adds like they're life support at the end of the ITF. Your endurance won't sustain your toggles and your attack chain, and that's bad.

-Why did you build your s/l defense 5% past the softcap? I would never recommend doing that, especially considering how low your recharge is as a result (and the aforementioned recovery issue.)

-You'll want Shadow Blast WAY earlier in your career, it's one of your 2 bread and butter attacks along with g well. You'll also want to get way better damage enhancement out of both of those attacks... I slot S Blast with Apocalypse and G Well with Hecatomb.

One of my previous specs for my human form Warshade took and used Provoke very often. I could also see it being useful for a human form Peacebringer, and maybe even some defenders (though, good luck finding room for it.)
  15. So, I just remembered that I'm going to be going down to the city from Saturday morning to Monday afternoon, which means I won't be able to lead a Mo run this Saturday. Sorry about the inconvenience, I've had these plans for over a month now so I can't change them. Next weekend is back to the schedule, though.

This seems to be an appropriate time for me to say "re: pissing contest." Taking a pragmatic approach as you've done with the rest of your post, it's pretty clear-cut-simple to assess the optimal attack chain for a Warshade. I feel like the entire point of this thread was to prove that your Shade's dwarf form is somehow magically putting out superior DPS compared to an optimized human form attack chain.

You decided to start several threads after I started one to highlight an accomplishment I was just personally pretty proud of, which was soloing a level 53 AV. I am content with that- I've told you this already but I haven't even tried at 54. I've managed to put a pretty nice dent in Scrappy, just for fun, without using any pets but the environment wasn't ideal.

This brings me back to my original point, though- I sort of feel like you're going out of your way to prove some 'superiority' which strikes me as kind of obsessive.

I post one thread for the sake of highlighting a personal accomplishment, so you proceed to post three more, for what purpose? To show that you can solo a GM with Lore pets, and that you had the patience to pound a level 54 AV down in Dwarf form? I'm not saying that your Warshade isn't awesome, you already know I think he is. I play with you once a week, used to play with you at least 3 times a week, and you're probably one of my best friends in COH.

None of this change the fact that an optimized human form build puts out more single target damage than tri form, though. Look at the numbers in mids if you don't believe me... I'd be glad to email you my current build again. It's just a silly thing to try to subtly argue as you seem to be doing with these threads... Just like I would never claim that my Human Form build has more AoE potential than your shade does. The numbers don't lie.

The OP said he had 1.5 to work with, which is definitely enough to start leaving at least a few lowish bids on purples and reselling them for 50-100 million profit each once they fill (usually doesn't take long.)

That seems like a way better investment of time to me than hoping for a lucky drop- This tends to be a 'sure thing' that only takes about 30 seconds of your time, provided you have the patience for it. The longer you flip for, the more funds you have to work with, and the more you can make per day. It just takes time.

  19. So you've tackled monsters and AV's? Farmed on +4x8 without batting an eyelash? It must be time to go play the game.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely think it's awesome to maximize character performance, but that shouldn't leave anyone in a "now what?" position. There's lots of new low-mid level content to do, for example. All new blue and redside arcs, First Ward, and of course the SSA's.

If you're interested in stories and/or exploring the revamped/new zones, this is a great time to do that. It'll also give you an opportunity to play sets or combinations you've been curious about, just for the fun of it.

I'm a big fan of getting the most out of my favorite characters, which leads to me being a sort of anti-altoholic, but that's not to say that there's anything wrong with trying new things 'for the heck of it.' This game has tons of content and potential for variety- There's nothing wrong with dipping your toes into things you haven't experienced yet.
  20. Man, Pete loves flexin' those muscles for the camera.
  21. I know someone recently posted a thread about this, but I have different build goals so I figured I might as well start a fresh one. First, this is for a planned alt- I don't have any real experience (beyond level 20) playing Illusion, but I've played Cold almost-to-50 on a Defender.

All that being said, My goals were pretty straightforward for this build- Priority #1 was Perma PA and Perma Heat Loss... Both of which I was able to achieve with the help of t4 Spiritual Alpha.

Personal survivability was taken into account; PA is a great aggro soaker, but I still wanted to weave some defense and good resists (at least to s/l) into the build as a fail-safe. I didn't place any particular emphasis on any type/position for defense, but honestly I don't think it should be necessary. I've managed ~20% across the board with 63% s/l resistance. At least if attackers manage to hit me, they won't be hitting for too much in most cases.

This is just a theoretical alt as of now, so I didn't want to plan exorbitantly budget wise. This build is something that I can pay for all in one shot and not miss the money, so try to keep that in mind when giving feedback; I have no interest in spending more than loose change on this potential character.

  24. Meh, the only thing that makes me not want to play my DA Brute is the graphic effects. It's a perfectly fine and more-than functional set, but man I hate looking like I just got done rolling around in a pile of dirt.

I colored everything purple because the character was supposed to have some correlation to my Warshade (which I won't go into) and the effects just look way to dumb. I know someone who plays their /DA as Sand and honestly it looks more like sand than any cool netherworld infusion. If the effects were at least "as cool" as Warshade effects, that alone would make me enthusiastic enough to dump lots of time and inf into my DA Brute.

Mechanically speaking, I have no issues whatsoever with the set; Though I can agree with the OP's point that the heal from Dark Regen might be excessive most of the time, I don't feel like this is a viable suggestion as the scale of the heal (iirc) is on a per-target basis, so when it comes to the end game you're going to want the most 'bang for your buck' against a single target.

It's pretty easy to build up reasonable recovery on DA so I don't really see any reason to reduce the endurance cost of Dark Regen- You shouldn't be using it frequently enough for it to negatively impact your end bar anyways. DA has great survivability and mitigation.
  25. I have 5 level 35 Kinetic Combat sets I'm looking to trade for the same pieces as level 20. All of the sets are missing the tri (Dam/End/Rech.) I use them as strictly set mules so I'd like to have them when exemping but I know some people slot them in used attacks and want to get the highest enhancement values so I think a trade would be fair.

I'm also looking to buy a level 53 Nucleolus Exposure. I got 1/2 for my main's build and I have had no luck at all finding the second. I'll pay what you ask.

Contact me via PM/respond to this thread or send me a tell in game (@Septipheran)

I do face to face trades only- I am on Protector but I have alts on Virtue and Exalted.
