"Don't Fear the Reaper"
It'd have to be a recording, though, because if I tried to actually play an instrument, they'd just push the button immediately. -

name was Jetsinator, and thanks for the thank you...
[/ QUOTE ]Fixed. Sorry about that! -
Heh. I see the confusion. I'm referring to some kind of badge for destroying drop ships.

Exploding Clockwork would be cool, but
<<<SPOILER ALERT>>>
their power source isn't even remotely flammable or explosive. -

Okay, more seriously, obviously I just missed it.

Hmm...while I laud the warning posted here, I wonder why not doing so in game, as by all accounts only a fraction of patrons actually visit here.

Notice of this rule pops up every time you log into the game. It's right there in the EULA that you click "I Agree" on.
[/ QUOTE ]Even people who bypass the loader (as I've read some people do) agree to it just by playing. -
Does this deserve to be in Player Guides?

Do we know yet whether "flipped" characters will be able to return to the regular game areas?
So many people have said that certain Villain archetypes would be overpowered on heroside that I'm wondering about this.
If I take a Mastermind into the new area, and swing him over to Heroic, can I then take him into Paragon City?
I've searched and found many people asking the same, but no answers. Did I miss it, or do we not know yet?
Thanks! -
Go ahead and buy a copy of AE for as cheap as you can get. You get WAY more than $20 worth of value, plus you'll have a disc with a fairly recent version that will eliminate most of your download time.
You could also buy a patch cable, and temporarily hard connect your system to your network. That will eliminate any possible WiFi interference. Microwave ovens and cordless phones can sometimes mess with a WiFi signal -- I had to abandon my wifi and run a cable almost 100' because one of my neighbors had something that was trashing my signal.
If you have to run the cable across a traffic path, throw a small rug or even a towel over it to reduce the chance of it catching a foot and tripping someone or damaging your equipment. Ask everyone to step OVER it, please. -
Try swapping them, but PG may be right. You can also try "emote" and "em", but they probably won't make much difference.
As a last resort, put BU first, then put the emote twice. MAYBE that'll give enough time for it to pick up the emote, too. -
I've got a pretty long wish list, too.
But #1 on that list, and has been since I first heard the idea, is a Moon Zone.
And do it right:
Day/night cycle 28 times longer than "normal".
1/6 gravity.
The Earth hanging motionless in the sky (on the real Moon, it would appear to move across a very small arc, but motionless would be fine). Now, since the Earth would have to go through phases, I'd accept if they put the base on the Far Side, where the Earth isn't even visible. But I'd still rather see it, if I had my druthers.
Vacuum. If I go outside without the zone temp power (something like the Tierra Volta protection belts, but MUCH longer/unlimited duration), I should start taking MASSIVE damage. Maybe some powers could protect me (Force Field, anyone?), but even Superman needs a space suit nowadays.
(Gravity: if they put normal gravity inside a base, and the 1/6 only outside, that'd be okay. Not as good as throughout, but okay.) -
This is excellent. I've been hoping someone would do this for weeks.
If you haven't done so, I feel it should also be in the Wiki. I'd rather send a newbie there than here. -
Blame it on the technology: "Yes, ma'am, I'm quite sure you dialed the correct number, but the system connected you to us. If you'll just try it again, a little slower, it should go through correctly."
If they still get you, well, I dunno. -
Heh. I expect this will make it easier for them to identify the dedicated exploiters, the ones who SHOULD be banned.
-
Cool. I thought I'd have to join, then leave the SG after.

My biggest issue with the setting is, now instead of just teaming with idiots who insist on running challenge level 5, they'll also have everything else cranked to max to get the uber expeez. You know, the same people that don't understand why everyone doesn't love running suicide missions.

I'll give it a shot, like "You know, if we lowered the difficulty a notch, we'd spend less time dead, and maybe get more XP overall." And sometimes it even works.
But when that's met with "NO, this is the best XP!", then as soon as we're between missions, I'll just say "Okay, I'm going to go do something else, now. Have Fun!"
Rule #2: If you're not having fun, do something else. -
Liberty is where I started, and I still have a couple of characters there. Give me a day's notice, and I'll dig one of them out of the dust drifts. Global is in my sig.
I'm on Pacific Time, for whatever that matters. I'm available weekday evenings and weekends. -
My own reaction is caution when a total stranger is begging for someone, ANYONE, to use an "Invite a Friend" program to get them back into the game. I immediately wonder why the 15 days is so important, why they don't just reactivate their old account, or if "Invite a Friend" somehow allows them to evade some kind of ban or something.
On top of that, the topic you created no longer exists, and that's a STRONG indicator of a problem with the idea.
So my advice is forget the free days, reactivate your account, and enjoy the many changes since you left.
Every day you wait is another day you're not playing the full game.
Welcome Back! -

Honestly? Great idea on multiple levels.
I was originally opposed to it. But after the whole Rikti Farms/Bubble Farms fiasco...
A Single player finds an exploit. He knows that if he spreads word of it, the Devs will shut it down. So instead of filling teams with noobs to farm the exploit, he instead solos it on an "8-man" team.
Noone else finds out about it. It doesn't hit broadcast, and the Exploit doesn't spill out into the general populace for the super-leveling BS we'd been seeing before.
Then the Devs datamine the people that use the feature almost exclusively and solo, play through their MA missions looking for exploits, and if they find them CLICK! Locked mission and nerfed character.
Awesome.
