The Lichen shows an "invalid target" if the War Walker already has a Lichen applied to it, which could be the cause there!
Also, things to update!
From the start of the trial, all the way to the room before the Self Repairing War Walker, its best for all three teams to act as a single "Kill Team" to clear mobs in the way, this reduces the risk of damage to the teams HP and being effected by status effects.
Lore Pets, Alignment Powers and Accolade powers should, once the Extinction War Walker is defeated, not be used again until the Lichen Infested War Walker is fought, this means we can maximise damage, resistances and so on during this important battle.
Again once the Lichen Infested War Walker is downed, these powers should be allowed to recharge for use against the Avatar of Hamidon.
When badging the Self Repairing/Lichen Infested War Walker, the timer starts when the previous room's guards are defeated. A single enemy can be left alive to allow more preperation time, or orders for an immediate assault can be given during this room clearance to maximise the timer.
The Lichen Infested War Walker, has an independant spawn point of the Self Repairing War Walker, so moving the War Walker when first encountered is not required, but moving it when it respawns Lichen Infested, is helpful!
When dealing with the bomb badge, there are 2 phases. Bombs from the first IDF bomb warning just before the Spore Tunnels can be scrapped down by having the entire raid attack each bomb on the raid leaders signal. However, the bombs just before the Avatar in the final corridoor, need clearning from range due to their mutual proximity.
For the Avatar itself, it seems a Phalanx tactic works well again, with those targeted by the Will of the Earth moving away as required. Mutual support from Clarion, Rebirth and other buffs can prolong survival against the avatar. -
Back in, however UG failed becuase of Mapserver... Nice :'(

Was just making awesome progress on the Underground trial, when I got Mapserver'ed, and now get the login server down?

I've been seeing more and more people with their name in Yellow on the forums, including mine for a short while. Does anyone know what this signifies?

well originally the idea was for there to be damage type modifiers, that could change portions of say, smashing/lethal attacks into energy as an example, and also offer typed defence/resistance to resistance/defence powers to allow characters to "tune" their characters to particular opponents or plug weaknesses.
However, Synapse had reservations about changing damage types as mentioned. Now as IO slotting can be quite confusing it itself, thats why it was suggested that if alternative boosters were offered, that they be kept simple so that anyone interested in either purchasing (or earning, Synapse was keen to stress that alternative boosters should be achieveable ingame too) or slotting these boosters would KNOW it's effect really before placing it.
Hence origin typed boosters that can offer the same statistics as IO's (needing no recoding of the IO's) but with additional damage chances, DoT etc that could simply be added on. -
Yeah i'm sticking around on Union too
-
Nice work guys! Hoping to snag the last badge myself in the week, then hopefully sweet talk a few peeps into that Green Stuff run that I was hoping to do until my PC died!

During the open beta of i21, I managed to grab Synapse for a short while about an idea I had for alternate Enhancement Boosters. The basis for that is that whilst adding +5 to your powers is appealing, the statistical gains aren't huge and don't really allow for much customising (as ideally players would +5 everything)
So, I managed to grab Synapse as mentioned for some quick questions regarding these (Thankyou again for your time there!) and it seems the dev team have some reservations or numerical issues about my original suggestion of boosters based on damage types and with changing damage type outright on attacks.
Having had a chat with Vulpish One in the open beta as well, we were trying to brainstorm ways in which we could represent boosters easily (a proc booster as an example, could either make attacks proc, or increase/modify the proc ability of an exisiting IO, which makes their description confusing)
Having had a futher few sleep on it, instead of the damage types, perhaps Origin's could be an alternative solution?
There could be 5 categories (instead of the previous 8 boosters by damage type) called Technique (Natural), Reagent (Science), Nanite (Technology), Malus (Magic) and Pathogen (Mutation), which have different advantages and disadvantages based on the power boosted, and the opponent being fought.
As an example a hero without boosters faces off against the Circle of Thorns. His attacks are calculated based on the type of attack and the CoT's type of defence. If that same hero then used the same ability, but slotted with Malus boosters, he would have an advantage against the Circle because the Malus booster is designed to be strong against magical attacks, in the same way that Nanite boosters would have an advantage against opponents using Technology/Science equipment etc.
Again, I'm certainly not the king of numbers here and there could be multiple "types" of each booster as well to choose from, such as a Malus Sigil booster that perhaps causes a small self heal when attacked by magical opponents, or a Nanite Swarm booster that causes additional damage over time when used on an attack IO against a tech opponent.
Again thought's and feedback would be really appreciated!!! -
Just a note, but I believe the Avatar Assassin badge is for defeating the avatar and a seedling at the same time, nit an IDF bomb.
-
Just a heads up that im back! I'm combat ready but still working out some details on the setup of my new system
-
So do I, I'm currently posting from my phone. My motherboard is dead, so a replacement is on it's way to get me back in action!!
-
I'm currently having some computer stability issues at the moment. I have some replacement computer parts on order, which I'm fitting friday. If I'm unable to get it sorted apologies, but my fellow Strykers are fully battle ready for thr cathedral of pain and repelling Praetorian forces
Hope to see you all friday if this works! -
Nope, Union's my home and its staying that way
-
yeah lol, that was a rather random Union Chat message that sparked this all off!
-
Awesome pics Rave! Hoping to see you when we get this running!!

As many of you may remember ( Especially you Damz :P ), when the Freedom stress test went ahead back in May, a few of us drew a crowd with some well timed dancing on the steps of Atlas Park! (Screenies!)
Well, we were at it again on Union last night...
And during which, we hit onto an idea for a community event that could get Union a little recognition and hopefully be a lot of fun!
As no doubt a lot of you would have seen, a Youtube video Linked for Reference has a large number of Chinese Inmates doing the Thriller Dance. We would be very hard pressed to replicate that, but if we could fill the area under Atlas just everyone doing the same dance in time, that could make for a very interesting video, to which end I have PM'd Samuraiko (@Dark Respite) about possibly filming it for us.
Anyone wishing to participate does NEED the Dance Pack availiable on the NC Store because of the emotes that would look best.
More details to follow as we arrange a date and time that's mutually availiable. Members of the EERC (Euro Event Rescource Comittee) will be present and hopefully assist in the organisation of this event.

Update: Due to the server outage 12/08 there sadly wasn't a CoP this week, however the Strykers WILL be back next week for a regular butt kicking around 9pm ish 19/08/11!

Quote:Good advice and it would be an honor to fight alongside you again Lady Arete.Hmm.. Hello hello Sarge
Good to see your putting a Hamidon together. I'm in.
To those who do not know what to expect, do read the sticky guide on union forum. Sarge might differ a little from that plan (I do not know), but it should cover what you can expect at least.
The little guide Union is familiar with -
Similar to the ones posted previous, but I went with a multilayered armor look by varying the colors between the base layers and the costumes pieces on top! -
First off, an apology for my unstable prescence last night in D. I know a few people were hoping to get one in this week after last weeks lightning offensive against Lanaruu, but between Mapservering and some other issues that arose last night it was sadly not to be.
12/08/11's CoP will go ahead as planned, which MUST start no later than 20:30 so anyone wishing to participate should park their HERO or VIGILANTE character in Pocket D early so that we can commence and complete the trial.
Additionally, having done my homework, the problems that we have experienced on the few previous raids have been identified and I'm currently trying to forecast a strategy that procludes the possibility of particular event combinations arising again. -
dependant on when this goes down, the Strykers will be out in force for this.
