I think when my Scrapper is done I will have just under 49% melee and ranged defense, and 27.5% AoE defense, with a lot of other non-positional stuff in the teens. I wasn't aiming for anything over 40-45% on ranged and melee, but this is just the way it came out and I'm pretty happy with it.
When you have this kind of defense, what does Elude actually mean to you?
I know I have read before about people skipping it. I'm Claws/SR so endurance just never seems to be an issue.
In your experiences, does random use of Inspirations seem to cover anything that goes wrong?
Also I plan on getting Aid Self, so I have something for a bit of Oh No moments. -
I just got Electric Fences so it doesn't really have any slotting yet, but at this point I'm not sure it makes much of a difference. Seekers, PT, Provoke (if mobs are not held), Acid, Caltrops, Provoke has been great for some time now.
ATM I am going Seekers, PT, EF, Provoke (if mobs are not held), Acid, Caltrops. Provoke.
I toss in PG here and there, but I really only have it for the Stupefy bonus. -
Thanks again for the tips. You sent me some stuff in game Young, I wasn't sure who it was from, checking back to this thread I guess I know now.
As for prices, my MM has about 280 million right now at almost 42, he is in the process of switching back villain to pick up the PPP. I think he will actually be half way to 43 before I level up since 40. He is pretty much set so he won't need much of that money.
I appreciate you guys explaining in detail the process to get the PPPs. I was aware of it, but I really don't like Redside, even for a few missions. I'm sure the games are in reality the same, but CoV always felt like CoH's unfinished version to me.
Here is what I am thinking about. I think for me this will be good enough, if not once I get max level I'll just have to tune it up.

Quote:But I don't want to be a pirate. Sorry, quick Seinfeld reference. I just really don't like Red side at all.One thing to consider . . . Scrappers who turn to the evil side can get Stalker patron powers. Shadow Meld is a +def clickie. Just saying.
Thanks for all your tips. I'll have to play with it and see what I can do. I have a MM IO'd pretty good, and a Claws/SR the same, both with 8-16 levels to go, but also very high defense where they are at. I may just need to pay attention to the SR again since he is already sitting pretty, I was just kind of missing getting a little wild with my MA. -
Thanks for the information guys. I am in the process of switching, just need to do the tip missions, alignment missions, and arc. Then choose, and switch again. I think I'm about 41.4 at this point, will probably be 42 before I choose my 41 power, wonder if I will be 43 by the time I am blue side again?
-
I am more than a little lost on how to IO slot this guy, plus it has been so long that he is level 35 and has a few million dollars, at that time I left him alone that was a good amount at that level.
Planning on: Boxing, Tough, Focused Accuracy, Laser Beam Eyes, Hasten, Super Speed.
Not planning on: Thunder Kick, Revive, Warrior's Challenge, other travel powers.
Not sure: Weave at 30 (didn't know what else to do), Conserve Power (haven't ever needed something like this on him), Physical Perfection (probably be my 49 power).
This was a double regen build, back when fitness was a choice, so having 3 extra powers now will be a bit odd for me.
I have a Bot MM that is a real cash machine at the moment, but I don't really want to go into hundreds of millions just to get all the crumbs. I just want to make good use of my choices. Also I have the Mids planner, so just feel free to post something to import if that is easiest for you.
Thanks in advance for even taking the time to read. Bless you all for any help. -
I took my MM blue side a while ago, I just hit 41 and I don't like the Hero epics for him, now I have to go back.
If I go back an pick the first power, can I then switch back and keep picking up the others in that set as a hero? -
Quote:I have a Bots/Traps that is just speeding through things. I'll try and give you some insight.Im makeing a pve farming Mm and i wanted to know wat 1 of those 3 would do the best job and need the best farming secondary :3
Please and thankyou
Traps is just awesome all the way around. My first milestone was 10 for Acid Mortar, which means me and my Bots just got better. My second milestone was 16 for FFG, me and my Bots just got a lot harder to take down. My third was Poison Trap, control and survivability went way up. Fourth was Seeker Drones, used right they take the bite out of every group. I am almost 35, so I have no experience with Trip Mines on this character(have a Fire/Dev, but that just isn't the same thing).
