Yet another keybind question.

Yet another keybind question. I did do a search to see if I could find something related to this, but nothing stood out. It seems most the macro/bind documentation out there says you can combine an emote with a power, but I'm having some bad luck.

Can someone tell me if something like this is possible? Or is the dual animation of the emote and the power causing an issue?

bind h "e howl$$powexec_name Build Up"

im pretty sure it's not possible, emotes can be bound with other things (like CC's before the CCEs, or text), but with a power unless there are some 0-animation powers Im not thinking of, the power animation will always override the emote, and binds put them too close together to fire one after the other.

Try swapping them, but PG may be right. You can also try "emote" and "em", but they probably won't make much difference.

As a last resort, put BU first, then put the emote twice. MAYBE that'll give enough time for it to pick up the emote, too.

The problem is that when a power is activated it has an animation time that will playout before allowing another command to activate, but an emote will not. For instance, if you activate a power that has a 3 second animation, that animation will play out in full and aside from a bug, will not allow another power or animation to interrupt it.

However, emotes can be interrupted. They can be interrupted with powers and other emotes. When you bind the howl emote to activate first then the power, the power is allowed to interrupt the emote.

If you activate the power first, followed by the emote, the animation time of the power may be long enough, (and pretty much all the powers animation times are long enough) to play over the emote animation.

I don't think there is a buffer to hold the emote command and wait for the power command to finish its animation then play the emote command. So you generally wont see the emote play when activated immediately after a power.

If the allowed the emote command to behave like this it could cause players some trouble when in battle. Imaging accidently triggering an emote and have it wait in a que while an attack power finishes. You really want the next thing your Char does is activate its self heal power, but you cant, you have to wait for your char to first bust out a boombox and do a little grooving.
