Well, it's been a while but I have two new pencil drawings from the Hero Dawn SG. I decided to go with other player toons as I'm already working on my True Strike vs picture and the number of HD characters submissions are building up. I apologize to anyone following my work for the long gap between posts. With nicer weather on the horizon I've been spending less time at home which has put a serious delay on all of my art projects.
Here are the HD character pencils for this week!

2. R3D JAK -
Quote:I asked myself the same thing after looking over his screen shots. The in game costume has grayish skin and the bone mandible costume piece underneath the roman helm. So he does seem to have a zombie inspired look at the very least. The player didn't have a background or anything else to go on so I based his look off the name and what I saw in the screen shot. I figured keeping him in between zombie and generic monster would be my best bet for nailing the players original concept.
Is he some form of undead? The body is fleshed out and there are eyes in the sockets but the teeth are visible with no lips... he doesn't look to be a zombie as he isn't rotting or missing any chunks. Well it's a cool look either way.
It's hard for me to say which of these I actually like best so far. Burnme was a lot of fun to do, but I also like how expressive Hopping Hottie's pic is. Add to that Witchburner's over all costume design and I guess you have my top 3. =) I get to do one of my characters for this weeks HD pencils (which I'll probably start tonight) so that should be a lot of fun to! -
So.. I've started plotting a single page layout of an action scene using my Scrapper True-Strike fighting Black Scorpion. Right now I'm still undecided if I want to do a full color page in Photoshop or not cuz I think I'm horrible at it. But in either case I'll be sure to post the line work when I have it done.
Here are my new Hero dawn pencil drawings for this week, enjoy!

Quote:Thanks and I totally agree about the Freakshow mob. The original sketch work had a Tank Boss in the mix but as time continued to rack up on the project I just wanted to get it done so the Freaks ended up with a little less detail and no Boss. =(My first impression of the wallpaper though was that the heroes look awesome but the Freakshow look a bit childish.
You know really young and fresh-faced rather than looking like gritty and tough street gangers.
Overall some very nice additions to your gallery though, keep up the good work.
I find that I'm easily distracted on these large color projects and eventually end up hating them cuz they take up so much time. But I'll never get any better with a tablet if I stop or avoid doing them so... -
Here are two brand new pencil drawings that I did over the weekend for the Hero Dawn SG on Virtue.

Hopping Hottie -
So.. I was up really late last weekend and after watching an episode of Bleach (thanks to my friend for sticking me with yet another MASSIVE cartoon!) and samurai 7, I jumped into Photoshop. My original intent was to chip away at a few projects I've had on the go but it turned out that my sleepy anime drenched brain had other plans. Thus the Chibi Warshade was born!
I wasn't going to post this but after getting a few laughs and positive feed back from friends I've decided to share it with everyone here.
I've also recently completed a CoH wallpaper for the Hero Dawn SG and posted it in my gallery. HERE is a link to check it out! -
Thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback and enthusiasm! I know it's been a while since I've posted anything but here are some fresh gallery links that will hopefully make up for the absence. This set of eight character drawings were made for the Grey Enterprises SG on Virtue.
1. Faenya
2. Bitter Sweet
3. Nefret Oakleaf
4. Hereon
5. Jaccob Shaw
6. BGSmalls
7. Tamarilla Grey
8. Valara Conahey -
Here's my latest addition to the gallery. I was originally going to hold off on posting this until I had a few pieces I could put together but the other projects I'm working on are still far from complete. This is a 1024x768 wallpaper of Clerica, my Empathy/Illusion Controller on Virtue. The only reference material I had for this was a screen shot I took of Founders Falls which I used to draw the background. Clerica was pretty much done from memory with little or no rough work before hand. As a result I'm not all that pleased with how she turned out but the whole thing in general isn't that bad...

Here's a link to my fan art post made in the Virtue server forum. I play almost exclusively on Virtue so posting there seemed like a good place to start. But any future images/posts will continue in this thread.
This is the full size Avatar image I made of my (Dark/Ice) Defender.

Here's one from my own collection, a simple wallpaper of my Stalker Hudo Voodoo.

Cool thanks, I'll probably do that. I felt posting here would be a good start as I play on Virtue and the characters I've drawn so far all come from there.

First off I'd like to take a moment to explain a little about myself and my art... Hopefully I don't bore anyone to death, but I find that understanding the artist helps to understand their work.
If you consider scribbled crayon over the walls of your bed room an art form, then I've been drawing for a very long time. Since those early days I've found expression through several mediums and really enjoyed oil painting throughout high school. At that time Salvador Dali was a massive inspiration and surrealism was a strong influence in nearly all of my art work. Both before and after my "classical painter phase" I branched off into other forms and became interested in comic books. Artists like Micheal Turner and Joe Madureira have had a serious impact on my drawing style and are truly my inspiration for comic art. Another strong influence in my work is anime... some hate it, but I love it! The combination of these elements are what I consider the corner stones to my artistic style.
Over this past year I've gone out and picked up a Wacom drawing tablet, joined DeviantART.com and started a gallery. There's not a whole lot to view but I have some alright stuff related to City of Heroes I thought should be brought to the community. So without any more babbling on my part, here are few pics I'd like to share.

Seems like they've been taking a few pointers from Warcraft.. Don't get me wrong, Bioware are the GODS of RPGs and I love everything they do but the voice over and dark tone of the trailer reminded me of "that other game".
Still awesome, and I can't wait to sink my teeth into some game play! -

Solution: Put in AE buildings! o.o!
[/ QUOTE ]
This sums up my main problem with Atlas since the launch of i14. The broadcast chatter and lag in this zone has become a serious issue for me. I honestly don't see any reason why there needs to be an AE building in EVERY zone...
Considering how popular Atlas is as a starting zone, RP spot. and stage to countless Costume Contests there's more than enough incentive to go there. Being a little more selective in what zones get an AE building would give people a reason to hit less populated areas and lower the strain on hot spots like Atlas and Talos. -
Awesome! If there's anything I might be able to do to help let me know..
*Starts sifting through the costume editor for red leather and a jerry curl* =P -
This was my first stop hopping to find a way to fix my chat binds after i12 effectively destroyed them all. I'm familiar with everything posted here but I have yet to figure out a solution to my problem. What's happened to all my old binds is that instead of just using the code to change the text and chat bubble, the code is now being displayed along with my chat. I've been forced to restore all default binds just to make my characters playable and tech support just gave me a forum link to here... Has anyone else gone through this and come up with a way to fix it?
Here's a few examples of old binds and macros that worked before i12 that I've had to rewrite or restore to default.
/bind Enter beginchat <border #ffcc33><color #ffffff><bgcolor #003366>
/bind F7 "say <border #ffcc33><color #ffffff><bgcolor #003366>Ready!$$emote thumbsup"
/macro TP "say <border #ffcc33><color #ffffff><bgcolor #003366>Recalling $target to my location.$$powexec_name Recall Friend" -
I'd like to see a lot more Chinese weapons in the bladed sets. Having Tiger Hooked Swords, Double Hook Lian, or any other bladed Wushu weapons for the Dual Blade, Katana, and even Broad Sword sets would be awesome.
It would take new animations but I even think that adding a few pole weapons to the Mace, Axe, and Broad Sword sets would be cool.