Bots I tried a few times and really hated the clanging, now it is music. For this combo defense is a big deal. Once you get to 16, the Protector Bots shields plus FFG already make you feel big time. Getting the second Protector at 24 adds another shield to your little guys and the Protectors give each other a shield. Now when I got the Assault Bot at 26 it really felt like he just about picked me up and threw me to 28, which meant Seeker Drones. Then the 32 upgrade, wow, I repeat, wow.
I would say this combo is strong from 10 on, and goes up to another level every single power. As far as farming? Right now I am 34, seeing groups of 10-12 really means next to nothing. Groups with 2 bosses is a nice fight. With the defenses I have now (I am not IOed out, the only set I have is Blood Mandate in my drones) even AoEs hit so rarely they mean nothing. I am running at +0/+3, I think I could bump it up, but things are going so well/fast I don't see a reason to.
Now I realize drops are not something you can always count on, but at level 34 I have just under 70 million, and after this current arc finishes I think I will have enough merits to get that ever so lovely Luck of the Gambler + recharge. This has by far been my most successful character in the market (period) and in the game (maybe even better than my Tank who grew up in the Issue 4 days). -
I only have 2 Masterminds (Bots and Ninja) and they don't have any original pets like a medic or arsonist. So I have no idea whether they are actually changing names or not. I do wonder if there are some issues with Demons though. Anytime I am around a Demon MM, one of the pets (or maybe several) seems to keep doing some roar, or cry, or howl, or something. I can usually take it for a few minutes, then I have to leave.
-
I actually expect this Fitness change to make a nice difference on my Ninja/Dark who already has Stamina and runs some Leadership powers. My Robotics/Traps doesn't have Stamina and I had no intentions of taking it, I'm just not sure if this will make any difference on him, other than I have more Endurance than I will ever us. I do welcome it though.
-
Stamina becoming an inherent is something I am very much looking forward to.
I took Provoke because I am pretty much always in bodyguard and it doesn't (at least I think it doesn't) cost any end.
I posted my build just so people would know exact what I am using, a lot of the actual IOs being used are just whatever I had drop and felt like making.
I have Leadership on my Ninja/Dark and wow do I know how great it is. I'm just kind of being anti-stamina on this character for some reason, probably because to this point I have done well without it. Usually I play melee characters and not having stamina is a car wreck.
Thanks for the help so far, and Katie V I think when I play tonight I will switch from +1/+2 to +0/+3 and see how that feels and then go from there.
Wow Katie, I just had the most insane mission. In large part it was due to the Longbow character I was trying to save, who in turn agroed every possible group while waves of ambushes were coming. It was pretty awesome though, I am a little shocked at how well the Bots handled all that action, can't wait for 32 now.
Also, after reading my post I think I may have given a wrong impression. Eventually I would like to have defenses capped and I'm looking for things I may need as I get there. I am not expecting to be Uber now, just wanting to pick up things I need as I go. -
To start I want to say this combo is sweet and I love the play style. I am not having problems, just looking to get the most out of what I got. At the moment ph1x3r is level 30 and things are going well. I would like any tips and advice though. I am running missions at +1 level/+2 players and I rarely get in over my head. I am going to post my build.
Things that I am dealing with/pondering:
Is it better to use a higher team setting and not higher level setting? Is there a good way to go about mixing the difficulties?
I have Aid self and just don't use it at all.
Provoke has really made my missions go faster.
I want Hasten since it seems to mix with /Traps so well, so I may need to go SS and ditch the flight pool to fit other things in. Maybe even just have Hasten and use temp travel powers.
I just haven't really needed Stamina, not sure if that will change.
I have read not to slot healing in my Protector Bots since they only heal if they can use their heal in full. Is this true?
I am interested in capping defenses for me and my pets if possible. At the moment I have just under 21 million and I have been keeping a Knockback Protection IO, not sure if I want to sell it or not. I also have 106 merits in case that will get me anything good yet. I also have an Inv/SS tank that can farm quite well, but that kind of bores me.
Thanks for reading and any time you spend on this. I am also wondering about which cool Procs I should be trying to find as I level. Maybe just throw up bids here and there and see if I can score something while my funds are still building.

Quote:As far as my shopping has gone, it is all the levels, not just around 40. I think I got the entire Zinger set for about 2 million (1 million of that was for a salvage piece), but I haven't even tried to buy any of the Reactive sets yet. I'm hoping I can check every week or so and see prices come down at some point.I just a couple of days ago sold a few level 24-25 recipes; they went for ~200k each. Are you only looking at the price of level 40?
I have been making quite a bit of Inf on radio as well as AE missions, but I am still not sure just over 40 million can cover the Reactive sets with current prices. -
I have a 34, maybe 35 Ninja/Dark and a (fresh, as in haven't even used Seeker Drones yet) 28 Robotics/Traps. My experience is really limited to those two, now I prefer my Bots/Traps for a ton of reasons. I will echo Ninjas being a pain to manage at times, but wow can they drop a single target like nothing. They have even shocked me on Elites, kind of like, "that was an Elite Boss right?"
No AV experience on either. -
Looking forward to that, the Assault Bot just about picked me up and threw me to 28. I have Seeker Drones now, but haven't played since leveling. At the moment I am playing +1 level, and +2 players. I had a Council mission that I think had 3-4 purple bosses in it, but I must say the Bots all held up well.
-
Quote:That is a fantastic pun, but I think my limit for how many times I am willing to explain it will be pretty low. I mat switch him to a firewall-ish name, he does like to light things up.I love this pun!
(Explaining it for people who don't get it.) NaCl is the chemical formula for salt. It's a salt bot. Assault bot.
Anyway, I actually like your ph1r3w/\ll. Firewall is a techy term and the bot throws out what almost always looks like a wall of fire.
On a side note, Assault Bot=happy me.
I have a Ninja/Dark, and I must say when I got Oni it was nice to have another pet, but the Assault Bot seems like a whole other level.
On a second side note, the name I gave my Oni is ilikered. It fits him for some reason. -
-
Ok, so I am going to hit 26 pretty much when ever I just commit a night to it. I am simply drawing a blank on naming my Assault Bot.
Character name:
ph1x3r
Battle Drones:
h4x0r
c00l3r
sc4nn3r
Protector Bots:
d3fr4g3r (maybe is should be d3phr4g3r)
cl34n3r
I thought about something like ph1r3w4ll, but I got kind of a "3r" thing going. Thanks for any time you give this, and sorry if you were hoping for a rant thread or something. -
Been through that stuff too. I actually checked that first, it may just be some odd issue I am having since I don't have problems with INV.
-
Where do I find this? I've been going through the in game options and not seeing it.
-
Ok, so it was over 700 days since I last logged on to my MA/Regen. When I logged in and clicked Integration my shiny glowing chest was all gone.
I played around with the character creator and I don't see a way to use that old animation. I am just missing something right in front of me? Am I maybe having an issue on my end and just not seeing the glowy-ness?
Sorry if this is one of those dead horse things. -
My Bots were better behaved in my next mission, but I am getting really tired of chasing. On my Ninja/Dark I knew going into Longbow missions I would always have that headache. I've seen 4 different groups now, and it is like always fighting Longbow with all the runners.
-
Well, after the patch my Bots have done some real odd things. Attacking the next group when I'm on BG mode and haven't tried to get near them. Chasing absolutely anything, and in the only mission I have run so far today it is like 1/3 of every group are runners. I have been trying to do a lot of BG-Passive-BG-Passive.
I'm going to try another mission and hope it was just that mission. However that mission was Council/Family/Sky Raiders and had a Werewolf Boss that probably took 4-5 minutes to kill do to how much it ran around, and I mean like basically running the whole map. -
I can see what you mean there. I have a SR scrapper. He was kind of fun until SOs, then he went beyond fun. I think I may just be impatient though, my Bots/Traps got to 16 in a blink, and now with FFG I am pretty excited to see what he can do.
